You can go straight from JHA to JK5 without any problem as far as I know. (Worked for me at least)

ah the jj3 is 529meg so that must have novahd, samsung movies etc on it, i took your advice and went straight to jk5, im impressed with the speed increase. i wonder if i can get nova hd elsewhere

JJ3 is a FULL firmware flash (repair center flash, basically, and not meant for public use), while JK5 is simply a firmware update (the type that Samsung releases to the public via Kies), hence the size difference.

JK6 seems to be a full firmware flash as well. I gathered data in this discussion thread:

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Officially released for SGS

While reading trough my huge list of RSS feeds, i've found this news posted just few hours ago: linkhttp://www.sizzledcore.com/2010/09/11/flash-player-10-1-for-samsung-galaxy-s-released-download-now-from-android-market/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+SizzledCore+(Sizzled+Core)
The Author says that Today, Google has released Flash Player 10.1 For Samsung Galaxy S and it is available in the Android Market.
No Changelog provided.
I guess it's for JPC Users. Did you received the update? Is there any news or performance boost? It seems to be a version developed just for our device.
Let us know
I can confirm it. Updating it now, on JPC firmware. Will check for performance boost, it was pretty terrible for watching video before.
Edit: Still terrible in DolphinHD web browser. Not much use in the stock browser since JPC firmware removed the user agent setting.
Tested in some, err, adult site. Youtube seems like a pointless test since the Youtube app is better to use.
Third sign that froyo is coming (I confirm available on jpc)
Screenshots posted on that post. And it's only available for JPC for now.
Not sure we need signs that Froyo is coming, Samsung already said it was..
Also keep in mind though, it doesn't mean JPC is final, and it's still recommended people use kies (especially since some people appear to have been getting corrupt IMEI's after downgrading)

Well some people say that Samsung wasn't going to release froyo in time but maybe during october and those signs seems to show that they where/are wrong
videos run fine in flash except ones when it says "unoptimized for mobile" then performance is bad (1 frame every 2 sec or so)
i have 10.1 beta i grabbed somewhere in the forums, i suppose final is similar

Why not use my patched stock browser with useragent setting..
It was available in google market for JP3 aaages ago aswell. So nothing new here.
That being said, there are other signs pointing towards froyo soon hehe
Odd way how things go...
They officialy release flash while 2.2 isn't even out yet...
Samsung said it would be released in september but i wouldn't be suprised if it took them 2 more months before they release it.
2.2 is out for many other devices
Galaxy S is not the only Android phone you know? LOL

since it is open source os , dell cannot deny you messing around with the files on it nor deny you any warranty (which is for the hardware itself.)

Hi,
When I check for updates, the browser navigates using my oem number, gausb1a11100 and no updates are available...but if I put in my baseband number - gausb1a110700 it shows an update is available.
Is it worth. Waiting for the oem to go live or risk it with the baseband update?

Are you in the UK Because 00-eu can get the update but 00 cannot in the uk yet,IF you look at your baseband it may say 00-EU but when the device looks for the update it looks for 00 not 00-EU . unless you change the baseband in the browser
I'm in the US and I updated my unlocked GAUSB1A111100-EU 6267 streak with the OTA 309_0_00 version released by dell last week. Froyo forks like a charm, with no issues.

Yes i get the same error, but i dont use the stock browser. I have skyfire set as my default and opera mini for my alterate browser. No problems with redirects or force closed errors using them.
Gavelis, I have a stock att streak which i upgraded to the 309 2.2 software. I too get redirects on those web pages and some others. I have tried resetting the cache, ect.. but nothing has worked. The only way I have "fixed" it is by using the firefox browser which never seems to give the error. Anyone have an idea how to fix this with the stock bowser??

Okay, thx. Hmmm. I love Dolphin HD (and stock should also work). Maybe it works with (some) other browsers but in my eyes it´s a bug which should be solved by Dell.
I think Dell will (hopefully) bring an updated Firmware if enough people complain about this. I already twittered stephenjatdell who asked for feedback on Streak OTA froyo. Also that I dont like stage But on the other hand I found no big other errors. So a pretty good made firmware (if the redirect-bug will be solved).

[SC-02C] Japan NTT DoCoMo Galaxy S II Users

NTT DoCoMo SC-02C FAQ in progress, coming soon...
Q: What is the difference between the SC-02C and other Galaxy S II models?
A: The FM radio on the "international I9100" is missing, and in its place is an ISDB-T digital TV receiver. (Similar to but using a different broadcast protocol as the DMB receivers in the korean M250 models) The SC-02C does not have NFC capabilities, like all models except the M250.
Q: How can I unlock the SC-02C?
A: The unlock used for other early Galaxy S II models will not work on the SC-02C. You can have the handset unlocked at your nearest DoCoMo shop for 3150 yen (tax-inclusive). This does not supposed to affect your monthly billing.
Q: Where can I find original SC-02C firmware if I need to return the handset for service?
A: There is not an official version of the OMKF2 firmware that the earliest released handsets came with, however you may obtain a copy of the first update, OMKG5, here.
Q: What is the current version firmware?
A: The final firmware version is OMMP7 (Android 4.0.3)
Q: What's the deal with tethering?
A: If you use tethering (i.e. mobile access point) you may find your monthly pakehodai charge has increased to 10,395 yen/mo. Its suspected that turning the built-in tether feature switches you invisibly to a different APN which generates an increase on the bill.
Q: How do I activate the Palette UI that Docomo is advertising?
A: Use the 'Home Switcher' application or clear the defaults for 'TwLauncher' in Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
Q: Can I use I9100 images (and custom ones) on the SC-02C (or vice-versa)?
A: To an extent yes, there are a couple issues:
1. The kernel/baseband must be for SC-02C or else you will lose GPS/One-Seg functionality. (You can generally flash these back after installing a custom image)
2. The SC-02C has a different partition layout, FACTORYFS is 100MB larger than I9100 and HIDDEN is 100MB smaller. The disk usage on the current OMxxx images does not exceed the size of the I9100 partition, however it is VERY close and the SC-02C's partition table was likely laid out different to allow for additional growth.
Got it now, factory standard firmware is:
PDA: SC02COMKF2
Phone: SC02COMKF2
CSC: SC02CDCMKF2
(Yes, those SC02C prefixes ARE correct, not GTI9100)
I'll see if I can extract original firmware from Kies tonight when I get home.
DoCoMo is bundling a 1GB microSD, and selling the charger seperately (I have 3 other micro-usb-charging phones so no big deal).
Oh, and I think the Palette stuff must have been removed at the last minute, I can't find any trace of it.
Kies firmware info:
SC02COMKF2/SC02CDCMKF2/SC02COMKF2/SC02COMKF2
ProductCode - SGH-N033LKNDCM
Yes, these ARE different than the usual format, I know.
They ARE correct though, direct cut & paste out of my Kies registry keys.
(DCM obviously DoCoMo and SC-02C is the japanese-market name for the handset, Galaxy S was SC-02B)
The Palette UI is something you have to download from the market.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nttdocomo.app.paletteui&feature=search_result
I'm picking mine up on Sunday
Actually its NOT. I later found out how to activate it (there's an app called "home switcher" or something which lets you toggle back and forth between Palette and TW4). Its just as nasty as the promo videos make it out to be.
On other fronts, I rooted today. There don't appear to be any firmware images available on kies for the SC-02C so I had to take a leap of faith and try to root without a backup kernel to go back to. CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KF2-v4.0-CWM4.zip did work though. CF-Root kernel seems to lack support for the one-seg TV though.
The big downer - the nv_data.bin hashes for unlock keys are using a non-zero salt, which means an unlock will be hard to come by without foregoing handset subsidies.
I guess I keep my Galaxy Ace for use on overseas trips for the time being.
so.....
If I get the docomo SGS II can I put whatever ROMs on the phone that are available for vanilla USA SGS II?
The whole reason I have a vibrant here in Japan, instead of the docomo SGS, is because there are no ROMs available for the docomo phone (that I know of).
Please advise. I might go get one this week...
I'm so happy. DoCoMo called at 1845 to tell me I could pick up my SC-02c. Of-course by the time I got to the shop they were closed so I'm going to have to burn half a days leave today and try to beat the crowd. It was a surprise because when I pre-ordered they told me all of the first order were already sold so I guess they either got a bigger shipment than expected or there were some cancellations. I'm guessing that since CF-Root worked we will probably get a crack at some custom ROM's unlike the SC-02b.
Its probably obvious but I'd be very wary about flashing the baseband image on an SC-02C in Odin since DoCoMo are obviously doing something different in there as evidenced by the differences in unlock. CSC/PDA will probably be OK though.
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_ODD_KE8-v4.0-CWM4.tar got my SC-02C rooted.
Haven't messed with ROMs yet. Haven't even had the phone for 2 hours. hahahaha

Sorry I forgot to mention the one-seg not working. I never use it so no big loss for me.
Any particular reason you used KE8 rather than KF2 to match the rest of the firmware already on the handset?
My GPS seems to work OK. I don't think it would be affected, since my guess is that'd go through the baseband.

I need to fix my signature the kernel in my sig is for my SC-02B not the SC-02C I did use the KF2 Kernel for rooting my Galaxy S II.

LPQ (ICS) is just annoying and unreliable.

Seriously don't know how people can endure this build, it's slowly driving me goddamned insane compared to 2.3.3 or 2.3.6
Just to clarify.
Retail outright purchased full unlocked GT-I9100
Android 4.0.3
Baseband: I9100XXLPQ
Kernel 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505
[email protected]#3
Build number: IML74K.XXLPQ
Maybe I flashed something bad over the top to give me root access? Maybe it's a dodgy root kernel or tool or some stupidity :/
I'm having all kinds of stupid, odd problems.
Winamp: Crashes 1-3 times a week
Winamp: Stops playing music, no apparent reason, just stops about 2-5 times a week (headset not pulled out) – go back in to app, pause button is available as if it's playing but timer isn't going, hit pause / play – nothing occurs (re-boot required)
Swype: The 'suggestion' box (bar) row thingo at the top of the letters, dissapears once or twice a week when typing something, literally can't fix mistakes or anything, close message – go back into whatever app I was typing in, still stuffed. (re-boot required)
General use "the animation" especially in Gmail and Google chat is AWFUL – and I think it's tied to Swype – when the bar appears / disapears, it does this pixel in / pixel out animation which is really slow and disorienting as it moves all the words up 1 row to fit in the suggesiton bar. This is SPECIFICALLY only when you're at the very bottom row of an email, I recall a similar issue on GB on my HTC HD2 – it's just bad design. (Can anyone else re-create this? Makes google chat utterly awful)
GPS is significantly less accurate in Endomondo
Its well known that LPQ is just bad
get the XWLP7 works great after clean install
LPQ is old
get LP7 or LP8
Why don't you simply go back to GB or try a custom ROM?
My only gripe about the "Official" ICS firmware is the dodgy scrolling. But I'm on an AOKP based ROM so all I experience is beautiful smoothness

You can get a version that does load but it looks like the server side hasn't been updated. This happened with 4.4.4

Correction, the s7 edge does see the app but only in the galaxy apps store. Version is 6.0.28
Now how to get a copy of it of the phone.... hmmm
Spent time with Samsung live chat and they connected to my phone. "I check information and your device is not compatible, a update to the app will allow you to download from the Play Store"
Contacted the Kids Mode support team again, probably one of the slowest response rates out there but still nothing.
