Okay i am on an extended exchange program with my girlfriend's n900 and was wondering if this new interface could be eventually ported to our x10i
Sony Xperia x10i 1GHz.. 2.1 (Eclair) Based on Linux Kernel 2.6.29
Nokia n900 .. 600MHz is based on Open Source Linux
[our phone is faster by default without JIT enabled and there still is the option of removing further bloatware like: timespcape etc ]
Custom UI running on the Lenovo and Nokia N900 by Digia

I have a strange problem with X8! I used it about 3 months with the default screen and the battery lasted me a 2, max 3 days. I decide to insert a Launcher and I install Launcher pro plus and some other types of programs (Fancy widgets...). And at once like a battery that lasts for a day. morning it off the charger andat night around 20h is already empty ? Is there any idea what this is?!
P.S. Sorry for my English but I am not from the English-speaking area
which Roms ? which baseband ?
I have the default system 2.2 Froyo
default rom is 1.6 or 2.1 Eclair.
You can find on Xda, some custom, froyo's rom
ok my peas I bought a phone with 2.1 so I update to 2.2!
I did not understand very well for this froyo's rom?
When you buy Xperia X8, you have default Sonic Ericsson ROM, (1.8 or 2.1).
If you have 1.8, you can update to 2.1 with PC Compagnon from Sony Ericson.
2.1 is the lasted Rom give by sony ericsson for Xperia X8.
If you want to update to 2.2 or 2.3 Rom (2.2 is Froyo, 2.3 is Gingerbread) there is unofficial rom (custom rom), made by develloper.
You can find on Xda, custom 2.2 , 2.3 Rom, that you can download and install with xRecovery.
But you must root your phone and install xRecovery
Ok, thanks, but I would not treat injected custom rom because then I lose the guarantee on the phone, I'd just like to change the Home Screen and we do not deplete the battery
i have a new xperia x8 with 2.1 rom, with or without launcher pro plus, if you leave wifi open, batterie life is 1 day
Just close wifi, and application when you finish using, and it will save battery.
But battery is more longer on 2.2 / 2.3 rom !
As the title says i want to be able to use the Wiimote with the stock rom using a vanilla bluetooth stack or one stack that supports the Wiimote. Below is a list of device that do support the Wiimote:
Google Nexus One (made by HTC)
Google Nexus S (made by Samsung)
Motorola Milestone
Motorola Cliq
Motorola Cliq XT
Motorola Droid X
Motorola Xoom
Motorola Atrix 4G
SonyEricsson Xperia X10
Archos 5 Internet Tablet
Archos Gen8 (32 is confirmed)
T-Mobile G2
LG G-Slate
Rena3 7" tablet
Acer Liquid (only on Android 2.1+)
Dell Streak (fails on some devices with newest updates, try before you get a wiimote!)
Barnes & Noble Nook Color (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
Motorola Droid (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
HTC Hero (only with custom firmware like DarchDroid or FroydVillain)
HTC Eris (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
HTC Desire/HD (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
HTC Incredible (only with custom firmware like IncDoes)
HTC HD2 (only with custom firmware like Amelia X6 HD2Froyo)
Samsung Galaxy Spica (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
Samsung Galaxy S (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
T-Mobile G1 (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
T-Mobile G2x (only with custom firmware like Cyanogenmod)
HTC Touch HD (originally WinMo device, works only with Android firmware like Cyanogenmod/Neopeek)
<<basically every android device that has a port of Cyanogenmod or any other AOSP ROM>>
The Galaxy S is listed there but I can already guess that it would nee to be a custom rom, without TouchWiz. This thread is to ask is there a TouchWiz rom with the correct bluetooth stack available?
Thanks in advance,
Kris
I second this. I like the TouchWiz interface but I'm missing my wiimote capabilities from my Nexus one. Is there any rom which adds this but keeps the default TouchWiz?
I read somewhere WIImote works with MIUI Rom found here in the developers section.
Hope this helps a bit
Hello,
almost 2 years ago I bougt the samsung galaxy spica.
In the beginning I loved my phone but a year after buying I hated android 1.5
Samsung didn't do anything at that moment, so i rooted it and installed a lot of custom roms on it .
At the moment it is running an unstable version of android 2.3.4 but android 2.2 (froyo) is really stable on it, and it enables multitouch.
All the information how to do it is on the website samdroid.net
Android 2.2 Froyo for i5700 is based on CyanogenMod-6.1.1
Android 2.3 Gingerbread for i5700 is based on CyanogenMod-7.1.0 (it's still under development as for example camera isn't working).
Telephone has a bright future as user named tom3q is finishing brand new, custom made form scratch 2.6.38 kernel with brand new dedicated 3D drivers.
Hey everybody, as i said in the title, with the new progess of BroadcomCM on CM's is Ubuntu Touch could be ported to our Galaxy Y ?
Like in this video in which the guy says that is running Ubuntu Touch under a CM10 rom, see : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znehah_vX1s
I'm completely crazy about this OS, because i like the way the user interface is used to make things, that's be great if we can have it on totoro too
Its possible but I think ubuntu touch doesn't support armv6 but I can be wrong too
Maybe it can ported to totoro if we have stable CM
That's what's i thinked about, but i know each port is different even if it's based on CM in the case of the S3.
No it can't be ported to totoro, Ubuntu touch needs at least a dual core 1.2 processor to run properly
Hi All,
Stephen here, new to XDA. Not sure if this is the right place to post.
I'm looking for advice to help extend my Xperia X8 battery life. I have a rooted Xperia X8 running stock rom and kernal (android 2.1), manufacture details 10W42.
I use my xperia X8 solely as a bike computer because it has in-built ant+ receiver but its use is limited up to approx 2hrs due to battery life . My main question is are there any custom Rom's available which do not effect the ant+ protocol that is installed at manufacture and that extend the battery life substantially. I would require 3-4hrs on constant screen on with a bike gps app (IpBike) running so that I can use the xperia X8 as a bike computer.
I'm a software developer so flashing roms and kernals shouldn't be an issue. I would guess that a later version of android would probably help!
thanks
I can you recommend a good roms that I've tried (do not know about the battery life, I think it's good for both roms)
1. GingerDX v031b ( android v 2.3.7 ) for stock kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486
2. ROM 5.1.1 Super Lite for Xperia X8/W8 ( android v 2.3.7 ) for stock kernel - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzGb2aHCz2w6TjZoT0ItMFBvNjQ/view
Requirements:
Rooted
ClockworkMod Recovery (v014+)
Baseband 015
!!!very important!! use only those roms for stock kernel
currently I'm using this " 2. ROM 5.1.1 Super Lite for Xperia X8/W8 " and am quite happy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG27T_ZRqzk
