i updated my x10 to android 2.1 . i face a few problems
1. when i charge my mobile the battery meter is not going above 96%.
2. when i try to connect my bluetooth headset (Nokia) is not connecting!! (Worked well in android 1.6)
3. Wifi and bluetooth scanning is not showing any users available (if wifi and bluetooth users are available)
1. Are you using the AC charger or USB? Try the AC charger from a wall outlet.
2. There's an issue with the Bluetooth after the 2.1 upgrade, many people have a problem, not just you. Unfortunately I haven't seen a solution yet. Some people recommend using Astro Bluetooth from Market. It didn't help me.
3. Ditto for bluetooth, not sure why you can't connect via wifi. Do you have the right passwords/permissions?
You could also try reinstalling/repairing the update via SEUS or PC Companion.

My device ( see below ) is a Imate Jas Jar, the cable that connects has a mini usb to a normal usb connection for connection to PC ( with active sync).
I am soon to travel and the hotel rooms have broadband with the connection being a standard network cable. If I get a adapter for the normal usb to the standard network cable, will I get the INTERNET into my device.
Does my device have a network card like functionality on the end of the mini usb cable.
Please advise...
Never heard of that kind of rig,,, I travel with my O2 Exec and have always been able to hook up to my hotel highspeed via my wifi service in the O2.
Some hotels have USB connections at the hub for High speed so you should call the hotel and ask if they have a wifi hotspot or USB connection instead of the normal LAN cable connect.
The hotel that I am staying at have wifi in the lobby only.
No you can't. Your phone does not have USB host function on it. Get yourself a SD-WiFi
My god, whats SD Wifi ???
Or get yourself a wireless travel router, which is what I use. Works quite well for both the universal and laptops.
There are several models available, I show you this one (which I have) as an example:
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...241008&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper
The wireless travel router is the best suggestion.
The Universal already has WiFi, so no idea why someone suggested an SD WiFi card.
Nothing that connects via USB will work as the Universal does not support USB Host mode.
Most wireless routers for connection to a cat5 socket cable or dsl modem will also work, the are just not as small and neat as a travel router.

Why would you think that anyone with tornado A2DP experence would be reading a post on network connections in the universal forum, you might try looking for answers here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=285
What I did in the past was setup my notebook as an access-point (sorta). Since my notebook could accept CAT5, and has WiFi, what I did was connect CAT5 to notebook, enable "Internet Connection Sharing" on the wifi. Create a P2P (adhoc) connection with Universal -- and voila, internet access for Universal via WiFi within the room.

BTW, why don't you reflash your ROM with an AKU2.0 ROM so that you can have NATIVE A2DP support?
BTW, another vote for a travel router. It's pretty useless to look for a SD-based wired Ethernet card - I only know of CF-based ones. (And they suck too - they have REALLY bad power consumption)
My Question as i presumed it wud be was for BILLB
Hi
My question was addressed to BILLB and never meant for everyone in the forum, Gladly, we have nice minded people like you who have directed me to an available solution. Incidentally i upgraded my rom to AKU 3.2 and it supports A2DP Beautifully, but the sound is broken frequently, so am hunting at newwer grounds.

Thanx Minnesys...

oo.. sorry OOT..
i'm getting to use Atom Life recent days, it's realy possiable to SYNC with PC via BT.(My Laptop have build-in BT module)
but there is some diff with SYNC via USB cable, SYNC via BT, you must establish your connect from PPC, where is SYNC, menu, connect with BT
then your laptop will receive a message, ask you to connect or not
I'm getting an HTC Touch Vogue in about a week or so. I am a bit frustrated that Sprint still doesn't offer EVDO in my area (Beaumont, TX which isn't exactly tiny). Since WiFi is sacrificed in the Touch, I was wondering if one can use the bluetooth to share internet from the PC? If so, are there any specific requirements as far as a bluetooth adapter on the PC side, or would most generic bluetooth adapters work?
Thanks!
syncmate
i have seen something about sync mate 1.4 doing this, but have had no luck myself.
Getting it to work isn't straightforward, but as long as your data plan includes PAM (phone-as-modem), it DOES work, and is officially supported. You don't even need official drivers from Sprint to do it.
There's a caveat, though: if you have a bluetooth mouse and you tether the phone via bluetooth & activate internet sharing, the mouse's performance is going to go to hell. It'll stutter, miss clicks, and generally drive you nuts. As a result, I now carry a short USB cable, and almost always tether via usb if I'm using my mouse too.
Make sure you do the following steps in order:
1. Connect the phone via usb and sync. If you can't do this, I guarantee you won't be able to get online, either.
2. Share the phone's internet connection via usb. If you can't share via usb, I can guarantee you won't be able to share via bluetooth, either.
3. Disconnect the usb, and try to sync via bluetooth. If you can't sync via bluetooth, you won't be able to share the internet via bluetooth, either.
4. Share the phone's internet connection via bluetooth. If it doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the phone (go to bluetooth neighborhood, right-click the phone's icon, choose "connect"), and make sure you successfully managed to do steps 1-3. Until the first 3 steps work, you're wasting your time with step 4. ;-)
^^^ I think lotherius is trying to use his home internet connection to share internet with his phone (accessing through your PC/Mac as opposed to through your phone) Hours of goggling has led me to nothing on this
edit:
if your using a pc, doesnt activesync have a pass through feature that allows this?
If what you're saying is you want to view internet on your phone, through bluetooth on your computer, then yes, it is completely possible. On my phone all I have to do is sync my phone via bluetooth, and it works automatically.
Back in WM times I used to have my phone connected to the PC via Bluetooth and other than syncing it would also share the internet connection available for the PC.
With Android builds it seems that Bluetooth doesn't function. It can't discover anything, nor it be discovered.
Does anyone have idea how it could be done?
I had originally paired my Nexus 7 with my DHD such that they were paired with BT, and at any time I can connect to the DHD from the Nexus and I would have internet access on the tablet.
On the DHD, in addition to the blue BT icon, I would also have a BT tethering notification on the top left of the status bar.
This morning, all that changed – for seemingly no reason.
I could connect fine, but the BT tethering icon was not there on the DHD. The tablet would connect, but it reported that the internet connection was not available.
I tried unpairing and pairing, and rebooting both devices.
Since then, the problem has significantly worsened.
I can still see and pair both devices fine. The pairing code comes up on both devices and I am able to confirm that the codes match and the pairing appears to work. That's where my success ends. I tap on the device to connect, and it says "connecting..." for a few seconds, and then returns to the original, unconnected state. If I touch the device again to connect, it will not only flash up for a fraction of a second "connecting..." and revert back.
This happens regardless if I try to connect to the tablet from the phone, or vice versa.
I figured the BT stack must have been corrupted somehow on one of the 2 devices, so I tried pairing the tablet and phone to my dad's Galaxy Nexus and also his Nexus 7. I can pair anything to anything, but can't connect from anything to anything.
I am rooted on both my devices, but neither of his.
I tried the program "Bluetooth fix repair" from play store, which requires root access, which claims to fix some bluetooth problems. I tried it on both the tablet and phone. After a restart, I notice it has reset my bluetooth settings like the device name, etc. It didn't fix the problem. I can still pair the tablet to the phone, but can't connect.
Any ideas what may have happened and how I can fix it?
Tablet is running stock jellybean with root, and phone is running AOSPx BR3 from XDA.
I've run into the same issues! Trying to connect my GN to my N7 over BT shows that they pair, showing the same PIN, but won't connect. Previously, I could connect my GN to my Xoom but no longer.
I've flashed back to stock on both devices (I'll do so later on the Xoom) to eliminate as many variables as possible, and I'm still getting a connection. GN is now back to IMM76K and N7 is running JRO03D, only change is supersu on both. They connect perfectly fine to my laptop but will not connect to each other. I noticed that some people got good results by turning off WiFi but that didn't help me at all. I know BT worked on my GN because I could connect to 2 different BT units in 2 different cars.
Some people are going to ask why not use Wifi. Well, I have poor reception at home and I'd like to retain internet connection on both while using Tablet Talk (which I have yet to be able to use...).
I'm tethering via bluetooth as well. Its frustrating that when I walk away with my phone, the tablet will not auto-connect via bluetooth. I have to go back and connect the two.

I can confirm I'm having the same issue. Only way to repair is to do a full device wipe. Power on / off doesnt seem to correct.
Confirmed this is the case iwth my N7 and Galaxy Nexus Stock Rooted and CM9 Galaxy Note.
BTW reason people want to do this is because BT tethering has very low battery life cost particularly compared to wifi tethering which will flatten a galaxy nexus in ~3 hrs.
Love to hear if anyone else found a fix for this!
Try This
I had the same issue. I went into the more settings on my phone for Wireless & Networks/Tethering & portable hotspots. Make sure the bluetooth tethering is checked. After i did this i had no issues using my phone internet through BT. I have a T989 running CM9 RC2. My N7 is rooted running the stock rom. Hope this helps.

I can confirm I was having the exact same problem as everyone else and this fixed it for me. The only other thing I had to do was connect FROM the Nexus, not the phone (an HTC Sensation). Trying to connect from the phone was a no-go. Thanks!
I cant pair my Nexus 7 with my Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth headset.
