I've just installed this custom rom on my tmobile and i was wondering what version of Android runs best on it.
I've installed HD2Froyo_V3 on it and it runs pretty well. (Except for once in a blue moon having to reboot because the 3G gets disabled)
Please let me know of any that run very well on your setups as well
Phone: T-MOUS HTC HD2
Rom: Elegancia MaxSense WITH HTC Messaging
Desire ROM, Android 2.2
Radio: Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14
SPL: 2.08.HSPL

Give some of them a shot and see which one works best for you.
Everyone in this section will work
I just tried the first android rom here on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820696
and i would get stuck at the Black with Green Lettering HTC screen, after about 4min of waiting i just decided its not worth the wait..
It seems there are certain roms that work with this WMO rom

After 4 minutes? On a fresh install you should wait 10-15 minutes as to builds the data.img file. That concept is written ALL OVER this forum.
And that is one of the better Builds out right now if you use TMOUS.

i see..10-15min
sorry for being such a noob, i had no idea it took so long
i will leave my img file building and post my results
thank you for the info
unfortunately...after about 45min of waiting..it stayed stuck on that HTC screen
i even reformatted sd card and tried once again :0(
Make sure the build is in a folder called Android on the ROOT of your SD card.
In the Android folder it should contain the Haret, zImage, and CLRCAD files as well as a Data folder and the other misc files for startup and images. Make sure you click CLRCAD first and then Haret. Do this as close to booting into WM as possible.

hi There!
this thread is about to install or run Android on non T-Mobile 512 mb ROM based HTC HD2.

please help

Did you really try to install android on your internal memory?
If yes, please search for the next corner and shame on you..
your internal memory (the 512 mb) is called NAND. This won't be touched by Android (well...just take this for granted).
You'll install android on your SD card.
Good luck!
Hey hey i was not saying that to install on ROM, i was asking that how can i run android (froyo) on my HD2 which have 512mb ROM.
means i dont have t-mobile version.
Otherwise i know i should keep the files in micro SD card and then run it.
When i try to run on my HD2 screen fades out and nothings come back. i need to pull my battery out to restart my phone.

it depends on each persons liking.. but since you're just starting to port to android.. i would recommend these combo, as i think both these works right out of the box as they say.. very fast build.. after you try these combination, you can explore with other builds.. but this would be a great start.. try it
VBNRom (Winmo ROM) i know you said you already have chucky ROM, but this one is light and gives me good compatibility..
NexusHD2 (Android) everything works.. BT, camera, internet (only RMNET) and very fast build..
I use chucky myself, and Darkstone's Desire Froyo. Everything works, and I havent noticed any slowdowns so far.
Its a genuine lovestory, really
Sent from my HTC HD2 (Running Android) using XDA App
all windows phone 7 htc phones have 512 mb rom , and i think wp7 consumes more space than android as it has allot of animations and eye candy items
Okay I have been trying and trying to download android onto my Hd2(T9391) but the only thing i get is "jumping to kernel" then a black screen with htc written in green. I have read so many different things about this but i still dont understand what im doing wrong. I am losing my mind not being able to have android on my hd2 so if anyone could help I would deeply appreciate it
And here is some other info just in case...
Manila: 2.5.20191914.0
ROM: Duttys HD2 ML Family ROM (V5) WWE
Radio: 2.12.50.02_2

What build are you trying? Is there a winmo recommended Rom that te builder suggest
To use?
Also you need to do a full fat32 format for your SD card, and it takes a good 10 - 15 min
For a new build to install. Make sure all files are in the Android folder.
Try loading it as fast as you can after booting winmo

My sd card says its in fat32 format so do i need to do it again?
Yes, format it with a full format just so we can eliminate that from the other problems it may be.
some problem with my hd2, any idea?
How long are you leaving it? it takes a good 15 min (depending on the speed of your card) for android to write a data.img file. Sometimes this will be provided for you but most times its better to let android set it up itself.
Leave it for 15 - 30 minutes. It should start up, also check your radio, its should be the .50 series, not .51.
Hi All,
Before anyone goes off on one... I am a complete noob, I was advised to come on here and get an Android version to run on my HD2.
The previous owner had put cookies version of the OS on the device, it's great but I would really like to see Android running on this machine.
The problem I'm having is that I haven't really got a clue what I'm doing.
I've downloaded /showthread.php?t=780525 and formatted the sd card (16gig) added the android folder as instructed, tapped the CLRCAD and then tap the HaRET where it loads a black screen with 9 of lines of code and then just hangs there, I've left it for a few hours and nothing, no changes just those couple of lines of code, battery is fully charged.
code looks like this:
HaRET boot
shutting down hardware
turning off MNU...
In preloader
etc etc
9 lines of code... that's it.
I've also tried putting the data.img file in the android folder and outside the folder and not present at all.
The unit is a UK T-mobile.
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks in advance.

I've got:
Radio: 2.04.50.22_2
ROM: ROM: 1.43.110.10 (82355) WWE
How do I update that? Do I need to do the ROm as well?
Cheers.
Radio's here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
.. typically, later the better (like, mine is 2.15.xx). But often, it's just finding the one that works best for you, which can be a case of trial and error sometimes.
I'd also recommend getting rid of stock ROM flashing a WinMo ROM fit for purpose with it's own inbuilt Android booter - try this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774417
Flashing a radio is the exact same as flashing a rom (presume you know how to do this).
Good luck pal
Hi,
I think I've cracked it with the excellent help from the board members... nice one.
Process I used was:
1. Install HSPL3_pkg.zip
2. update the Radio and ROM as per the above post
3. Transfer the MDJ files to SD card
4. Install as per the MDJ instructions... took about ten minutes and bingo
HD2 running Android and looking very sweet indeed... at last an HD2 that I can honestly say I am pleased to own.
Great work to everyone involved.
Cheers.
Just download and install the official HD2 ROM 3.14, then u don't need to crack HSPL and flash another radio and u can just put a android folder in the root of ur SD card, click CLARD and then hRET.exe and it will work fine
Glad you sorted it. Enjoy.

if you want to go directly to desire HD builds then that is your prerogative, but don't whine if ever it lags.
You have HSPL with stock rom? May I know the link of the particular winmo rom you used?

The following WM6.5 and Droid Builds work really well for me, just make sure you re-format the sd card on the WM rom and also change the screen time-out to 'never' before booting from the droid folder. The ROM and Build links are below:
WINMO ROM:
http://htcpedia.com/kwbr_HD2_com3/so...om.html?page=1
DROID BUILD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924
Hope you find it as good as I have, just make sure to HSPL before-hand, this is the Nexus One droid build and i've only had one small problem with hearing people on calls, but that fixed itself after a couple of uses. The build is very stable and reliable and also battery life is good (No outstanding BUILD is the best for battery as it really depends on the RADIO you use) .

Even though your going to be using droid all the time anytime you switch off the device, without a bootload option between WM and DROID you will always need a WM ROM to use as a platform to boot droid.
The ROM i use is a very low-key ROM and dosnt take up that much memory.
Plus the RADIO is what ultimately makes the good data connections and battery power etc so you will need both.
The way I have my build the droid battery drain issue is minimum (in my experience) to other builds, its stable, fast and it works well. Just make sure to install LauncherPro once you boot er up.
Just remember though if you restart your phone for any reason it will go back to the WM ROM on boot-up unless you have a BOOTLOADER installed so you can choose between either.
Hope this helps

I've gotten practically every SD android build to work perfectly for me while dualbooting wp7. You do realize you have to edit the init.rc file in most builds to make it compatible with magldr, right? There's a thread on it in the SD android section. If there's any specific build you want that you can't get working, pm me and I'll see if I have it work. I've gotten 12 out of 13 builds I've tried to work great.

I tried it with SuperRam and after welcome wizard, it shows black screen. I reset multiple times and it never loads again, just shows black screen after HTC logo. I'd prefer to use ram rom to save wear and tear on the sd card, so is there a step I am missing?
There's a newinitrd.gz that I deleted when I put the edited initrd.gz file in Android folder. Should I keep that in there? I have HSPL 2.08 and 2.14 radio.
