I have Bluetooth stereo headset not branded one. when i try to pair with other phones it prompts for passcode and able to key in "0000". Whereas when i try with my HD2, it doesnt prompt to key in passcode instead the phone generates passcode automatically.
Is there any tweak to make the phone to prompt to key in passcode manually. I tried to edit the registry and hardcode the passcode of headset to auto pair. It doesnt works.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\BTConfig\AutoP air\IncludedExactNames\
Anyone can help?.....
the phone will pair with it successfully if your device supports easy pair (most motorola's do for example) I have an anchient motorola hs850 that the HD2 pairs with no issues at all and it never asks me for a passcode unless I am pairing to my laptop or desktop.
It doesnt prompt for passcode anymore.. It generate passcode automatically to verify with headset...

How do I change the password for my Bletooth Headset, there is nothing in the Headset manual about this. Is their an app for the imate that once you have bonded the imate and the headset you can change the headset password??
The passcode of the headset is hardcoded into its firmware; you cannot change it.
By default, it should be 0000
I've run across 1234 as a passcode as well.
db
yeah it is 0000, I just wanted to know if it was possible to change it so my headset can only ever be used by me!
bt passcode
some of the ericsson models allow passcode change.
Now that i have this beautiful headset, there is only one problem:
everytime i want to listen to music i have to erase the bluetooth profile, put the headset in pairing mode and enter 0000...
it takes time!
(well...just some seconds...but it's boring!!!)
is there a way to do an auto-pairing?
I have that one too - very happy with it so far, impressive battery life!
As for your issue, the pairing procedure has to be done once and the headset should be recognized automatically every time you turn it on, provided BT is on of course. Perhaps you're holding the headset button too long forcing it in pairing mode?
The problem I have is different.
I can pair them easily. Just on bluetooth on both sides and they work. Using Core Player and Windows Media Player was flawless.
But still I can't seem to be able to make/receive calls on my headphones.
I have both profiles selected in the bluetooth settings.
I tried disabling the stereo profile, and it still doesn't work with making/receiving calls.

I think I found the solution to my own problem.
I found out that during the pairing process with the TyTNII, I musn't enter the passcode the first time. Only when it asks for the second time for passcode, I have to enter 0000. I think the first one was to set a password so that the device you are pairing will have to enter the password set on the TyTNII so that the device can see the TYTYII. However in this case, the headset is not able to enter any password.
It now works flawlessly stereo profile and headset profile simultaneously.
Hi, i just bought a universal bluetooth headset but i cannot set up my phone to work with it. I turned my bluetooth function on and set my phone visible but i still cannot find the bluetooth headset. Does anyone know why?
You don't want the bluetooth headset to see the phone... you want the phone to see the headset... Setting the phone to visible is for other phones/computers to be able to see it...
By default, all you should need to do is...
1. Have your bluetooth set to "on" on your phone
2. Turn on the BT headset
3. Add new device
4. See headset and tap on it and then next
5. Pair it with 0000 or 1234
6. It should set it to heaset automatically
Sometimes just having the bluetooth headset on is not enough, you have to put it in discovery mode. (The headset manual should say how to do this)
hi i have a problem when i connect with my bluetooth headset my spica shows this message "to pair with "z-w88", confirm that it is showing the passkey: 921062" which is weird because my B.Headset does not have a screen and that pass key is always random every time i try to connect it wont let me enter the 0000 required
pass key.
the "z-w88" bluetooth headset works well with my nokia E51 and my P1i
does anyone know what to do?
thanks so much!
BTW
my spica is running on android 2.1 eclair.
I have had the problem with Jabra bluetooth headset.
Whta I did I just clicked OK on screen and it is working properly.
Maybe you should try this.
(If I want o pair another device, the password is always randomly, but th pairing is succesfull in every case)
In the standard settings and main Apps there's no way to pair with other devices than phones or Bluetooth audio devices.
Problem is that a Bluetooth device like an OBD dongle needs to be paired through PIN code. There's no way to do that in the standard settings in some of these devices.
The solution comes from an app called: Bluetooth Force Pin Pair (connect) available from the play store.
Download the app and open it.
Enter the PIN code for the Bluetooth device (usually 1234 or 0000 see the device manual)
Search for the wanted device, in our case the OBD dongle. Then pair and your done!
The device is successfully paired. Then you of course go to your App (in our case Realdash or Torque pro) and go to connections and select Bluetooth and search/select the wanted Bluetooth device.
Done.
i have done this, but whenever i go to torque or obdlink, it tries to connect again with the original BT app..
