Easiest Root possible - G Tablet Android Development

Found this and tried it compared to the other option on here.
This is the simplest. Simply sideload the app, click root and your done!
Worked wonders for me!

z4Root apk works like a champ.

This just reboots my gtab. i am a newbie. any ideas what may be wrong?

Yeah, i wish there was a nice walkthrough for n00bs who want to root their GTab. Something with links, and everything you'll need and what each thing does.
Sheesh, i'll paypal someone $15.00 if they do.

Easier root = install custom ROM with root.

You shouldn't have deviated from stock in the first place. I would even go as far to say you shouldn't have even rooted your phone. You're going to get flamed....... You should have searched, and that tutorial is pretty basic. Figure the **** out

Click the link in my signature.
Instead of the zip files in my thread, download the zip file from the shipping ROM thread (" You may get the Original Shipping Image from HERE or thru Modaco HERE. [22607 build] ").
before going back to stock i recommend trying cm.5.0.6 rom, its 10x better then stock.
This may not be to your liking, but why not go with Cyanogen? Its UI is optimized for the Nexus One. Combined with HelixLauncher it's even more kick a$$.
Maybe i should try cyanogen
I heard that its really good :] And it is full version? not alpha like desire ROM, right? :]

they're not buggy but compared to cyan the battery life just sucks. I don't think many people use those ROMS as their primary OS.

Is the webtop hack already in the Gingerblur 3.1 rom?

I would normally do the research on here myself, but it won't let me search the Gingerblur thread because i don't have 10 posts yet, so i figured i get one more post out of the way.
I am already rooted and i am on 1.8.3. I also have the Webtop hack. I want to install my first rom, gingerblur, but i want to make sure that i will have the webtop hack as well. Thanks.
nope it doesn't by default but you can still install it. that or wait till 3.5 is out and it will include it again.

Need Help Rooting, Really Confused!

Guys I have Nexus S i9020T runnig Android version 2.3.4, Baseband version I9020XXKD1, Build number GRJ22. I have looked around a lot and am confused on how to root my phone, is there any simple way of rooting my phone with super user? I run a very old PC so installing the sdk is pretty hard, so could anyone give me a step by step simple tutorial? This is my first Android phone and am a complete noob at this
Did you read the sticky yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007782
It's a step-by-step tutorial and exactly how you should do it.
The SDK shouldn't really be a strain for your PC.
Good luck,
Greetz
You don't need the entire SDK. Grab PDAnet USB divers and then choose to download just the 2.3.3 SDK and Google USB drivers from the SDK. Worked fine for me this way. You don't need all the stuff the SDK wants to install by default.

Yes that guide works regardless of what Android version you're using because Android version is not a factor. It's the bootloader.
No, it is impossible to root without the SDK because you have to unlock the bootloader using the SDK. You won't get stuck at the Google screen. People are messing up because they're unable to follow instructions.

I've helped people in this topic many times.
The easiest way I can say is to first download the Android SDK listed in that step-by-step thread. It's not that difficult and you shouldn't be scared to do it. Unless you're flashing something for another model of the phone (such as NS4G) everything should be fixable.
Download http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html to your respective OS. If its for windows, I know it says recommended for exe but I prefer using the .zip version of it. So download that first if you haven't already.

Don't know why you're downloading the JDK but okay. Extract it and rename the folder android-sdk-windows-r12 to /sdk/ and place it on the root of your C drive. So it'd be located in C:\sdk\
You need to put your phone into bootloader mode (while phone is off; VOL UP + Power) while plugged in. Do what the instructions say and set up the drivers.
The step-by-step guide is self-explanatory. I don't really want to paraphrase what the guide says because it's pretty simple. Follow the guide you linked earlier and tell me if you experience any problems or have problems understanding what is being asked.

Any chance you wouldn't mind doing a titanium backup of motocast and sharing the 3 files?
I can't wait for this. Has anyone tried to unblock the ports that's required to be open to make the tablet work with programs like airplay, wifi explore and file expert to make possible wifi files transfer from my tablet to my linux os? Are there any programs to do that? Probably Droidwall do this , can anyone with rooted device try it ?

[Question] Is there Root for SM-G530P?

Just went over to sprint the other day and got this version that ha 5.1.1 installed out of the box. Been searching around and have yet to find anything that even list this version/build but see many others listed.
Is there a root/Pre-root rom that will work on this variant?
I second this! I have been searching for any info on rooting this specific device without luck! I don't mind doing research on how to do it and finding out how my self, just can't find anything at all to do so thus far!
Root for SM-G530P
I third this someone please help...
Before you get into flashing anything on the device....please be sure to enable OEM Unlocking under developers option.
Also, there seems to be a twrp recovery, however, I have not tested it out myself yet...when I do so I will let you all know if it's success or not.
Another thing, I think it's highly possible that the phone will require a "permissive" kernel...not too sure yet. I will advise shortly...
Ok I got news. The phone has been semi-rooted, I was right...it requires a permissive kernel in order for the phone to boot up once more. The people that come in mind when it comes to permissive sprint kernels are Freeza & Djvoleur. They can probably cook something up if they have the source code for this phone already.... also, we need a working twrp or philz recovery.... the ones provided do not work... meaning that it would be redundant to have a permissive kernel...if we don't have a working custom recovery to flash it over with.... unless there's another way to flash the zip file or maybe just the boot.img? I will keep updating this if I find anything further...
