Rooting + installing custom roms. - Galaxy Spica General

Hello,
almost 2 years ago I bougt the samsung galaxy spica.
In the beginning I loved my phone but a year after buying I hated android 1.5
Samsung didn't do anything at that moment, so i rooted it and installed a lot of custom roms on it .
At the moment it is running an unstable version of android 2.3.4 but android 2.2 (froyo) is really stable on it, and it enables multitouch.
All the information how to do it is on the website samdroid.net

Android 2.2 Froyo for i5700 is based on CyanogenMod-6.1.1
Android 2.3 Gingerbread for i5700 is based on CyanogenMod-7.1.0 (it's still under development as for example camera isn't working).
Telephone has a bright future as user named tom3q is finishing brand new, custom made form scratch 2.6.38 kernel with brand new dedicated 3D drivers.

Why no Froyo or custom roms?

This phone has been on the market for some time now and there are almost no custom Roms for this phone. There are certainly no Froyo roms. Is there a problem with development? Did samsung release all the drivers needed?
there are in fact many custom ROMs already.
but the guys making the custom ROMs are waiting for Froyo to be released, before they go crazy on it (same here)
Samsung is releasing Froyo sometimes in September, just in time for back to school
for the time being i'm mostly evaluating all the softwares i wat to include into my own custom ROM once froyo has been released, and also building a list of build in apps that i don't use and want to remove
you can install any of the many available custom ROMs already from the DEV section just search for [ROM]
Samsung have released the source code, but reportedly the drivers are encrypted. This means all custom roms for the near future will need to be based off the official (and leaked) Samsung releases with just optimisations (eg: MoDaCo R3) or theming (eg: SamSet 1.6), but no ports or AOSP until the drivers can be recovered.
However, work has started on Cyanogen 6.0 for Galaxy S. They are stil very much in the initial stages however.
Official Froyo is due sometime in August (Korean release), so it's easiest to just wait for that and then go from there. However, we may get some leaks early if the stream of beta firmwares (still 2.1) is anything to go by.
Actually i'm quite sure Paul said that next MoDaCo release won't be based on an official samsung firmware, so I think it's just a matter of time and many ROMs will appear.

Update Me On X10a Progress

So I havent visited the threads for months and im wondering what kind of updates/changes have we gotten on the x10? The time I left was probably a few weeks after we got 2.1 on it. So im wondering how we are doing in terms of Android version, multitouch, etc. The number of threads some with 2.1 some about 2.2 and 2.3 are all too confusing so it would be nice if someone could update me.
Thanks.
2.2 custom ROM ( Free X10 by Z ) is almost stable, only video recording not working.
2.3 custom ROM ( by jerpelea ) is out for beta, with few issues, not yet ready for everyday use.
MIUI, SENSE, Cyanogen mods are being developed, but not as complete as other ones.
Dual touch update for Japan is out, the kernel has been extracted by Bin4ry and Dualtouch can be enabled on every ROM right now.

[Q] [REQ] i Need this and so may you

Okay i need to find a nand rom that meets these requirements
stock froyo 2.2
cm 6.1.1
cwm capabale
and easily moddable
why you ask?
Well I Came Up With A Idea To Put The Samsung UI In a Rom
Havent Seen It Yet And i Love the way it looks (previous iphone user lol)
and i want this done and i have no experience building roms just desgining them

[Q] Most responsive ROM update

Currently I am still on Wolfbreak 6.0.0 ROM from ages ago. (old phone) The reason is that I no longer use the x10i. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 now. However, I have lots of friends on x10i who has been bugging me to update their phone.
My question is what is the most current stable ROM to use. Please name me a few. Basically the camera functionality is the most important.
Thx.

Multi windows like Samsung Galaxy?

Would it be possible on our device?
Thank you

I think Thor had that Onskreen Cornerstone was working on one of his ICS builds, not sure if it's still implemented though.
I was reading a little about it just today and I discovered that this feature is TouchWiz related... I don't know if there is a way to bring it for non Samsung devices
Thor did have it working on his ICS ROM.
Conerstone abandoned support....so it was pulled from future builds
is Multi Window the same as Kornerstone?
I thought it was something new.
maybe time for a Samsung port? I miss TW on my acer...
looks like it could be achieved through an app or custom launcher? very cool to have on a tablet.
How?
Yhanks

Samsung's implementation of Multi Window is buried very deeply into their TouchWiz code. It can't even be ported to an S3 or Note 2 running an AOSP rom, which I currently use. It depends on too many TW libraries to even consider porting.
Kornerstone was an older attempt at this feature, but was abandoned by its creators and the latest version of Thor's ROM that contained it (circa build v164 for ICS) was buggy as hell due to Kornerstone. Thor removed it from his subsequent ROMs (at least by v169).
Alas, there is absolutely zero possibility we will EVER see Samsung's Multi Window on our A500, or any non-TW ROM.
Try VirtuousGalaxy
One week ago I downgraded my bootloader to be able to use Virtuous Galaxy Rom, that have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 TouchWiz Interface with mini-apps (only 7) in little windows that you can move and interact with them as you want, but is 10000 times more limited than the posibilitis that Note 10.1 TouchWiz gives.
The first drawback is that this Rom still in Hc 3.2 and it have a worse performance than the 4.x.x and that you have to downgrade your bootloader (If you have Dual Bootloader V8 ICS) and then you can only install HC roms.
I was asking for a 4.x ICS Bootloader TouchWiz Rom there and in other forums but nobody says anything. I tryed to give the code of Touchwiz and tryied to port a rom, but it was imposible to me (I have no enought knowledge about it)
Sorry for my bad English, i'm Spanish
