the 315 BB seems much better that the 305 on o2 for me
if you're on o2 and concerned about your warranty then there's only a couple of days more to wait, according to Dell..

since it is open source os , dell cannot deny you messing around with the files on it nor deny you any warranty (which is for the hardware itself.)

Hi,
When I check for updates, the browser navigates using my oem number, gausb1a11100 and no updates are available...but if I put in my baseband number - gausb1a110700 it shows an update is available.
Is it worth. Waiting for the oem to go live or risk it with the baseband update?

Are you in the UK Because 00-eu can get the update but 00 cannot in the uk yet,IF you look at your baseband it may say 00-EU but when the device looks for the update it looks for 00 not 00-EU . unless you change the baseband in the browser
I'm in the US and I updated my unlocked GAUSB1A111100-EU 6267 streak with the OTA 309_0_00 version released by dell last week. Froyo forks like a charm, with no issues.

hmmm. i have the same baseband and used the same update, but on a lot of sites i got the redirect error with stock browser or Dolphin HD. Can you please test stock browser with http://www.android-hilfe.de or http://android.modaco.com? Do the pages load or do you also get an error like "too many server-redirects"? Thx in advance
Yes I amm in the uk with an unlocked direct from dell 00-eu device
Funny how the baseband works but the oem number doesn't!
Probably a stupid question, but when are we expexting a live link in th uk?!

Yes i get the same error, but i dont use the stock browser. I have skyfire set as my default and opera mini for my alterate browser. No problems with redirects or force closed errors using them.
Gavelis, I have a stock att streak which i upgraded to the 309 2.2 software. I too get redirects on those web pages and some others. I have tried resetting the cache, ect.. but nothing has worked. The only way I have "fixed" it is by using the firefox browser which never seems to give the error. Anyone have an idea how to fix this with the stock bowser??

Okay, thx. Hmmm. I love Dolphin HD (and stock should also work). Maybe it works with (some) other browsers but in my eyes it´s a bug which should be solved by Dell.
I think Dell will (hopefully) bring an updated Firmware if enough people complain about this. I already twittered stephenjatdell who asked for feedback on Streak OTA froyo. Also that I dont like stage But on the other hand I found no big other errors. So a pretty good made firmware (if the redirect-bug will be solved).

I just received a new ota update on my Legend ( european / dutch version). The changelog was:
-Enhance data connection stability
-Fix loss of ringtone for incoming call
Also noticed : other quickoffice icon , pinch to zoom in googlemaps ( didn't have it before not even with the newest update from the market).
Update is : 24.37MB, and it now says 2.1 update 1 , software version now is : 2.05.405.2
Maybe there are more changes , but haven't found them out by now
Same for belgian htc legend i just updated my software looks like a maintenance release while i was hoping for froyo to come

When is froyo gonna come out already
It's live in Sweden as well. It's installing as we speak
Here in Norway too ...
We all know Froyo gonna take a while. But I do think HTC will loose a lot of customers if they don't speed up the updates. 12 weeks waiting in the android world is like 12 years in the real world. When the Froyo is out its already outdated. Just look at the Hero ...
Maps
I was hoping to get Google maps 4.4 with that update but unfortunately it's 4.1 only... One more time I got evidence that Santa doesn't exist
Just updated 2.03.405.3 to 2.05.405.2. Worked like a charm. Hope to see 2.2 update soon. Anyway Legend works pretty well with 2.x.x ROMs and is very fast.

just to check, which european firmware do i have to flash in order to receive this OTA update?
I have now 3 times tried to download the update and installing it...
Every time the phone reboots.. reading the package... Then end up in the screen with the red triangle...
What can be the problem? I have tried to get the update both from 3G and WiFi..
Maybe your phone is rooted.

I defently notice the enhance data connection stability.
I live in Norway and its not flat at all like Denmark So the connection is very unstable because of all the up and downs. Works MUCH better now! Love it
Problems since updating...
After updating to 2.05.405.2, messages (sms) starts at the top of the thread so I need to scroll all the way down to see the most recent/new ones. A real hassle with those long threads!!
With every restart of the phone I am being prompted to change settings for the SIM-card, getting a list of carriers to choose from.
Any thoughts?
While reading trough my huge list of RSS feeds, i've found this news posted just few hours ago: linkhttp://www.sizzledcore.com/2010/09/11/flash-player-10-1-for-samsung-galaxy-s-released-download-now-from-android-market/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+SizzledCore+(Sizzled+Core)
The Author says that Today, Google has released Flash Player 10.1 For Samsung Galaxy S and it is available in the Android Market.
No Changelog provided.
I guess it's for JPC Users. Did you received the update? Is there any news or performance boost? It seems to be a version developed just for our device.
Let us know
I can confirm it. Updating it now, on JPC firmware. Will check for performance boost, it was pretty terrible for watching video before.
Edit: Still terrible in DolphinHD web browser. Not much use in the stock browser since JPC firmware removed the user agent setting.
Tested in some, err, adult site. Youtube seems like a pointless test since the Youtube app is better to use.
Third sign that froyo is coming (I confirm available on jpc)
Screenshots posted on that post. And it's only available for JPC for now.
Not sure we need signs that Froyo is coming, Samsung already said it was..
Also keep in mind though, it doesn't mean JPC is final, and it's still recommended people use kies (especially since some people appear to have been getting corrupt IMEI's after downgrading)

Well some people say that Samsung wasn't going to release froyo in time but maybe during october and those signs seems to show that they where/are wrong
videos run fine in flash except ones when it says "unoptimized for mobile" then performance is bad (1 frame every 2 sec or so)
i have 10.1 beta i grabbed somewhere in the forums, i suppose final is similar

Why not use my patched stock browser with useragent setting..
It was available in google market for JP3 aaages ago aswell. So nothing new here.
That being said, there are other signs pointing towards froyo soon hehe
Odd way how things go...
They officialy release flash while 2.2 isn't even out yet...
Samsung said it would be released in september but i wouldn't be suprised if it took them 2 more months before they release it.
2.2 is out for many other devices
Galaxy S is not the only Android phone you know? LOL

Ok, just got the update notification now downloading 1% done
I just got the notification too.
I'm in Melbourne. it's on 2% only after about half an hour. My guess is that the servers are struggling
Got my upgraded just now. Soo far so good. Just testing out the apps and features. Gmail app is crashing a bit. Keyboard lag is much better
just woke up to find a download ready. Reasonably quick, guess not many people on at this hour If it fixes keyboard lag and nothing else I will be happy.
All installed and no issues so far.
Wifi good.
Bluetooth good.
No screen flicker issues.
App drawer is smooth scrolling in either orientation.
Keyboard lag seems to have gone.
All up, very pleased.
Wots the build no. Can any one tell me pls
I still looking 4 update.zip if anyone has captured it.
many thanks
Mine is Acer_AV041_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1
Yup, it's downloading for me now as well.
My Build No: Acer_A500_7.014.15_COM_GEN1
Well I've been using my A500 with ICS all day now. Absolutely love it! Feels like a brand new tablet! Factory reset got rid of all the junk I had accumulated, and ICS just feels so much more polished and complete.
No issues at all apart from browser sync (but I'm using chrome beta now anyway so I don't really care)
Totally out of left field: dell released a new rom for softbank.
The changelog does not seem to state much.
Android 2.2.2
Build date: Jul 10, 2012
Build: 29579
Dell Stage 1.6
The rom is completely identical to 366 except for the following files:
<root>\boot.img
<root>\amss.mbn
<root>\dbl.mbn
<root>\dsp1.mbn
<root>\osbl.mbn
<root>\system\build.prop
<root>\system\app\quickoffice.apk
Out of all those, only boot.img seems to have changed more then just being resigned/trivial changes.
Dell normally holds a rom for 1 month to test before releasing, but the normal release date for a rom built in july would be mid/late august.
So for whatever reasons: they held it back for a month.
It also only includes a trivial amount of changes, so it's not much more then going though the motions of a release
I received the update SMS today and came here to check. Figured you would have some additional info on this.
Still Froyo? I guess I'm never getting a phone from Softbank again.
Blame Dell/Qisda's dell team/Softbank
The SPro's still on GB too.
The Lenovo LePad S2005 (ie the "Opus one") got ICS back in April.
I dont even know why they released 369, I cant tell if it even changed anything as far as softbank's changelog is concerned.

Official roms arnt custom roms, they cant simply release it and hope there's no serious issues. They have to have staff on hand to test for 3 weeks before releasing.
Even if they only changed like a dozen lines of code at best for it.

I currently sport the Dell official 360 rom and I was wondering if it was worth the bother of udating to this one? has anyone given it a go and does it work?
Any pointers would be appreciated! Also interested in whether it requires a complete reset or if it upgrades leaving data/apps in place? :fingers-crossed:

Well I took the plunge and generally I am pleased with the results. Wifi seems much more stable and most things work, although mms does not seem to be working at the moment. Also softbank does not come with a sms app pre-installed, instead they use their own combined messaging app which I have not tried yet. I installed an sms app from the market and it works ok, apart from mms

The MMS issue I was having was me being an idiot - I had run out of credit I have never used Wifi Hotspot. There is an app that comes rolled into this rom which seems to be for tethering but i have not used it. The WiFi in general is excellent and seem way more stable that any other ROM I've used to date (and I've used quite a few). I think it may be easier to look up a 3rd party (barnacle I think) tool to get the tethering working - but I know very little about this.

I've been using it for a while and generally all is good. It seems better on battery than the 360 rom, the WiFi seems more stable, though I do get the odd issue with it not connecting but far less than any other rom I've used. I do not use tethering and I know that is not present, but there are apps in the market to do this anyway. SuperUser.zip also happily rooted it with no issues. It does seem to be quicker than other Froyo roms too - so overall I'd say it's worth an upgrade. Be aware that the native messaging app will not work on it for some reason, but Handsent or Go SMS are just fine and dandy - unless you run out of credit (see earlier post by me)
If I had to stick to a single rom this would be the one. I am tempted to go for DSC and I've been told by the author that it can be flashed over this rom - so I may report back when 1.6 is rolled out fully and I've installed it to give a comparison.
I hope this helps!
I've looked and haven't found any links for what I'm looking for which is just the amss and dsp1 files to flash in fastboot... anybody got those uploaded anywhere? I hate to flash the entire ROM just to extract those two, but if I have to then I just have to... thanks guys for any help

I am quite happy so far.

Decided to take the plunge with this stock ROM. Been running for 25hrs now, Flashed with battery at 100% and as i type this battery is at 70%. Usage has been 60mins Bluetooth audio, installing all my 43 apps from play store, dozen texts, 10mins of calls, 10mins of internet and email. I expect in 28hrs time it will be given its first charge since flashing.
No lag, no heat, brill battery time, and fast n smooth.
Also , something to note for other users, I'm not on Vodafone, in fact I'm on three(uk), this ROM chose the correct csc for me, i had expected to input my carrier settings myself, this was not the case.

Not really something new and no surprise. Sky tries to protect Sky Go and so it is completely understandable that they will stop it working on rooted devices.
