Lookout mobile security cause of not booting

As a new owner of the HTC HD2 i am very satified with this device, it's furfilling my tweaker needs .
had some SOD problems with the 1.48 stock rom, so i updated to 1.72 (vodafone dutch) rom and didn't had the SOD problems anymore.
But what i encountered was that the device many times wouldn't boot anymore (it freezes at the orange windows mobile screen), had to soft reset it, sometimes even 6,7 times in a row before it was able to boot through.
You can understand that this is very frustrating.
Have gone through every program and uninstalled everything till i found the cause, and that was Lookout mobile security?
After i uninstalled Lookout, i didn't have the booting problem anymore.
Are there more people out there with the same problem? because i do need some antivirus protection on my mobile but not in change of instability
Lookout
@d33f - we have successfully tested the app thoroughly on many WinMo phones. What is your CE OS version and build number?
If you'd like we can continue the conversation as a Lookout support ticket - please email support /at/ mylookout /dot/ com and we’ll work to figure this out.
I'm using Omnia II GT-i8000. And when I enabled the Firewall feature. my phone can't get through internet... Says connected but can't browse. But if I disable the firewall feature, I can browse... Strange...
And with Antivirus enabled, my Omnia II got intermittent freeze... Disabled the antivirus feature and my Omnia II is OK...
No installed apps since I hard reseted my Omnia II then install Lookout...
And my ROM version is: EBoot I8000NXXJD3 - Phone I8000NXXJD1 - PDA I8000NXXJC1 - CSC I8000ITVJC1
Thanks...

[Q] OS upgrade (beginner)

Hi
Have a Touch2 T3333 which has ROM version 1.28.401.4 (66092)
I bought it as I wanted a Windows phone originally for complete Exchange sync.
However I'm on the verge of just giving up with it and buying another handset, as it's just so riddled with bugs and problematic.
I thought I'd give it one last go and see if there were any updates for the OS to make it usable.
The HTC website does have an update for it which looks significantly newer, however when I try to download that and put in the S/N of the handset I get told that it isn't suitable. There is no way on there for me to part-patch up to an intermediate version then to that version.
I'm not looking for "tweaks" as such, I just want what's there to work (the weather bits, the active sync, Opera not to crash all the time, not to have to launch IE twice every time, the phone to switch properly between WiFi and 3G, YouTube to detect the network connection properly, Audible Player to sync properly, not to have to take the battery off the back and put it back on about once a week every time it locks up.. the list just goes on..)
I'm not sure if these are general issues with Windows mobile itself which has a kind of beta not-quite-finished feel to it and no version really works properly, or if the update would solve these problems.
As I'm so frustrated with the thing I don't mind all that much if I end up killing it completely and then have to throw it in the bin and go out and get an Android based replacement.
I've read about ROM updates on here and I can see in the Mega - ROM - Hotfix thread there's a ROM "WWE Europe - 1.28.401.4" which I'm guessing is the one to try. But then it appears to simply be the version I already have.
Based on how old the ROM it has appears to be (16/09/2009) how can I get the HTC updated ROM 1.33.110.2 to install (the HTC site badges it "T-Mobile" and I have O2), and would anyone else who has be able to comment on whether it's just that my experience with Windows mobile is so poor and I should persist, or whether I should call it a day and move on? (I can see plenty of people have tried getting hold of Android on this handset....could the new Windows 7 work on it in time...?)
Moved to general as not rom development

[Q] General question on HD2 android development

This may be a noob question but I'm in the market to buy a phone for t-mobile, currently looking at buying a used HD2 off CL.... Correct me if i'm wrong but android does not run 100% natively on the hd2 since it needs windows mobile 6.5 to run off of using Haret (does android run off the SD card?? I'm looking to use android as the main OS on the phone. I ready many problems but still not sure if its practical for daily use. I also saw the dual booting of android on the HD2 with windows mobile but it seems to still use Haret. Is it at all possible to remove windows mobile completely and flash it with android?
Let me know what you think,
Thanks!
NAND boot (booting without having winmo) is not yet available, but is expected soon.
So currently you still have to run it from Haret, but lemme tell you running Haret from SD on my HD2 currently is so fast/smooth/stable that I have no problems with it, and it runs better than a stock Vibrant or Evo or any other phone IMO.
Plus if you just get that itch for winmo you can load up your favorite ROM, it's a pretty awesome phone, I say go for it.
Hey thanks for the information. What rom are you using which you have everything working?
My suggestion would be to wait and get the Desire HD. The ROM for it is by far my favorite, but it still doesn't support the HD2 camera, which means I don't have camera capabilities in Android. It's a nuisance. Plus, boot times are RIDICULOUSLY slow. Fast into WinMo, but forever into Android.

I use Android as the main OS. If you load a custom WM ROM you can get ones that have apps already built in for auto-rebooting into Android.
I find my booting from WM to Android to be acceptable, but then I did come from an HTC Hero.
I am currently using:
[Everyday Builds][latest linux_on_wince_htc][PPP] CM6.1+ 11152010 v4 and the only problem I have is that mobile data will sometimes freeze, but if I go into airplane mode and then back out it is fine again. I am sure it will be worked out in time. I am actually shocked with how much Android development and research is going into Android on the HD2.
Welcome aboard.
Unconnected.

[Q] TMobile HD2 programmed obsolescence?

Guys, you may think I'm crazy or paranoic but this is my question:
Is there programmed obsolescence for TMobile HD2 with WM 6.5 cell phones?
I can explain. I have one TMobile HD2, my wife has another and my brother too. All phones were bought in different ocasions and different places. About two months ago all three phones presented problems with HTC Sense. HTC Sense couldn't be loaded and the apps couldn't be loaded. We turned off HTC Sense and thigs improved a little but the other apps started to present problems one by one.
All the apps were installed for a long time and weren't changed nor updated.
The apps in my phone were different from my wife's phone and from my brother's phone but the problems were quite similar.
I installed HSPL in all three phones and tried WM6.5 cooked ROMs. They didn't work well. I installed Android and everything is OK. All phones are working fine.
Is it a coincidence that WM6.5 support is ending?
Why the problems only show up with WM6.5 ROMs?
Does anyone know anything about?
All services are cut it
Sense need to connect to windows server for weather....this server are not avaliable....problably in hd2 foruns you will see more people complain about services from htc
Htc need to solve that problem
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
It does not need to connect to HTC server for weather.
I & all staff in our company are running an old nrg build of 6.5.x for business use & it runs flawless & connects to all services as should ...
Don't expect all your problems to be solved by Android & be alert for a few new ones ...
I can understand issues with original T-mobile ROM & perhaps due to provider or region but a good custom 6.5.x windows mobile build still works properly & has no real loss of function from cut Windows support as it never had a lot to start with & not being server/cloud reliant functions fine even if HTC & it's servers disappeared off the face of the earth ...

I would suggest that you install a custom ROM; I'm surprised you managed for so long with the one that comes with the HD2. It really is bloated. If you HSPL and install a custom ROM, your problems will probably go away. The devices are out of warranty anyway.
