there was a very nice thread about it the guy had a video and everything, but the thread just disappeared

What would I search for?
Send from an EvO that's EvOlved!

It's been nine months since the release , and no one has had much success .Many have promised attention to it , but it hasn't gotten nearly enough in my opinion . Your beste bet is to try YouTube to find the guy who seems to have gotten the farthest actually seen with this project . He was on here once with an alpha testing phase. I got my fingers crossed that all goes well on a full HDMI mirroring app for all roms from stock to custom as well as asop and sense based. You could also try looking at other forums for his presence and discussion on his work. But make sure to come back to deal for all the other latest on the EVOlution...

Talk about beating a dead horse.

For some reason this keeps happening to HDMI threads in XDA.

It's too bad we don't have it. I busted my lcd and was afraid to take it in to the store I was wanting to have this to unroot my phone before I took it in to get fixed. Turned out they fixed it anyway but it would be neat, not that it would get used much. Just those few times that u would really want it.

CyanogenMod?

Is it possible for us to start working on a port of it now that we have a functional Clockwork Recovery from Koush?
Edit:
$100 currently pooled for the person who gets fully functional CyanogenMod working on the Tab. (T-Mobile)
If you'd like to make any other contributions to this pool, post it in this thread and we'll get a rough idea of how much money we can send someones way once they get this thing functional and easy to install.
Yep, go ahead and get started on it.
It's unlikely that CM6 will come to the Tab any time soon (if ever...), as they are JUST getting some early betas out for the SGS.
The work required to get it working on any new phone/tablet is immense, and therefor I doubt it'll come to the SGT simply because they don't have the time.... or the Tabs.
Well we have Clockwork and I believe we have the source (right?), so..
Money is a good motivator. I'm willing to donate $100 to the first person who gets a working beta of CM ported to the Tab.
Cyan 6 will be perfect for the Tab I will be the 1st Modify Cyan for an Android Tab.

yes thats the same way i am dealing with those individuals!
and i dont think it will be easy to port CM6.1 to the Tab because we would need to rewrite most of the apps because of the higher resolution!
Its gonna be a bit more difficult than porting over. Youll have to rewrite most of the xmls and completely redo a lot of the graphics.
To whoever ports it though, ill give you my cousin, a cat and a sandwich of your choice.

Could carrier apps just be removed with root?
I don't have a tab but I would assume if you have it rooted, you can just download titanium backup from the market and delete carrier apps through it.

I dunno if straying away from the stock Rom is the best idea. Right now as we have it, everything works. Going AOSP will probably break everything. I think its best to take a stock Rom and modify it. I'd like if the menus were black rather then white, but that's just a themeing issue.

i dont know why people are thinking this will be crazy impossible. has anyone visited the viewsonic g tablet xda forum? you realize its a 10.1 in screen and its running cyanogenmod. i dont think it will be that hard to get it on, the real question is WHO will do. its possible and the screen size isnt an issue, just gotta find someone who actually owns this and wants to modify it. i actually like touchwiz, it works well. but the tab just needs to be optimized.

Its not a case of screen size, although that would be an issue with porting, its more like 'who on the CM team has a Galaxy device?' I havent heard of a release for any of the Galaxy devices (i dont check often but its usually big news if they expand the phones theyre working on)

Full hdmi evo

It's awesome and it's gonna make your EvO all new again ! Beware!!! Possibly could result in some warm and fuzzy feelings inside.
Thank...you? But we already have hdmi.
Not sure what you are trying to say , but if you have full hdmi out capabilties on your EVO you should share it with everyone else they might find it useful....Cheers..
To be a little more clear I am talking about a forth coming App . It is called FULL HDMI EVO , and it allows for full mirroring out of the EVO display. Cheers..

In general no.. There are a few more options for those that do. I can say that this app is for sense based roms at the moment.
like what everything seems to be hdmi on alot of sense based roms.
I think the dev would like to have it on all roms Sense based or Aosp...
Meh... I thanked him anyways... I hope he's happy about something at least..

Sorry it is not my app to share . I simply inquired with devloper of the app to be included in his Beta testing of an APP for the HTC EVO that is not currently available in any form. To my surpise I was able to get in the Beta group. The point of this thread is to say first that the app does exist and that it works quite well . As far as I surmised there is great interest in this app. It must be of some use if it is going to maybe , possibly, might be in a CM release which you yourself seemed to think necessary to explain in you first post . So I am confused as to why you are saying this disscussion is useless , yet you continue to post in it. And I dont know you personally but you seem quite angry over this for some reason , I am sorry you have a problem but I am not sure if I can help you in this thread with that..Cheers

(REQ) MHL support for the NS4G

So I realize this is an old topic. I bumped the previous post, its not showing so...here we go.
This is the cherry on top for the ns4g, the one true feature we lack is HDMI out. I know its a developer phone, I'm 100% cool with that, we have things others don't and vice versa. But, I've read a lot on the subject, it seems possible. Back when the ns4g hit best buy, they had a ns4g with HDMI out to a 52" life like ns4g.
I've purchased a Samsung mhl adapter and gave it a shot. No picture or sound as I assumed, though the phone registered the mhl and immediately went to dock mode. So its trying... what's missing? Must be software. If so, how do we wake her up?
I have much love for all the devs around here, i mean no disrespect with offering funds to anyone who takes on this project. I happily donate to devs when using their work, its just that this subject was so popular and then it disappeared completely. I wonder if I missed something.
Thanks for looking and please don't hate, if this is possible. It would be worth it..

That's weird it went straight to dock mode. There was a thread a while ago debating if we had the hardware for it..
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
It may be possible, we would have to research what hardware controls the mhl, and see if our nexus has it.. then we would have to find out what software controls it, and port it.
Doesn't seem to hard, as long as our nexus has the correct hardware. I have no clue about hml, never saw it until now. If any dev was willing to take a crack at finding out how to get it on nexus s, i'd be willing to help.

ANOTHER THREAD about this? Really?!?! Let me guess, the search button or google was broken? Jeeze, talk about beating a dead horse.
Every Dev that has been kind enough to start an ICS Rom has said the hold up is the RIL.
The TB has the ability to do data and voice at the same time, the devs have stated time and time again that complicates things.

Are you unable to search? This has been covered, answered and smashed into the ground... repeatedly
It has less to do with how long ICS has been out, it is the RIL. Look around, there are awesome ICS builds, minus data. Data hold up is because of the RIL. Complaining here won't make one appear out of thin air. The problem lies with HTC at the moment. Don't forget, the TB has been in the "end of life" phase for awhile now. Face it, we have older tech. Older tech = low priority at HTC.
It crazy how the Note, and the inspire 4g get the ICS fully functionable I was very disappointed that my friend on his inspire get the ICS on his phone.the inspire and thunderbolt are almost the same but I'm sure they have different RIL not only that they both on 4g but only as 4g lte on the thunderbolt.. I wouldn't trade my TB for any other phone.since I went threw four screens and one whole housing.all I can.say is we gotta wait.

The newest ICS rom has Calling, Texting, and Wi-fi. I've been using it for over a week now and it works amazing and there is an update coming soon like liquid said! Also there are a couple Jelly Bean Roms in the works although nothing has been released yet a few devs are currently working on it trying to get it to boot! Hopefully there is a leak or an official update for ICS to move the work along but until then this is what you have! If you can get past not having mobile data, camcorder, or netflix you should give it a try!

enkrypt3d: No offense, but your comments are showing a lack of understanding about the development process. This is a *development* thread. It's not for lack of hard work and effort from the community, it's just the inability to make the data radio talk to the operating system. From scratch, this is no easy feat. If you want to complain about not having working ICS or JB on the Thunderbolt, don't do it in a development thread. It's like a teenager busting into a brewery asking why his homemade beer tastes awful.
I'm not trying to say this with any animosity toward you, I'm just letting you know that it probably comes off as rude and insulting to developers that have actually been busting their ass trying to maintain any roms at all for the Thunderbolt, ICS or not.
