Hi there
I was looking at a galaxy tab in a o2 store today, I decided to install a few things =P. Then I decided to mess with live wall papers. It had the usual except for the google maps one. It says its a 2.1 feature with google maps. But I cant find it, any ideas? im using nordic 2.1
I didnt get it either and im also nordic 2.1. Not sure if SE took it out of the nordic firmware only or if they removed that wallpaper altogether. But since they went out of there way to purposely hide the 3d gallery from us id say they removed/hid it.
Cant you maybe download one from the market?

I was messing around with brut maps live wallpaper and I can't seem to zoom back. Probably needs multi touch. So that's my guess why it ain't there.

Anyone else have alot of lag when you open/scroll in the app drawer? I got alot of lagg and it doesn't look very nice. Anyone got this and found a solution?
I only have this problem after I updated to 2.1 like 3 weeks ago.
Yes i also have the same problem but that is only when using live wallpapers. Switch to normal one and see if it still lags.

Hey thanks that worked. What a stupid add-on to use Live Wallpapers if you can't use them properly.
Try launcher pro (free in the market) its much more stable and has tons of options! Pretty much everything is customisable...
You might have a lot of applications running on the background. Check the running application page in the settings. When I restart my phone I always go there first and shut down what I don't use, like the face recognition, etc...
Yea just turned off live wallpaper and no more lag on menu screen thanks just wish there was a way 2 live wallpaper on am not have that lag there

250

Doom LW is the one that gives me less lag in drawer, all the others give me a lot of lag in the drawer, a shame we don't have a good implementation for the gpu or the thing that give us that crap performance.
I get lag using the stock launcher and Launcher Pro, but not with ADW.
That's even with a live wallpaper, and I have ADW set to a transparent drawer so I see the live wallpaper there too.
Hi guys. Hope I'm posting this in the correct place.
I came from Blackberry recently and did alot of alpha testing for Bellshare, developer of Berryweather and other apps. Berryweather is by far the best weather app for Blackberry bar none. I have looked at every Android weather app I can find and there are none that come close to Berryweather. I'm trying to talk the dev into making an Android weather app equivalent to Berryweather but don't think he'll do it.
I think there is a great opportunity for an Android developer to make a really nice functional weather app. Any takers?

I came from Berry Weather and there are alot of weather apps that stack up.
Palmary Pro
Weatherbug Elite
Beautiful Widgets
The Weather Channel
What are you looking for that you dont see in android apps?
I've tried those and although they're decent apps they don't have alot of features Berryweather has.
Im used to many nice custom maps. Up to 10 locations. Customizable notifications with popup integration. Probably more I haven't thought of.

I'm in the same boat. I purchased 3 weather apps for my android phone and none of them will reliably follow my location like berry weather did. Now don't get me wrong they advertise that their app will do it, it just doesn't. I will second porting berry weather to android. Would pay if someone took it on.
The guy who made all of the custom maps for Berryweather has moved to android so he's game. Just need someone to develop the app.

MIUI/Bali running Vibrant
I don't know if anyone has posted this but I found a little trick that made me say "well duh that makes sense."
So I actually like the touchehiz launcher but was having a tough time keeping my apps straight with the new 2.3.3 version as it only allows an editable grid or alphabetical list. I tried adding an old modded version but got a force close. When I restored all my apps were alphabetical in a grid view again. I went about moving the apps around and then went to settings/application/all and cleared the data of TWLauncher and my apps are again alphabetical.
The downfall of doing this is you lose your Widgets but after awhile its the easiest way to clean up the app drawer.

Dude I know a lot of new people here will be delighted to know that but that has been known since anyone posted about wanting to rearrange apps in apps drawer. Nice though that you have the courage to post it again.
Well I may have just forgotten since I've become so accustomed to the modded tw launcher and know that we don't yet have a modded version for GB. I'm sure there is more than one or two frustrated trying to keep all their apps in order right now.

Go dig yourself a hole under that ungrateful bridge of yours.
Well know one, but the best method is download an app in market which can sort the Twlauncher in alphabetical order without cleaning the widget together.
It is call TouchWiz Application Sorter
+1 for the Application Sorter
As there is a plethora of weather widgets on the market, I have tried to find one that works well and displays my local climate, instead of the nearest major city (which can have drastically different weather than I do). So, I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good weather widget that will replace the clock on the A500 and display my local information, a clock, and possibly the next few days forecast.
Beautiful widgets? Best 3 bucks ive spent on the market...

Weather Widget from Read Transformer
I'm using both the weather widget and ice cube live wallpaper which was originally pre-installed on Asus Eeepad Transformer. They can be downloaded from Xoom discussion forum under theme discussion board.
My Acer could barely function with that live wallpaper from the Asus.
Got the same setup as Beanieandme and it runs smooth as silk mate.

I noticed from the Xoom thread that the apk's aren't signed, will they work in a non-rooted device?
I haven't rooted mine yet, still a little cautious on the whole thing in the event something happens. I'll likely do it once we see more custom roms and such and I know there's a definite way to back out of the rooted system if needed (e.g. Warranty/Peace of Mind).
Could someone post the link, I couldn't find the weather app
