Did You try with Task Killer ?
Er... no. Never had this problem. The RAM will clear itself up when necessary.

Recently i switched from FroyoBread to XGin 5.3. On FroyoBread startup i see 90MB free, but on Xgin about 70. And it can go low as 20. Help me!
do you have a problem when your ram is 20?
I guess not. android already have memory management.
but if u want it, clear your ram with taskkiller, then don't open any application. so ur ram always free as much as u want.

like I said, don't open any program. its not a suggestions...
If you wanna get more free ram use task killer manager from market or editing the lowmemorykiller preference on system
sent from my own custom rom
Use Autokiller.
it´s very professional, it has much settings and it can also kill system apps, because it´s a root app.
I use Advanced Task Manager. And when i reach 20MB ram heavy games close and my phone is 'LITTLE' slower. As far i have about all android stuff, i think the only sulution is to switch to another rom.

Hi,
I was wondering how can Android 4.1.1 use around 580MB-600MB of Ram with everything closed ? I even tried to wipe all my data/apps.. Still always at 580MB (around). My iPad 2 has 512 MB Of ram and always have 256MB available. (Means the system use around 256MB too). Is it normal that Android use twice the ram iOS would?
If not can it be fixed? If yes can it be improved?
Thanks

Free ram is wasted ram. Your device is supposed to use all the ram it can.
Your Nexus 7 has double the amount of RAM than your iPad 2. It may as well be used!
Don't worry about free ram space. The android system manages ram really well.
Clears processes if your using ar am intensive app.
Since the memory is not being used it may as well make your nexus7 smoother.
Alright thanks you ! I will stick on these answer

Yeah but I thought the point of having more ram was to have more available for bigger apps

I am considering using swap for my galaxy y. I just want to be able to use 3-4 web poages on dolphin or use facebook messenger without my phone slowing down so that my contacts and phone app takes forever to load unless i reboot.
Is 32 mb enough? or should i go for more? what are the disadvatnages of using too much swap?

If I was you I would reinstall your rom or use a different one - I use dolphin and have 5 pages open without any problems and I dont use swap which could shorten the life of your sd card

I just wanna know if using too much swap can make your phone slower. Like 32 mb vs 256 mb. any disadvantages in choosing 256 mb other than sd card life?

Currently i am using ressurection remix which is pretty good but after closing a app the ram remain still occupied and doesn't become like it was before opening that app. please tell me which rom has best ram optimisaton
and for what you need free ram? If system or app needs more ram it will free it by himself, if you want install greenify and greenify apps, but for sure you don't need a lot of free ram.

sometimes, even you close an app, part of it stay in memory for future use of this app, sometimes *system* ram usage increases throught your using of phone, sometimes other apps increease usage too
Thanks. And please tell me how to judge a ROM weather it has a good ram management or not

I havent seen a rom with a really bad ram management here for our Bacon all the ROMs are based on one of the 2 'sources' we have. I wouldn't worry too much about it just enjoy the great roms
Verstuurd vanaf mijn A0001 met Tapatalk
If there's memory leak in the source, it will be there in all the derived ROMs. But you need not worry about it. Sources are quite stable and memory management must be equally good.
However, it can be a bit different on suppose an AOSP based ROM vs a LineageOS based ROM. This is also very kernel dependent. You should try them out yourself and see! Good luck.
After last update in my redmi note 7 I noticed that ram in my phone is decreased from 2.4 GB to 2.1 GB why is that....
Initially it did on mine exactly like you experienced too. Try restarting couple of times, it helped me get back 2.4GB available RAM.

Lol, why the heck won't you let the system to use the ram though? I usually get 50% free ram and it's enough as a normal device with 4GB ram. Why so serious with RAM dude? Your system is gona use the RAM anyway.
