I would normally do the research on here myself, but it won't let me search the Gingerblur thread because i don't have 10 posts yet, so i figured i get one more post out of the way.
I am already rooted and i am on 1.8.3. I also have the Webtop hack. I want to install my first rom, gingerblur, but i want to make sure that i will have the webtop hack as well. Thanks.
nope it doesn't by default but you can still install it. that or wait till 3.5 is out and it will include it again.

yeah just install gingblur3.1 and see if it still working if not just reinstall. Kenn said he was adding it into 3.5 in the upcoming day but he was gonna take a break for school. but he is usually awesome about delivering.

Yeah, it didn't work after installing gingerblur, but after installing the webtop zip found on the thread page, it worked like a wonder.
now go to about phone and see if your still on 1.8.3 and 2.2.2. More then likely it reverted you back to 1.5.7 it has done it to me 3 times now so instead of doing that method im going to push the 2 apk files

I was reading a thread on how to install mobile ap. Not the thread in reference to installing it, but a way to put a custom kernel and other things. It had a step by step list on how to do this. It would install noobnl kernel or something of that nature.
I should have saved it to favorites but forgot.
Thanks.

I tried to follow yours and tried to install emotionless beast and got force closes all over the place and could not do anything. I reverted my phone back to stock so I assume I did not need to do step two. Is there something else that I may have done wrong?
Thanks.

I reverted back using odin. I tried step 2, but the file is a bad file. I tried to install from clockwork and it said bad install. Should I revert back to stock and try to start from step 1? I am using launcherpro. I believe I am stock rom since I reverted back to 2.1
Thanks.

Try downloading the noobnls stock 2.1 zip again, it probaly didnt download all the way, it tends to do that, it should be like 150mb..
oh and yes start over and nandroid backup again if you want if you didnt already, then flash the stock zip make sure its 150mb, and flash that,
step 2 file is the way i got it to work. just keep trying and let me know, thats all i did to figure this out just keep trying it should work, i mean ive done it successfully 3 times already.

Maybe I got the wrong one. When I go to the thread from your thread I can not get the file to download.
Here is the name of the file I downloaded.
stock.epic.DI18.rom.update.zip
I did get mobile ap to work, but does not seem to be any better than wireless and wired tether.
with mobile ap can you use 4G?

thats the file you need and what do u mean you cant download? are u on internet explorer is so: inorder to download the file: u need to right click the link and open in new tab then it will download.
so did u get it to work then with the theme? Also yes 4g works superb on mobile ap plus in comparison to speeds mobile ap is so much faster then wireless tether, and looks nicer plus it supports more devices because its infrastructure.

I will try to right click and save as to see if it works. I tried to do a speed test with mobile ap and I did not even get 1 meg download speed. I did not try a theme yet as I do not want it to mess up again.

Not to sound rude but since the point of mobileap is tethering, wouldn't it make more sense to run the speed test on the device being tethered as opposed to the device providing the tether?
Question for ya:
ARe u deleting any touchwiz files such as widgets the launcher? If so thats maybe why its not working for you. I really want to help you get it working cause i know its possible and not luck if i can make it work on my epic my dads and brothers all it takes is some experimenting in flashing stuff and some how it sticks? I will do my best to test wish more people would help me test to see how to get it to work, cause my instructions are what ive done on all my epics and it works..

I would be happy to help test mobileAP for 2.2
I'm currently on Liberty v0.1 (.588) and would like to get to .596
Can I just flash p3droid's zip over my system in order to get it? I have .12P radio and all the other requirements, but I'm wondering if being on Liberty changes that.
Also, would I need to wipe?
Edit: Actually, would it be possible to flash CM7 over my current system?
Thanks in advance

No, You will need to SBF back to Froyo 2.3.340. From there you can install CM7.
CM4DX Post with install instructions:

Thank you so much! I just wanted to confirm that I was reading that correctly. Also, I'm aware of how to SBF, I would just rather not have to go through it.
So just format system (and all of the others), mount, then install? No wipe?
Edit: Just read the second link Lofi Goosh posted. That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

there is no reason to wipe cuz doing the formats take care of that.

I tried it after I posted. It is using the old amend scripting so it won't flash with the new recovery. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will upload the stock keyboard eventually. I would if I knew how.
I asked the dev of the starwars rom and he gave me some instructions.
Thanks to Dan Rosenberg, he will be posting a 1 click method to Root your Xyboards! And major themer Bignadad will have a Xyboard theme coming soon.
http://www.mydroidworld.com/topic/10487-root-droid-xyboard-root-1-click-method-coming-soon/
ETA: Says will work with VZW Xy's and w/ or w/out OTA's!!!!
Report back when you've tried it with success. That will be GREAT news.
Yea, he has tested on my Xoom 2 10.1 (After OTA) works great. He told me that the method will be possibly be up Friday or Saturday on the blog so keep checking his website.
Worked on mine to. My VZW Xyboard 10.1 was the "before OTA update" it was tested on.

Thats definitely it, thank you for sharing!
Now I need to figure out how to get it to work. A simple apk install was a no-go and dropping it in /system/app didn't work either.
Gives me something to do today I guess
Any chance you wouldn't mind doing a titanium backup of motocast and sharing the 3 files?
I can't wait for this. Has anyone tried to unblock the ports that's required to be open to make the tablet work with programs like airplay, wifi explore and file expert to make possible wifi files transfer from my tablet to my linux os? Are there any programs to do that? Probably Droidwall do this , can anyone with rooted device try it ?

Well why don't you pull the apk, back up your phone and try? Move it to where ever its located on the rom zip (probably /data/apps or /system/apps). Not saying that will work but would be step 1 on attempting it.
