Help! Bionix 2.2 messed up accelerometer - Vibrant General

Ok so immaterial go ahead and keep my phone at flashed with bionic froyo but can someone plz help me with 1 problem. My accelerometer seems to be messed up. When i play games, it works perfect but when i turn auto rotate on, my phones screen automatically goes to landscape. Wtf!
I tried calibrating through settings and through the terminal emulator.. i also did a wipe, but nothing. Is this a problem with the rom?

Google maps directional arrow gone

That little arrow which turns when you move around is gone for me.
I only get a blue simple dot, so i have no idea which direction i am actually facing too.
Any idea why this happens?
Means the magnetometer is offline, try checking if it works with a compass app.
Your right, it doesnt work with the compass app. Know how to enable it?
regards.
You got everything under My Locations in Settings checked?
I honestly never heard about the magnetometer suddenly dying
Yea everything is enabled... Geuss ill just have to reflash my phone or something?
EDIT; something probably went wrong when i flashed darky 7.0 rom
I just wiped my data and it works again. Weird.
Hey. I had this problem with v6. I had to do a factory reset and reflash the rom. Pain the ass but darkys rom is more than worth the pain.

Auto rotate problem

My auto rotate has stopped working. Only way to go to landscape is by opening the keyboard. I suspect one of the sensors may be at fault. Raging thunder was much easier to play when it was working now the turning is sort of sporadic. I tried reflashing to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? I have to take my epic to sprint because the left side of my screen is lifting so ill mention that while I'm at it. In the meantime is there anything I can do on my own?

Try the following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926098, you also may want to try toggling the auto rotation box in the settings, and reboot your phone
Also, if your taking it into sprint, you may want to restore your phone back to the stock rom and recovery first, if it isn't already.
Also if you're using a custom launcher make sure the rotation settings on that don't conflict with the original settings. Sometimes you gotta turn the custom launcher's settings off.

Ive seen the opposite with launcher pro,you need to have both enabled for it to work...

My screen is starting to lift on the left side as well. I've dropped my phone once or twice; but they weren't long/hard drops. Maybe this is why?
my left side screen was slightly raised from day 1 out of the box.
Yea it really sucks. Luckily sprint is awesome enough to fix or replace my phone at the service center near me as long as I'm paying for the insurance... and as long as they can prove that I didn't do the damage to it. I can't stand the screen lift more than I can stand the auto rotate. It scares me lol

Alright little update.
I got tired of stock di18 after going back to it experiencing lag on every 2.2 rom I tried. Just flashed the new midnight rom and NOW everything is.zippy as help with no lag. Just so happens my autorotate works now. Did the autorotate lag fix and now its perfect. Might I add gps works perfectly too.
...finally my epic is now finally epic. 1100/2000 in smartbench. That numbers rounded I don't remember the exact figure but point is I luv these devs!

Not sure if this was mentioned, but if you do the auto rotate lagfix: sensorcalibutil_yamaha method, and you get "failed" results, you can go to data/system and delete (or rename):
Ms3c_yamaha.cfg
(I renamed it to ms3c_yamaha.bak)
Then reboot, use the sensorcalibutil_yamaha method again, the cfg file will have been recreated, and it should work.

Yea it works extremely fast. The.phone is flipped and ready to go before I even adjust my hands to use the phone. I love this thing.

Landscape wont work..

Hello, i have a droid x with the latest froyo update and my X is rooted as well. I just noticed this the a few days ago and havent figured out why but my droid wont switch to landscape anymore. i checked and unchecked the auto landscape on the settings uninstalled apps that i have recently installed but nothing seems to work. ive also soft reseted my phone as well. I DO NOT WANT TO FACTORY RESET unless its the only option :'( . Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much,
TubbyKins
If no app or Anything will auto rotate. Then it could be a hardware proven. The accelerometer (I think it is that sensor that detects the tilt) could be broken. It is totally possible that it could break if you have dropped your phone accidentally.

edited, sorry wrong thread
it could be accelerameter but it might alwobbe caused by a bug in an app u have installed. ur best bet would be to do a backup of ur rom then do a hard reset. if ur phone starts switching then its an app, if not then its a hardware issue... sbf back to stock and take it to verizon to get a replacement root and restore...

[Q] Last attempt, upgraded to GB, screen locked dim after first shut off.

I upgraded to synergy's Gingerbread rom and everything went well, I turned off the screen then turned it back on and the screen is stuck on dim (like 20%) and cannot be adjusted. I switched to another GB rom and its the same. I updated the kernel like someone said to 2.6.35.10-htc-kernal_and18-2-signed after updating to gingerbread but it didnt fix the screen brightness issue, Im stuck at like 20% still and cant adjust it with any settings or programs.
Any help?
Is my phone just koo koo pants or has this never happened to anyone else? Or is this one of those problems everyone knows about so they ignore new posts about it
Are you on RC1 or RC2?
RC2 has an "auto-brightness" under the quick settings menu.
You can also go to menu --> settings --> display --> brightness, and make sure that auto brightness is unchecked
Or... All apps, open up spare parts, and there is another brightness mode option there.
I dont believe I remember how to check RC1 or RC2, my hardware version is 0003?
And I tried all settings and none worked, auto brightness is unchecked.
Well RC1 was released a few weeks ago, and RC2 was released yesterday.
When you installed synergy, did you wipe cache and dalvick cache?

Then it must be RC1 because this was last week and yes I do a dalvick whipe as well as full reset.
Ill go grab RC2 and check it out.
Thanks for the help buddy.
It might be the battery saver option on yhe phone, got to settings-power saver and try turning it off.

Installing RC2 now, thank god for leechmod.us
Nope, didnt work. Checked all settings and they do not adjust the screen brightness at all.
Would you recommend leechmod?

yes..........
Try wiping system and boot as well. This may be caused from "left over" system files from your previous roms... I use VR super wipe and do the factory reset and wipe dalvik and cache every time.

I had that same problem on my LG Optimus S when I had it.. I ended up having to unroot and factory reset it.. fixed the problem. then re-rooted and installed all types of Roms and they worked great there after.. now im stuck with this unrooted Evo
Just wondering, has anyone had problems with their media volume staying at the same volume, no matter if you turn it down. This is really frustrating, I have tried flashing my recovery and deleting the stock car panel app (which.i hear causes the problem) please can someone help me. I'm running synergy rc2.

I already had done a full whipe when I installed and Ill try unrooting and going to GB stock, if the screen doesnt work Ill just have to go to the sprint store and get a new phone and wait for GB to be jailbroken which I have every confidence will be sometime soon.
well I unrooted and went to 2.3.3 stock and it still dims the screen after the first shut off. I have to take it to the sprint store now to get fixed but I just had my wisdom teeth removed so I cant go anywhere for a while. yay

HELP!My Epic rotation is messed up and nothing fixes it

I had rotation lag on my Syndicate 1.1 rom,so i applied yamaha rotation lag.
Now my epic's rotation is messed up,when i open my settings, contacts(or any app that rotates) it turns to landscape mode!
I Odined and repartitioned 3 times, applied yamaha rotation fix few times, regular rotation calibration and reset NVRAM and nothing works.
Any suggestions? Is there a "hard rotation reset" or something like that?
My girlfriend threw the phone few times but that was about a month ago,and i just started having this problem yesterday so i doubt that has anything to do with it.
Edit:
And when i do "Horizontal calibration" the ball is not in the middle of the target like it should be but all the way at the bottom and it stays there even after calibration.
Im thinking about checking "Phone Bootloader Update" or "Flash Lock"(whatever that is) in Odin because nothing else seems to work.
Update:Fixed(hopefuly it lasts) it by Odining to DK28,mods can delete this.
Update2:Rotation lag is back,oh well i reather have lag than my rotation be messed up.
Go to syndicate frozen 1.2 and then try the yamaha thing
Out could be a bug our something

Yeah i did that before it dint work. But now after 10 Odin Dk28 and EC05 flashes, repartitions and 20 different calibrations i got it fixed, lol.
i have the same problem, (rotation lag) but im on the leakes eh06, i tryed the calibration through the terminal and it says " could not be found" so the sensor is some where else? any help would be great.

Yours is easy, backup and flash another rom that has the calibration then restore backup.
I know that Syndicate 1.1 got it and 99 percent of all roms do,or try to calibrate upside down-just put your phone upside down underneath a table and do regular calibration in settings menu.
If those two dont work let me know.
well i used to run syndicate 1.01 updated every time they did all the way to 1.2, every time ive had to re-calibrate with terminal. also i did try it with my phone upside down with the part i needed to click hanging of the edge of the table, still slow to rotate. any other ideas? thanks for all the help i really do appreciate it!

This what i did and beleave me this is the only way:
1 Odin to DK28 and check Nvram clear and repartition
2 Calibrate the phone in settings
3 Odin to DK28 like u did first time
4 Calibrate the phone using yamaha
5 Calibrate using settings upside down
6 Flash EC05 and calibrate using yamaha and settings
7 Flash your rom and do upside down method, but dont use yamaha because u might mess up your phone.
Yeah it seams that Odining to DK28 fixes alot of problems that EC05 and other odins cant fix, dont know why but dk28 fixed a few issues that was unfixebale otherwise like my boit samsung logo dissapering.
wow thats alot for just a few seconds of rotation time. haha so what i di is just turn of auto rotate and i just slide the keyboard out when i want it sideway. i was hoping for something simple in the terminal. thanks for your help though man. maybe when they actually release gengerbread we will find a way for it to work
