hi fellas, what's up?
i was wondering if i can find an .apk file for hot reboot feature as i am using the FRGM 1.7 rom which is the fastest most stable android rom i have ever seen for android and it doesn't have this feature
this feature is available in some other roms like the MJD...etc
please i have been searching alot and i couldn't find an isolate apk for this feature
thanks in advance
There's an app in the market called fast reboot. I'm not shure if it is payware or not. This app does just simply restart the UI of Android to free some RAM.

Aight so i am using the latest HyperDroid with CM7 on my HD2.
I am trying to download games from the Android Market on my PC but the page is recognizing my phone as an HD2 and i can't install the games..
The weird thing is that i can install Applications from Android Market.
Any heads up? I'm tired of using the Market place on the phone.
Android Market is the best!
So, what is the problem with installing .apk from Market using your phone?
Since you can't do it from PC the phone is an option isn't it?
Yeah mate! Sure it is.. lol
Lock it up please.
curious
hi arkatis!
i'm so curious, can you tell me how to play tegra games on hd2?
wich rom do you use, any modification or downloaded programs?

Can someone please explain to me why everytime I change to a ROM that has a custom themed Android Market, like FRESH or WARM, the themed Market will disappear and revert to the standard Android Market???? I was really enjoying the theme of the Market that the FRESH 3.5.0.1 I installed had and then I wake up this morning and go to download some apps and like magic the theme is gone...poof...disappeared. What causes this??? If anyone knows can you please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone knows how to fix this so I can get the theme back that would be nice too. Thanks.
I believe freezing the market update in titanium backup will solve that.
Yes. Freezing or just renaming the marketupdater.apk to something like marketupdater.bak will work.
And to get your theme back go to apps>manage> and locate market and click on uninstall updates.

Thanx that worked for me
Geez, this has only been answered about 12,000 times in practically every ROM thread there is.....
It should be mentioned that by freezing the market updater, you won't get any updates to the market. You might miss out on new features and/or security or bug fixes. I'm not saying don't do it though, I just wanted to make sure you knew.
hi,
sorry if i have reposted this i have looked around but not found an EXACT answer.
my question is,
i have installed ATK and set an "ignore list" to all the apps which i want to keep running (eg. Calender) and all widgets.
i have turned AutoKill and AutoStart off
and i am not using the widget (kill via opening app in drawer)
will this speed up my phone atall or am i better off whithout it?
is there any better settings you can reccomend?
Thanks alot
Are you on Stock Rom ?
I would not recommend using a task killer because Android is a multi-tasking OS and closing certain tasks can cause instabilities.
The only time they are useful is if you want to force close an application due to it not responding, which you can do by going into settings.
Using a task killer will most probably not speed up the wildfire nor will it save much battery.
If you find the Wildfire slow, OC it by rooting and flashing a custom kernel.

On stock ROM I sometimes found it useful to use when there was not enough memory available (< 95 MB) and the phone started running slower. On CM7 I constantly have about 180 MB left so no need for the taskkiller, the phone runs smooth enough without it
Thank you all!
Firstly i am on stock rom, and there are just a few apps which i would jsut like to keep closed, such as Gmail (i use the HTC mail instead) or peep, talk and Maps. but if it isnt reccomended i will change.
i want to keep sense, i have used LauncherPro but find Sense UI far better.
how would i go about overclocking? i have read a tutorial about rooting but doesnt look easy for a first time android user,
Android 2.2.1
HBOOT 1.01.0002
Sense 2.0 (i think)
Vodafone UK
12 month contract
S-ON
Not Rooted
Stock ROM
Stock Kernal
let me know if there is anything else you need to know

If your rooted then get titanian backup and freeze apps you dont want to be running at all it stops them without uninstalling and without the need to keep killing it. So i advise you to root.
If you want to overclock then you need root and custom recovery to flash an overclockable kernel such as jacobs. Or a rom with an overclockable kernel 'built in'
Rooting is fairly easy really so long as you have researched and are careful good luck.

Click on this link for the full guide to root your HTC Wildfire:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035
After you follow the instructions in that thread and are successfully rooted, seeing as you like the Sense UI; I recommend you use JokerDroid as your ROM as it uses Sense. You can download it at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999899
Once you have downloaded it, either use ROM Manager or Recovery to flash it and you'll be up and running with Sense.
Next, I think that JokerDroid is already overclocked; but if it isn't, go to the following link where you can download SetCPU which will enable you to overclock ( to 768MHz ):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
You will notice a big difference when you root your Wildfire, it will be like a completely new phone! If you need any help with any of the above don't hesitate to message me. Good luck!

Root your phone, install antek app manager. Freeze applications that you don't want. stocks, footprints etc..
Simples.
titanium backup paid version can also freeze apps

I wouldnt, android stops applications running when there services are no longer needed. Task killer can cause problems with apps.

Hi all, can I just check if there is anyway we can get back stock apps like Car Panel in custom ROMs? It was something that is really cool that I really hope it can work as well on Sense 3.0 ROMs..
someone help ~!
Yes you can. There are many. I know if your phone is rooted you can go get it our of your app folders. I'm sure there others. Go search for the apk on the net.
pretty much all sense based roms should have that app
Which is your BUILD (ROM) ? It's strange that you haven't that app. Did you searched Google for .apk ?
Hello Every one
I am new using android, i don't know much about it.
Few months back i bought DEll XCD 35 running with Android 2.2...
whats the latest version i can upgrade it to ?
where i can get it ?
and how can i begin the upgrade [some guidance so i don't do wrong upgrade ]
I am ready to pay to get help fast
Thanks,
Rahul
look at bottom post for my question
Starting with xcd 35
Your mobile is now in factory condition with Non Root access.
So first try to get the feel of having a rooted device.
Advantage is that you will be elevated to a super user(term in linux for an admin user) - google how to Root zte blade, u will see a modaco link for that. Do that first and once u get a hang of having a rooted device proceed on to Installing Recovery, then a new ROM
hope this helps.. I am new user in xda so i cant post links... sorry
The last stock update for blade is 2.2. And I'm not sure whether 2.3 stock will be available to blade or not.
But u can always have customised 2.3 AOSP roms.

can u please tell me which rooting app should i use ?
actually i used z4root and i rooted permanently then i installed 2-3 recovery app one by one which showed me error that my phone isn't rooted yet...
Update :: Whew ! finally rooted phone using z4root modified version and recovery manager is also installed...
please guide me for further steps
Edited :: installing clockwise recovery using rom manager...
Final Update :: finally got to install canyon mode 7.1.0 rc1 working on cell.... please tell me if there is any rom which is similar to android 2.3.4
Try Ginger Stir Fry presently version 26, very stable and good for daily use. And lot of people use it and post issues about it (also check modaco).. lot of support available.
Then there is elitemovil, LOT OF OPTIONS..... definitely worth a try. am going to jump into that after using gsf.

I remember task manager is a stock app of zte blade. No wonder if u find it missing in custom roms.
Removing /system/apps requires rooting. Use "titanium backup" or "root uninstaller" applications to remove those system apps. Those are the GUI tools for uninstalling system apps. You can also do it with command-line adb shell from a PC.

Ad Hoc WiFI problem
Hi, I also use a xcd35, with stock rom 2.2, 512 MB.
I have realised that I cant share my laptop Vista Internet as programs like connectify will only create Ad Hoc connections and Android 2.2 wont detect the same.. Various forums suggests replacing wpa_supplicant.. wonder if anyone has done it and how far it was successful..
