I am not sure how this happened, Ive also tried to find and make a hack myself. But this is beyond my abilities.
Mt problem is with the Tvout on my TP2 (Rhodium).
I've tried:
1) Disabling the HKLM> Software> HTC> H2W> TVoutCablein "0" .
But every time I restart my phone it goes back to "1".
2)b I've Task29 twice and tried 3 different ROMs. There results are mostly the same. Bit that value always returns to "1".
3) I also tried to disabling Tvout "0" and TVoutPopUp "0", both in the HTC reg folder. I've tried many different combos also. Still no love from my phone.
4)I also tried enabling the Software> OEM> Tvoutsettings. Changed Hiddenconnectset value to "1"
What's happening is this; When I boot my phone I can hear the boot wav file. Then a few seconds later the TV out pop-up asks for the type. What I have been doing is hitting the Win menu hard button and killing the tvoutpopup with task manager. I would think everything would return to normal. But it does not. I get no sound from my speaker. No rings, music, nothing. I can talk to people but I cant hear through the ear piece either. However, if I connect the a set of headphone to the 3.5 jack I can hear and talk. But the sound quality suck like a brand new Hoover vacuum.
I believe my problem is in one or both of the following places.
1) It might be the OEM_Misc.dll file that has some Tvout stuff going to it. I am not sure what else is contained in the file.
2) It might also be in the HTCTVout.exe
It seems to me like after the boot, the phone scans the mini usb and it thinks there is a TV out cable connected. I have check the port for trash or anything that might make a connection, but its clean. But I should still be able to force a new value in the reg and make it stick. But it returns every time. I cant delete the reg. folder it seems protected. Nor can I delete the .exe file or .dll file. They also seem to be protected.
Any help?
Thanks
Nick

Hi there! I noticed that the calldrop sound that I hear at the end of a telephone call when somebody on the other side is hanging up It isn't the one supposed to be ( that you can find in the windows directory called calldrop.wav ) but the sound of Busy tone... Is somebody able to give me a hand trying to set things up? I mean, I don't like that sound and I would like the original one to be played properly; moreover I don't know why , when or what did the mess...everything else seems to be working fine...( seems!!!)
Ill start first by saying to read the Wiki on how to tweak the Hermes registry....
Once you do that download a registry editor and go to the following key:
\registry\HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds\CallDrop
Click on the Sound file and the default is supposed to be:
\Windows\calldrop.mid
You can change it to any sound that is in your device.
Thanks for your quick reply...I followed your directions and I came up discovering that in the registry the string is correctly pointing to the correct file...but it still doesn't sound...or better another one is playing instead...

Did you recently buy a car charger? Son as I started using one, the tone changed on mine as well. Its like a degraded sound, not the one supposed to be heard, and is annoying as hell!!!
I do have a car charger but I don't think that the sound changed due to its use... It' a completely different mid file ( the one for busy call ) or at least it seems so to me and I'm getting sick of it as well!!!!
I posted about this same problem a few days ago, and someone asked me if I had just bought a car charger. It was better than a coincidence since the annoying sound started soon after I used it for the first time. I'm too lazy to reflash right now since aside from the tone being different now, my phone runs too damn good to change.
Ok, got the message as so does mine!!! So I won't reflash it at the moment and I'll keep it like it is...
Hey...
Having problem with no sound during call on my XDA2i. I have full system sounds, WMP is working, tones are working and key tones are fine. but when the phone rings and I answer there is no audio and the 2nd party can't hear either. Also the speakerphone doesn't activate, but sound works FINE through wired headset and Bluetooth. I've tried the audio jack, with raking it with the 2.5 mm jack to no avail
I want to try to upgrade my ROM as I have found this worked for someone who suffered from NO sound at all on their device. I downloaded Deathnoise 1.11.171 ROM but want to know HOW to perform the operation.
1) do I need a PC application to 'flash' or install this rom?>
2) can i use USB or do I need serial cable>?
If anyone could just give me a quick list of what I need to do this i'd greatly appreciate it, i just have zero experience with ROM flashing and upgrading.
THank you in advance..

hi bane, i recently flashed my friend's xda2i. this is what i did.
1.) put the xda2i device in its cradle to sychronize in windows desktop pc
2.) run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, follow the window prompts
3.) you will notice that your xda2i will switch to bootloader mode and the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe will stop and give you error message.
4.) re-run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again, this time your device flashing will be successful.
please note that do not attempt to flash your device using windows vista.
I see, thank you for the info. so when the device is flashed, im guessing its a hollow shell ready to install the new rom...how does that work? i've unzipped the deathfire rom pack, but see no cab file. does the rom install from an exe on the pc?
thanks again

Hey, just incase anyone is reading this thread....The rom upgrade worked fine... but it didn't resolve any problems regarding the no sound in call.
HOWEVER, to support the only real info i've found in the forum about this problem, the sound problem rectified itself.... however, it's only been one day. i am not sure how long it shall last, as the last time I took the XDA apart and put my friends 'phone' circuit board in which suffered the same problem weeks prior and it WORKED, but only for two days.
I'll keep you posted ...
hi, I've been having the same problem, but only when it is on charge. put the phone on charge, try to use it and nothing through the phone, only wired and bluetooth headsets work. disconnect from power, same problem on first try, then after that all ok.
Just wondering if it is an issue with the power or power block.
Just found out it's likely to be the connections on the plug. See this thread I found on the subject, http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-245857.html, and this one for the connections. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ame=Connectors.
I cut both loop wires that go from pin 2, to pins 5 & 18 (on mine, the only two that looped back) and everything worked fine after that.
there is no sound coming out from my phone, unless i plug in my handsfree.
can anyone help?
tried http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service...47626+1210087650634+28353475&threadId=1069124 but it doesnt work.
please help.
Hi
The problem is tha there is a mechanical switch that disables your pda's speaker when you plug in the handsfree
This switch gets stuck! A light bump to the pda might correct this, but might also do other damage! OWN RISK!!!
Plugging an removing the handsfree might also let it come unstuck . . .
yup tried that b4. plug in my handsfree and quicky give it a quick tug. still the same though.
try slowly?
i found a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2122475

use a trial of : RESCO EXPLORER
files name changed. problem still persist. still no sound.
Go to electronic shop and ask for spray of "contact renew "
Take the battery out
See if the spray attacks the plastic or paint at a hidden corner on the device then if ok
Spry just a bit in the hole of the plug
If you can only have drops of it into the hole then play with the headset plug
Let it stay for 5-6 min then insert battery and have a look into it
If it did not help repet the process of spry &play but do not have lots of liquid in one time it may cause a short circuit
good luck
ps - you can consult with the store (can not remember the name but in the us i think like "radio shek" or something)
undo the file games by hr your device
For the next time (god forbidden) to be on the safe side that it is the switch just go to your headset settings on start/settings/sys
If you can enter the settings and do not have a note that your headset mast be plugged in first -then it is that switch
If you get that note you must search for a 3part app like profile or speaker failure
okie icic...i have a can of CO2 it can clean contact...works like zippo fluid but evporate faster. will try it tonight. never occured to me to try tt. i tot its my speaker problem. Thanks EREZYAD's
Hi guys, first of all i wan't to thank the whole community for this awesome site, it has really helped me alot with my Xperia X1!.
(Xperia X1i R3AA Swedish orignal ROM)
I was configuring some stuff yesterday in the programs "SKtools" and "Advanced config", nothing serious, just removed pocket controller from autostart, uninstalled a program and changed the name & function of the Softkey #1 + a couple of different tweaks that has nothing to do with this.
That was the last thing i did, and a while later when i was using the phone i noticed that i had no signal, so i touched the signal-symbol and the pop-up said "no service" (pic #1).
Now when i start up my device it skips the PIN code screen and doesn't connect to any phone service anymore...
When i click the phone button, nothing happens, when i click on contacts or the sim-manager the pin-screen pops up and enter the code, but it still wont connect after that.. i can't recieve calls or make any, but when someone phones me the LEDs still light up as if it's calling, so it still recieves the signal... and if i manually check for carriers i find my carrier in the list (pic #2&3).
I'm really lost of what could of gone wrong.. have any of you ever experienced anything like this? Could i had happened to accidently touch something in those programs that could have caused this?
I also want to add that i did check some stuff out in the \windows folder where i tried a couple of .exe's (which i now realise i shouldn't have done...) one of them being wrlsmgr.exe which looks like an old version of the CommManager.exe where i happened to turn of the phone communication, but i started it up from there again too...
I tried a friends SIM in my phone and still the same problem, while my SIM works in his phone, so it is the phone the problem lies within.
I've searched like mad for this problem & I'd really appreciate any tip/suggestion for a fix, worst case i'll have to back up all important stuff and start over with a re-flash.
Please ask if something is unclear..(could add more screendumps, describe something i left out etc) i find the problem quite hard to describe... and i don't really remember all the stuff i did just before this happened.
i would first backtrack everything you did leading up the the stopping of the phone and undo it and if that doesnt work then Hard reset is the best bet for fixing it.
Yeah, i tried backtracking everything, but to no avail..
(Can also add that i altered some stuff in the "Tune Up!" option in SKTools at the same time, but nothing that should affect anything serious)

well if i were you i'd go into the phone settings and make sure everything there is set properly and if that doesnt help i'd hard reset - bit annoying i know but its the best bet (dont forget to back up all your stuff!)
Yeah, i've trippled checked everything, and all looks ok...
I'll probably have to hard reset (same as flashing the R3AA ROM over again, right?) it's just that i've had the phone for 2 weeks and yesterday when i finally had gotten EVERYTHING as i wanted it to ( the RAMdisk & final configuration of pocket plus being the last 2 big things i did), it messed up on me, when i were going to stop fiddling with specials... -.-
Thanks anyway, if i can't find a solution by tomorrow i'll re-flash it.

yea - i wouldnt go fiddiling around with stuff in the windows folder or anything either
yeah i'll make sure not to do that next time, i was just curious to find out if there was an .exe or something that would turn the Wi-Fi off/on when you start it (to make the softkey #1 activate it), but i guess that's embeded in some .dll or something, didn't think some exe in the \Windows folder could mess stuff up like this >_>...
I've had my Jade for about a year, and yesterday managed to encounter quite an unfortunate glitch where the phone has started thinking my headset is plugged in when it's not
This of course, makes talking on the phone without a headset impossible, unless I want to use speaker mode
I tried performing a hard reset on my phone, which did nothing
After that, I was able to temporarily fix the issue by setting the 'headset' value in my registry to 0, but now the phone keeps automatically resetting it to 1
If anyone has suggestions on how to fix this, they would be much appreciated
Thanks

Unfortunately this seems to be a hardware problem that a lot of people have encountered with the Jade. My phone did exactly the same just two weeks ago and it was frustrating as hell. I googled the problem and there were lots of different solutions that worked for people, but none seemed to work for me. In the end the problem solved itself, though I still have no idea how.
Anyway the problem apparently comes from a hardware switch in the mini-USB port of the phone. Something tells the software that the headset is still plugged in, therefore the phone alters the registry each time to represent that.
Solutions:
Solutions found on Google incude:
Plugging in the headset several times and wiggling it around, then removing it in the hope that this resets the hardware switch. Likewise, try this with the USB charger.
Hard reset the phone (search forum for instructions) or use the reset pin on the back of the phone under the SD slot (use the stylus to press the red button in) ** BE WARNED YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA **
I actually reflashed mine with my favourite cooked ROM, but this still left me with the problem. As I said my phone sorted itself out, but I would recommend taking a cocktail or small pin and VERY CAREFULLY remove all lint / pocket fluff that has got caught up there.
Hope this helps and sorry I can't offer a hard and fast solution.
