Noticed on the Xperia x10 site that japan have realsed a new lock screen and theme.
Link below
http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/10/03...her-brings-live-wallpaper-to-your-xperia-x10/
Using it now on my x10. Im really enjoying it so far. Think I will keep it for a while.
Hmm not sure about it cant u change the live wallpaper? And end up with double lockscreens. Might have a go at editing the apk images dont like the icons

You cant change the live wallpapper But I think it looks good. Theres a issue with some widgets being cut (Does it with all beautiful home widgets) Dont have the issue with the 2 lock screens though.
Lol welli actually had 3 because im using flyscreen. Still prefer adw I think

I've tested it.
Here'sd the app : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V44GIZEX
I like the black theme... but the lockscreen is laggy sometimes and the animation background freeze sometimes.
EDIT : Need to reboot once after the installation. Now there is no lag. I've also noticed a related post there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797660
Yes.
and this has been posted already yesterday, in the XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps.
tested it and I like it more than the default theme. But it is kind of difficult to unlock using just one hand. Its definitely something you can get used to but I kind of miss the dockng bar of adw launcher.

Sorry didnt notice the other topic. Though I only looked in this section.
Wait, I thought this was a worldwide thing?
Well, way to go, SE Japan!

It's not that difficult, actually...
You'lll just have to drag te blob upwards. Don't have to touch the lock icon.
But the thing that I don't like about it is that I can't change wallpapers. I like the screen lock part, but I wanna use my own wallpaper =/
its the start maybe in the next version it will have the possibility to change wallpapers and other settings
I like the lock screen but I don't see myself using the launcher much... it cuts many widgets off... and I love my widgets
i like this lay out
cool stuff
But the lock screen lags, so i'm turning it off for now.
so, the lock screen can by used separately?
The best part about this launcher is if you are in the Application Drawer, click the little wrench in the right corner, and you can uninstall programs right there. Awesome.
I wonder if default lockscreen app can be overwritten directly in the file system...
perhaps this way would prevent old lockscreen "flashing"
ambient time
who uses it? if so is it draining your battery way too fast?
I've seen on mine that even when charging it the battery is being drained
thanks for the comments
Regards battery draining, no.
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
this is awesome but idk why when charging my phone and using this them the battery seems to be drained faster instead of charging
anyone has the same problem?
For me, so far ok. Not much difference and I have turn off the ambient time screen lock.
But notice that it will slow down a bit when you finish a call as it will load the ambient time home screen for a while without the icons then go back to lock screen.

Hi, I'm pretty new to the android world, and I know dhd runs on sense, so what would running something like launcherpro do? Is sense removed or is it just running in the background? Oh and must I root? sorry if I sound so noob :X
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
launcher pro is excellent, the best and smoothest android launcher, but has an initial learning curve
It doesn't need root, you can install it and make it the default launcher then restart your phone, once you do the sense launcher will not be loaded neither will the widgets.
but the framework of sense like gallery and mail for example will still be there, which is really a good thing since they are a lot better than stock android apps
No need to root and sense will still be there if you uninstall Launcher Pro..
You may want to look at my thread which is useful, it gives you custom icons and 100's of docks to use..
Its in the apps and themes forum..
I couldn't be without the scrollable dock now..
Ooo! Thanks basically, I install launcher pro, restart phone, and get a 'blank' home page?
What does launcher pro replace then, the 7 home screens? Does the keyboard change?
Will running launcherpro mean more artery consumption? And what do you mean by dock? Oh and, apps, accoubts, calendars all that still remain the same.right? I'll try to search for your thread thanks!
I love this forum thanks so much for bringing this new android user so much advice xD much is appreciated

Rixsta, could you mind posting the link to your thread? thank you!

LauncherPro is a great launcher.
Unlike Sense UI where it drains lots of battery power.
so if i just use it, without rooting, will battery life be drained very dramatically? sense UI doesnt suck battery in the background right?
Linked contacts all those will be gone i presume? if i use launcher pro
Okay, I just downloaded launcherpro free, any way for me to get more widgets, like a clock?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Your best bet is to go to applications in settings then find htc sense. Click on it and select force stop, that will clear the defaults. Then press your home button and tick always choose this option and click on launcher pro. No reboot required

thanks~ now fiddling around with launcher pro, but is there any guide to make my notification bar like the stock one, which is white? or any tips on getting widgets?
I thought beautiful widgets had loads of widgets -_- i bought, and didnt know only is weather. too late to refund ~_~
oh does using launcher pro increase the battery usage? because is the htc sense UI some how running in the background?
I love launcher pro, but I keep getting prompts to set my default home when I use widgetlocker
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Using launcher pro has approximately doubled my battery life. I was getting only 2 - 6 hours out of a charge before now 5 - 12. All the things that were burning juice like maps sync, freindstream just dont run constantly anymore.

Notification bar - switch back to HTC Sense, find a theme which has a white top bar, switch to that theme in HTC Sense and then go back to your launcher. You will still get the status bar at the top and lock screen according to your HTC Sense theme settings.
Widgets - well, i think best would be for you to look at this forum :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=527
and especially these two themes :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761517
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476483
To your other questions - alternative launchers replace just your home, that means the main screens + application list. The rest still runs like if you had HTC Sense home.

Select your home in settings of WidgetLocker (Settings>Behavior>Select System Home or HomeHelper's Launcher, depends if you use HomeHelper or not).
First let me say I'm not rooted. With that out of the way, are there any home launchers that are optimized for this tegra 2 phone? I've used ADW, Launcher pro, and Go Launcher and all 3 of them ran slightly slower than just using the stock launcher.

Since dual core is so new there are no launchers or even many apps that make any use of the extra power

Unfortunately that's what I was afraid of. Has anyone had any success with a home launcher running fast and smoothly on a non rooted atrix?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
GO Launcher EX ran fast on my non-rooted Atrix. There are a lot of settings for GO Launcher and I just set all the transitions to the fastest settings and it ran fine. I didn't notice any lag at all. I'm rooted now and I'm still using GO Launcher EX.
In fact I'm using all their add-ons for SMS, Dialer, Weather, Score, etc and they all run pretty fast on the Atrix.

When you installed the launcher, did you remove all the widgets you had on the stock launcher? If you didn't, they'll still be there running even when you use a new launcher. Remove everything then add the new launcher and set it up the way you like. Should be a lot smoother.
Also, have you tried Zeam? It's fairly minimal but quick.

Yeah, I went through all the usual proper steps. Just for kicks I just reinstalled go launcher a few hours ago. Within 1 hour it started freezing my phone causing my screen to either stutter or just go totally unresponsive. Going to go back to adw and see if it happens with that

It's a strong possibility.
Since my Galaxy S, I've stopped using all running widgets.
Actually come to think of it, all my current icons are shortcuts which is probably why Launcher Pro runs as smooth as butter for me...

Running adw ex.. noo slow downs whatsoever

+1 for zeam, I've been using it for months now and its very smooth. It is very minimal by comparison to most others though.... which is what I was looking for actually.
Im using go launcher and having no problems whatsoever... I also use fancy widget on my home screen.
Have also used both lpp and adw* both ran pretty good as well. I just prefer go launcher

Root, flash GladiAtrix 3, then use ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro. I use both. You will see a significant speed increase.

Get to the french 2.1.1 sbf section and get to there... Its seriously fun
on a side note go launcher ex just got updated and there are some new app drawer animations that I like.
Sent from my Googletron
Ive used both Launcher Pro Plus and GO Launcher EX extensively, and GO Launcher EX has been the smoothest, fastest, best launcher.
I can vouch for the new update with the Icon Transition in the app drawer, its pretty slick. Good stuff here.. not sure how the GO team keeps this stuff free.
same as post above, golauncher is just as good if not better than lp plus, and its free. no brainer
I've been using various launchers, Launcher Pro is really quick, ADW Ex is rather nice and stable, but Go Launcher is the best (combination of horizontal app drawer with folders does it for me).
My problem is, Go Launcher grinds to a halt after about 2 hours, goes from being really smooth when flicking between homescreens and using the app drawer to a mess of force closes and broken promises (ok, not the last bit!)
Anyone else getting this issue? I've kept it on the phones memory (even going as far to turn it into a system app in titanium backup).
I'd really like to continue using Go Launcher, but it's not cool having to reboot the phone a few times a day to get it working properly.
Go Launcher is laggy as hell.
Using Launcher Pro Plus. Best Launcher.
I've used Go Launcher for a long time, and for me it's only been the last couple of updates that have made it laggier. My Gmail notification in the dock is messed up, and I've had a few force closes. The Go Devs are pretty quick about updates so I'll send them a tweet and send the data after a force close, but I'm definitely feeling the lag and stuff with the recent updates.

Same here, fast as lightening for me, although sometimes the app draw has to redraw
Just installed it last week and have had no problems.
I just got it a few days ago or so and I love it. I'm finding new stuff all day. I need to get more themes though. I need a good Superman or Batman theme. I prefer Superman though.
Not green lantern?
I've uninstalled mine to, it does become very laggy in certain situations where more memory is required.
Mine has never lagged and I've been using a heavily configured and themed go launcher for about 6 weeks.
Did you make sure the default sony ericsson home service is shut off, and go launcher is set to default? I did it with a home screen manager.

Ever since it was introduced no phone has been able to quickly swipe through it without lag. I thought that the galaxy S3 had lag in the drawer because of lack of ram but its shocking to see that even the nexus 4 widget drawer has lag if you swipe very fast.
Whats most puzzling is that the widget drawer is only showing static widgets so I dont understand why it is so demanding. Seems like its not handled properly in the framework or something.
Top it that with live wallpaper
It's totally fine on mine and a lot of others phones. The reason the S3 lags is cause of the touchwiz skin weighing it down. Touchwiz sucks. That's why nexus-es with stock roms FTW!

just switched it to horizontal and it's fine also. mind you, it stops at each page so i'm not sure if that might be what you're mistaking for lag.

I don't get why people purposely try to lag down their phone by doing something they would never do in daily use (opening and closing as many apps as possible as fast as they can, swiping around as fast as humanly possible, etc) and then complain about lag? Just use the phone then see if it lags

Nah, that's too logical for the internet
@OP, I see what you mean and I experience the same thing but only if I actually try to make it lag. It's probably due to some sort of lack of optimisation, but tbh I just sorted out my homescreen once and don't really go back and reorganise it so I don't see any issues. I know that you're not complaining but just asking about it, so I thought I'd confirm that I have the same experience.

For some reason the widget drawer is much faster with vertical scrolling.
Nova launcher just delays the animation in the widget drawer if it can't show it fast enough but on stock launcher it will actually cause a stutter. The developer of nova launcher is an absolute genius.
I still don't see a technical reason why a nexus 4 can't just blaze through the widget drawer.
The guy talking about the xperia Z launcher well its handled very differently and mind you more efficiently in Sony launcher.

Actually this isn't true for this case. When I want to select a widget that's at the end of the drawer then I would swipe as fast as I can to get to it. Infinite scrolling causes even more performance issues with the widget drawer mind you so that's not a better option in this scenario.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
It does lag, it's true.
I run stock now but have tried all different roms and kernel combinations. And then all different governor/scheduler combinations. Swiping quickly through widgets always produces lag after a few pages. Even using nova/apex.
It doesn't bother me anymore (used to when I was a crack flasher), but it's undeniable.
Just install a different launcher like Nova lag free.

Ok, so my phone is normal. I thought it was my phone. I see the hesitations and stutter only in widget draw running completely stock.
It doesn't bother me that much, but I am curious to know why that is only in widget section.
I can't reproduce this lag in my widget drawer. Using a CM based rom (modaco cm kang r9) with Trebuchet. Just saw a slight lag / stutter with Buzz launcher but I can't see it with Nova
Sent from my Oric-1 microcomputer
I'm experiencing this too. Thought i was the only one!
It happens occasionally on mine though when i swipe real fast. Sometimes it lags terribly, like, i could see the pages stutter and struggle to load the widgets. And sometimes it's just super smooth.
Don't know for sure, but maybe it has something to do with some of the apps installed. Because the lag always happens on the exact same pages i swipe through. Mine is on the first 3 to be exact. And that's where all of my google widgets are placed, strangely.
Maybe it's just an issue with my device though. Running rooted stock 4.2.2 btw.
No lag here. I turned off animations and am using Nova launcher and I am underclocked to 1.2ghz.
