In July I flashed my Apollo to ICS, although relatively stable the are no fixes for the camera or YouTube apps. As I was and still am a novice when it comes to modding, I didn't backup the original firmware that it came with. Android 2.2 Froyo. Mea Culpa. I haven't been able to find any stock roms/builds/firmwares for my phone. I was hoping someone would be able to provide me/ link the original roms/bu..... . Many thanks if anyone can help me

and can you give me a link... thanks...
i want the HTC Official 2.1 eclair rom for wildfire... because when 2.2 froyo release i want to update my wildfire via software update by htc...
Oi pre!.. hehe..
isnt it your wildfire is already official 2.1 eclair when you bought it?.. unless you already flashed to a custom ROM, and i hope before you flash to a custom ROM, you made a backup of your original ROM?..
well just in case, this link have all official ROMs..
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/
what rom would you prefer because the rom(125.707.1) I have is not listed? should I get the most recent one?
salamat parekoy!
If you bought the unit from the Philippines, it should have 2.1 update-1. If its not in the releases in the site, you should just get the latest instead.
Goodluck, pare.
Yup, you're right. Bought it from the phil. and it has the 2.1 update-1. I'll just get the RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.37.405.1_Radio
Maraming salamat, parekoy!
hi guys... any hints on when the official Froyo update for our Wildfire will be coming out?
I'm quite disappointed with the device as I have compared it with the Galaxy 5. The Galaxy 5 performs better and is able to run games without lags.
I wonder if the update will improve the performance of the Wildfire.
HI! I'm wondering if there's any way to downgrade Motorola Defy to its stock 2.1 eclair? Upgraded to Froyo and I'm a bit disappointed. Fellow Filipino here.
EDIT: oops, sorry, wrong thread.
Hi all,
I'm very new in the Android world, so please reply as if i'm a complete bastard
I've got a Galaxy Apollo (i5800), without simlock, running Android 2.1 from Samsung (original rom).
Now I read many thing about roms, jpm, jpf, jpg, jpw, jpz, jpb, etcetera etcetera. Now I really don't know what these terms mean.
The only thing I know, is that I would like to try a good custom rom, with easy installation. Do you guys know about a very user/beginner friendly rom?
And also, do I have to root my phone before I'm able to install a custom rom?
Sorry for my bad english and poor knowledge.
Thanks in advance for your reply

Hello, welcome to the android world!
jpm, jpm, etc are firmware builds of android 2.2 (froyo)
All custom roms have easy installation (with odin).
You dont have to root your phone before installing a rom!

What do you guys think about this rom? youtube.com/watch?v=NY1cySzOh0U
This rom is based on XXJPM.
Will it work on my i5800, currently firmware version: PDA:JG6 / PHONE:JG3 / CSC:JH2 (BSE), language: Dutch?
Will it be buggy, laggy? Will Samsung Kies still be able to detect my phone after flashing this rom?
And, when I don't like this rom, how easy will it be to get the stock firmware on it?
Last, but not least: is this rom going to drain the battery life of my phone?
Many thanks for the replies

You can't update with kies if you have a custom rom. you have to flash back
Thanks for the replies! I'm currently running Indroid 3.0, and it's working perfect!
It was very easy to install the custom rom, which I didn't expect.

Hy, i have also a question:
- If i flash with a custom rom/kernel can i then install official rom from Kies? Or it's irreversible?
Kies only works with official roms as far as I know...
If you flash a custom rom with odin, kies doesn't recognize the phone (and you can not install official rom from kies).
You can however flash an official rom with odin (rom from samfirmware).
- With the official rom kies also works again.
Thanks, i will be watting for the official rom for the 5801 and then i will install custom rom depending on the users feedback.
I just bought a new i9000 and I want to upgrade it to the latest OS possible (hope ICS 4.0 is available)..
I am REALLY a beginner in this..so please I need a tutorial from the scratch..

Well, first of all, the latest roms are not always the best ones. Since gingerbread 2.3.4, we've had in sequence: JVQ, JVR, JVS, JVT and now JVX, JVW and JVZ.
However, many still consider JVR to be smoother and more stable than the newer ones. Then, there is also the wifi problem on JVS and above.
Similarly, there is the infamous phone.apk force close problem on all these roms, which was not present on gingerbread 2.3.3.
But gingerbread 2.3.3 had serious battery drain issues, which weren't present on Froyo roms.
So, here's what you need to know as a beginner:
-The latest roms and custom roms give you the advantage of theming, modding and tweaking, all of which are very fun and exciting. Seriously. I used to flash my galaxy s multiple times a day.
-But the smoothest, lag free roms are the Froyo 2.2.1 roms. Stick with those if you want stability and speed. After all, gingerbread doesn't have any important extra functionalities. But, froyo roms lack support for latest tweaks and themes.
So, if you're happy with your current rom, there is no actual need to change it.
But, if you are really keen on trying other roms before settling down, you need to be able to flash roms. To do that, you'll need to:
1) Install Samsung Kies to get the samsung usb drivers
2) Download odin 1.3 or above
3) Download the rom of your choice and follow their flashing instructions
4) To be safe, download a froyo stock rom and a gingerbread stock rom with bootloaders just in case you need to revert to stock
5) To be even safer, perform the unbrickable mod on your phone first, though the SGS is pretty hard to hard brick anyway.
thanxxxxxx

Hello,
You'll have to excuse my relative anonymity with regards to Android. I've always been a BlackBerry user and I've recently switched to a Note and couldn't be happier, but I know little about ROM's, development and so on.
I've rooted my Note and loaded a Custom ROM - imilka's CyanogenMod9, which has been working fantastically. However, I do miss some of the stock TouchWiz applications like S Memo and S Planner. Also, I'd like to return to Gingerbread and simply wait for the official ICS update from Samsung. Custom ROM's are nice and efficient, but for daily use I'm starting to think a stock ROM might be better for me.
My question is, how can I return to the latest stock ROM of the Note, without losing root or bricking my phone?
Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this has been covered someplace else but I couldn't find it.

Hi guys. I apologize if there is already a thread similar to this one.I tried to do a search but I keep getting blank results.
I hope someone can help me.
I have a Samsung S4 I9500 Exynos with Stock 4.2.2 rom.My question are-
Can I flash a custom 6.0.1 rom directly over the 4.2.2 or will I have problems with the bootloader and kernel (modem/radio)?
I want to flash either GearCM or RR.I already have TWRP 3.2 I think and am rooted.
Or would I need to flash to Custom 5.1.1 rom first to prevent any problems?
If I need to flash 5.1.1 can someone please recommend a rom thats customizable like RR but still very stable for everyday use with minimal bugs and that includes the latest bootloader and kernel (modem\radio)?
If I like the 5.1.1 rom that you guys recommend I'll rather use it, but I like 6.0.1 UI more.
Please I will appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thank you
You'll probably have to update the bootloader and modem before flashing a custom 5.0 or 6.0 ROM.
Ok thanks @audit much appreciated. You don't maybe know who has the latest stuff? Will it be @ALBERTO's roms?
The easiest and safest way to update the bootloader and modem world be top flash the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com with Odin. Once updated, you can flash twrp, and a custom ROM for your phone.

Tell me how everything goes with your Galaxy. I too have a GT-i9500 which I flash to RR it installed okay but had bugs & used up battery life quickly. So I tried to flash to my backup, which it did but it didnt like? So right now I had flash to a stock 5.0.1 rom from Sammoble to save the device. Everything is good now. I think support for this model is not good being its an international model? cheers
Thank you so much for that info @hiitsrudd.I am still searching for a rom on sammobile I could only find the latest kernel but its locked for premium users.Could you maybe send me a link for that stock rom PLEASE.Then I'll upgrade to 5.0.1 before flashing the custom one.Which RR did you flash 6.0.1 or 7.1.2?Ill gladly post how my flash went.

@hiitsrudd have you tried this rom

How's that Cyanogen mod going for ya?
Hi @hiitsrudd.Apologies for being so quite.I was exremely busy the past few weeks.Ok so i finally got some time to download that rom I mentioned to you.
I want to flash it now but I'm a bit worried.
1.When the dev posted a modem and he says flash through CWM, can I also flash it via TWRP?
2.Do I flash the modem before flashing the android rom?
3.Can I flash another updated modem instead of the one the dev used? For example there is newer modems available in the GearCM 5.1.1 can I flash that one instead?

@Relay85 not sure what you mean about flashing modem? I'm under the impression that a modem would be flashed with whichever ROM you choose? I've been busy with a kindle also, let me check into this later.
Anyway I believe you have TWRP installed so you should be good to go to flash any ROM of your choice, I would flash Magisk & the Gapps for you device as well. You should be okay, I'm assuming you downloaded the latest version of this ROM, because the Developer usually does updates. happy flashing:good: I pray for rain in your region too!
I have not seen a custom ROM include a modem. The modem is usually part of the stock ROM included with downloads from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.
If you want to flash a custom ROM, I suggest flashing the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com with Odin. This will ensure that the phone is running the latest stock bootloader and modem.
I do not recommend flashing a modem unless something is not working after flashing the custom ROM and it has been stated that flashing the custom modem will not cause any future issues with other ROMs.
Yep the GT-9500 has a LTE capable factory modem which should run in the custom ROM.
Hi guys ( @hiitsrudd and @audit13 ) thanks for both your replies.Really appreciate the help you gave me.
@hiitsrudd So I never flashed the custom rom I mentioned in my previous post because I read someone complaining about battery draining problems.
I flashed this custom rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9500-develop/ressurrection-remix-m-t3404556
and I have to say its amazing. Its fast, stable, battery life is about the same as stock android but performance is better in my opinion.I have not yet experienced any of the bugs they mentioned on the thread so I guess they fixed everything. But I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with this rom. I flashed the 5.7.4 version with gapps pico and everything works great.Im now looking for a kernel to flash just to see if I can get a bit more battery life but I'm not in a hurry cause the rom runs great as is.
I can highly recommend this rom if you are looking for something different than stock. Its really an awesome custom rom.The dev really did an amazing job with this one.I really like the startup logo aswell.Wish I had this rom on my other S4 I9505.I really miss that phone.
Anyway thanks for all your help @hiitsrudd.I really hope you give this one a shot. And I hope to speak to you again in the future.
Cheers for now.All the best to both you guys.
