[Q] DK17 Rom? - Epic 4G General

Hello all,
Is there any word on when the full dk17 rom might be posted or what kinds of features/improvements it might have over dk05? I'm not trying to complain or be impatient, I was just wondering if someone had any info they'd like to share.
BTW, I've been running the stock DK05 rom/modem with the dk17 kernel since yesterday and haven't had a single FC
Thanks!

I guess I'm about to find out for myself about dk17.

Which custom kernal compatible w/ JI2?

Hey guys... I am getting ready to flash the JI2 modem (to fix my gps issues from what I read), but I was also wanting to flash a custom kernel to speed my system up and get rid of lag. I was thinking about flashing this kernel ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787410 ) but have read where it bricked some phones, others didn't have a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what custom kernel would work with the JI2? I will also need it to be compatible with what I am running... please advise on what you have had success with!

hi

I have to do a bunch of posts before I can do anything useful, so this is me saying hi. I have a samsung fascinate with blackhole 4.1. I'd update to an EB01 release, but I don't see the point. I'm waiting until someone starts making custom kernels so BLN and wireless tether work again, and I can get the tun modules working to connect to cisco vpn's.
Hi there.
Well, I'm currently on a stock EB01 release, but looking around for custom roms. Flash plays pretty smooth on my Fascinate.

Question regarding "best way of flashing smoothness, fastest and flexibel"

Hey guys,
I'm kinda new to flashing stuff, and I'm interested to take a step forward to try out by myself!
Alright, the question is according from a friend of mine, he told me the best way of flashing my SGS is by flashing the first android firmware which was 2.0 (first one I think?) and then 2.1, and then 2.2 to have best "stable" and most smoothness without troubling my phone to be slow.
Is that true? I mean, the firmware should be nice and smooth anyway if you just flashing directly from a new CFW, right?
I was thinking trying to use Darky 9.3 Extreme CFW.
If you guys have any better CFW you guys know out there, it would be very nice and much appreciation of you to share bit info of me!
Thanks!

No need to downgrade if you are on 2.1

Just go from 2.1 to the next. Likely 2.2.1 for you. Save the trouble flashing 3 Roms.

[Q] Hashcode's Kernal Question

Hello all!
Noob here with a very nooby question....
So, I installed bl1nkk's ICS ROM on my kindle fire a while back & although limited in the SOD department...there was one instance where I had SOD for about 48hrs. I was just wondering if this has been identified as a Kernal issue & possible fix with Hashcode's kernal for ICS that he's been working on? Or is this a specific ROM issue with bl1inkk's ROM & I should just switch ROM's?
Thanks for any & all help!
I've been running the ROM from the thread in my sig ever since it's been out and haven't had a SOD in longer than I can remember. YMMV but I'm insanely happy with this ROM, I'm following HashCode's new kernel thread, but for me this is already daily driver as I don't need HWA for what I use it for.

Samsung Galaxy Apollo Telus Canada

In July I flashed my Apollo to ICS, although relatively stable the are no fixes for the camera or YouTube apps. As I was and still am a novice when it comes to modding, I didn't backup the original firmware that it came with. Android 2.2 Froyo. Mea Culpa. I haven't been able to find any stock roms/builds/firmwares for my phone. I was hoping someone would be able to provide me/ link the original roms/bu..... . Many thanks if anyone can help me
Check this thread for firmwares
