Is this possible? I mean whenever I run mp3 through WMP or TCMPC my qtek does not return to suspend mode. I can off course turn off the screen, but suspend or sleep mode would be better for battery life.
Also, is it possible to keep wifi on with some applications while in suspend? Like SKype? I mean if you could keep it on, then you could receive calls through skype, if not, then what's the use of it...

Hi,
I´ve been having this problem for about 2 days. While mp3 playback, device wont go to sleep when I press power button. I have to pause/stop playback to do so. I dont know why. I havent installed anything before this. I´m using standard player provided by HTC.
This may not sound like a serious problem, but it kills battery real fast while its on. Is anyone having the same problem? Thanks for any answer.
is this without the headphones?
try this its a great lil programe allows soft reset also has a secondary feature called display switch, witch basically turns the screen off but not the phone. i always have this installed on every device ive ever owned.
Ditto - same issue. Its a bug.
The problem occurs when the device is in headset mode - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482027
No solution available AFAIK. Report it to HTC and the more of us that do it might get a hot fix! Cheers
Hello there,
has anyone an idea how to realize this:
blackstone is in standby - bluetooth is activated - bluetooth headset is on - both connected - call comes in - I take the call with the bt-headset - talk - I end the call with the bt-headset - blackstone remains on until the adjusted time for standby is reached
but I would like the blackstone switch into standby mode immediately after ending the call
is this possible ?

This needs addressed - sleep after a call during headset mode
In headset mode the phone does not go into sleep mode or power off automatically after a call. This is a major issue for those of us who leave the phone in the pocket in the car or when using bluetooth headsets. I have finished calls recently and then 5 or 10 mins later my phone would connect to someone random in the phonebook whilst driving which is quite embarrassing "I didnt call you" - "yes you did"!!
In the meantime I am using constant device lock but this is a clumsy solution for what surely MUST be a common problem. Can anyone else not help us out and try to get the device to sleep after a call during headset mode? I would be so grateful for a useful solution that doesnt involve a constant device lock that I dont really need!
Cheers
I'm having the same problem also....
The list grows - surely there must be others out there with the same problem. We should try and get out heads together to crack this one!

Sounds good man, keep up posted. Its a major issue for me too!
ok folks .. here is the very annoying answer i got from htc support
You recently wrote us about an issue that you have encountered with your HTC Touch HD. There is only one way to instantly set the device into standby mode: please press quickly the power on/off.
what shall i say ... THAT'S CRAP !!!
and i'm still thinking that there must be a workaround ... redefining the buttons or something like that ... any ideas from the specialists in here ?
c'mon guys - help us out here

that's really strange...just tested it.
connection htc/jabra bluetooth.
htc device lock ON.
an incoming call arrives, pick up the call via bt-headset. end the call via bt-headset. phone is immediately locked again (htc own device lock), display is on. after 1 minute also the display turns off.
or do you mean something completely different?
Same here and it feels retarted.
Ooe of the major purposes of a bluetooth headset is to avoid contact with the device. So having to take out the phone or handle it (in a car/office whatever) after a BT call is rediculous.
BT headset drops call
I am not sure if I should pose my questions here but my Jabra BT headset is connected to my Blackstone on standby mode via BT. However, when an incoming call comes, the BT headset does not get the call but is transfered to the HTC handset instead. I have no problems making outgoing calls on the Jabra headset. It's frustrating when I am driving... could anyone tell me how to remedy this?
Thanks in advance.
end call via BT into standby works with LockMeLite
hello there,
with LockMeLite http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478606 and my samsung wep250 bt-headset
it works
this headset is non-a2dp-capable
dunno if an a2dp capable headset will work, but will test is (next week)

I have tried flashing newer fancy roms and tried various lockers but no applications are intuitive enough to fix this simple fault. When making a call in 'headset mode' the fast sleep mode prevents accidental presses during a call. Unfortunately when the call is ended via handsfree/car kit/recipient, the phone wakes back up to life.
Any locker I have used is active indiscriminantly when pressing the power on button to wake the device from sleep. I have tried lockmelite, hd tweak for inbuilt MS lock, pocketshield and another locker however none have the function to only lock the device whilst in headset mode and after a call has ended. This is a request to developers, expert cooks and modifiers please can anyone help us out?
Thanks a million
Check this, it can do the trick...
h..p://www.pocketshield.net/default.htm
S2u2 V2.04 workes fineas you needs, even look during a call (gives black screen)
I'll do a try
As I have the same request/problem I'll try the following with the help of AGEProfile.
- I create a profile actived when the headphone is connected, when this profile is activated it launches a program named MySuspend so my phone is suspended.
- I create another profile activated when the headphone is connected and there is a call in progress, this profile does nothing but it exists (only)
So when my phone goes connected with the headset (BT) it goes suspended.
When I receive a call it wakeup as normal and the profile is switched to the second one (but does nothing)
When the call finishes, the first profile is activated again and the phone goes suspended.
That's all (and it should work, I just made the setup for that).
Regards,
P.S. sorry for my english because it's not my language.
I also have this same question. After ending the call the screen stays unlocked and will inadvertently call a number sometimes.
I tried
Yes I made a try yesterday evening in real conditions and it work very well
So I'm very happy
I forgot to mention that I also use the Inesoft to have the screen locked when one call come in.
Hope this will be useful for you too
Regards,
I hope i am not posting something which others have already posted i have seen this issue on the touch diamon2 aka raphael but not posted for the touch pro 2.
When i receive an email or sms and the phone is in standby i dont get an audible alert tone just vibrate unless the screen is on and this drains the battery.
I noticed that a fix was released for the diamond 2 but this will not work on the touch pro 2.
I have brought this to the attention of HTC and i am told in development. I have tried the registry tweaks but still no luck.
All that happens when phone is in standby it vibrates but no audible alert,
do you use HD TWEAK? and have you set the booster audio to the maximum? because ive had the same issue and unistalling hd tweak ive solved...
no sound
thanks for the reply do not used hd tweak , its on a vodafone stock rom . where can i set booseter audio to maximum. many thanks

with hd tweak..
Hmm I've got exactly same problem as you. No new SMS sound while in standby.
Yup I've done couple of tweaks probably one too many but which one.
Oh and I've not installed HD tweak....
no sms sound
Does anyone think this might be a registry tweak or is it a fault with the device. when i looked on htc they seemed to have the same issue with the touch diamond 2 . unfortunately the fix does not work on the touch pro2
I'd vote for registry, as everything was playing well begore my play with tweaking.
no sound
i tried a clear memory
and after still did not work - any ideas
fine during the day when phone on my belt but big problem at night
I don't have this problem at all? Maybe a stupid question, but did you enable a new SMS or email sound in the settings tab?
no sound in standby
my sounds works fine provided the screen is on the problem is when the phone goes in to standby or sleep mode
same problem here.. phone receives sms fine when it is on or when screen is just turned off with sound alerts. but once its been left in standby for a few hours the only alert i get is a the blinking green light when a sms comes in.. hopefully this will be fixed in the future roms
one of the workarounds is to enable smswakeup in the registry, some people have had success with this

Is someone else also facing this issue?
New Nexus 4 Silent mode issue
Hi,
Even I got a brand new Nexus 4 very recently as a birthday gift from my sister who stays in USA. I stay in India and even I am facing the same issue.
PROBLEM: The phone automatically toggles between ringer and silent mode when making calls.
Say if I've put the phone in silent mode, on making a call it will go to ringer mode and if im on ringer mode, making a call will get me to silent mode.
PS: Did you find any solution? It really gets annoying during meetings as you said.
Also if i reboot the phone this issue gets fixed for some time but again it starts happening.
I have already done a full factory reset twice. Nothing seems to be working for me. I know it's a software bug but it's a new device.
Any solutions??? Plss... Or did your problem get resolved? How if it did...
Sadly No solution to this problem.. But now a days trend has reversed fro me .. if i have it in vibrator mode and change it to ringer it chnages back to vibrator on its own.. this is frustating
Facing the same man... It's not a new problem... we are facing the same issue...
As I mentioned... if its on ringer it goes to vibrate and if its on vibrate it goes to ringer... But if you reboot it gets fine for some time.... then starts happening again...
Let me know if you find a solution. Otherwise have you experienced any screen Freezing during Incoming calls (Unable to pick up) and all? I'm facing that too...
what about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248866
Avg is the culprit according to that forum but.. I need to test it out.. tahnks anyways
AVG SUCKS! - It's the reason for all this chaos
AVG is the cause... Thanks a lot. It never occured to me that what was installed to protect my phone was the reason to corrupt its software.
Uninstalled it and now its perfectly fine. Love my Nexus 4.
