I'm deciding weither to get the MT4G or wait for the Desire HD and I had 1 question. I know you can't video chat with the Desire HD but can you receive video chats via qik or any other programs? It seems the only feature missing on the Desire HD is the front facing camera, other than that it seems the Desire HD community is a lot more happening. Thanks!
There is no network video chat with froyo. Rumours say it will be enabled with gingerbread.
You can however video chat with fring.... so I presume other apps would allow it to.

Another video.
This time he's uploading a video directly from HTC HD to youtube.
Apparently HTC Touch HD is the only WM device that has the feature of uploading videos captured on the device directly on youtube.

Vid taken from Motorola Droid. Not sure how to embed it in this forum.
Playing around with Qik for a bit. I was under the impression that Qik is supposed to provide 2-way "vid chat", which it doesn't. It uses your Evo's FRONT camera (not the 8 megapixel cam on the back) or BACK camera to stream a live video to the web.
As you can see, there is noticeable lag. I don't think it's possible to view the live stream on another smartphone using either the browser or Qik. I can only view my live video feed from my desktop.
Streaming video hasn't been enabled yet, but *will* be a feature of the service in the coming weeks(ish)

Whats stopping another evo 4g user from opening your feed from his phone, and you vice versa while you are both streaming? It would be a few seconds off but eh, it beats waiting.

Well it would be something more like 1 minute off if you're both on 3G I'd think.
Is there any way the Wildfire can record in HD, or modify it in a way it will be able to record in hd?
No and the CPU is too slow to encode in hd

Maby VGA(640x480)?
Would be cool to see if there is some kind of software workaround, the recording is just crap now. Since it has the 5MP camera/sensor should it be technically possible to record video's at a higher resolution?
its camera is too bad. i dont expect. it doesnt set color adjustment when take a photo. hd video recording is a dream for the wildfire.
well i currently have a desire SLCD version and i really love it, however yest i got a pretty awesome offer which will allow me to jump to Desire HD free of charge
i tried the device myself for few minutes, i found it beautiful but having read some reviews i have some concerns
few reviews mentioned unlike the classic desire the Desire HD have problems playing back 720p videos even mp4 ones, this essential for me since i have my portfolio already encoded in 720p mp4 and runs perfect on my desire and don't want any stutter when i present it (Ad agency people will jump n say get an iphone you loser)
did anyone test the SD card speed with the desire HD? the classic froyo desire had a software issue with the SD card read ahead speed which was solved by patching the kernel, is this related to the video playback issue on the desire HD?
my second issue, reviews mentioned heavy digital processing in the camera produced photos, the desire had the same issue but i used to simply lower sharpness to -2 and the digital processing gets turned off (noise blur and then oversharpness) hence i was able to get beautiful almost analog like photos using the standard HTC camera app, do we have a similar negative sharpness setting in the desire HD camera and does it disable the image processing?
thanks for all the help
.mp4 files play very well even in 720p. It's the bitrate that might give you some trouble, but any reasonable setting (it's 4.3" after all) plays very smooth. Add the DLNA clent and you get an awesome player.

I tried out an HD7S for a while and was pretty suprised about a app for the HD7 that showed the HD versions of youtube vids.
I was wondering if there was anything for the HD2 that does the same thing since its basically the same phone. Was trying out a video that I tried on the HD7S and even on high settings on the HD2 it looked like crap.
Thanks guys.
Grifter024 there no app for the HD2 with HD YouTube. I have a HD7 as well as the HD2 and yes there's a difference on Video Quality. When I use the HD2 I just use the stock Youtube app that came with the phone.
