Hello,
I updated to GOT 2.2 on my milestone but I have these problems:
- battery life is awful
- gmail not synchronised on most of the times. I have to clear data in settings in order to show the new messages
- launcher pro seems to start from scratch every time that I hit home button
Any help would be highly appreciated!

Can someone who's trying out the Droid Incredible build of Froyo try this test to see if a calendar bug has been fixed? Steps to reproduce:
Create an all day calendar event.
View that event, note the date is still correct.
Click the edit button - on 2.1 the date will have advanced by one.
Exit without making any changes, the event will be saved with the advanced date.
This bug is 100% reproducible on Droid Incredible's and Evo's - I suspect it exists on all HTC Android devices. It does not occur on Motorola phones, so I think it's a bug in the HTC owned software.
I'm hoping they've fixed it in time for the Froyo build.
Tried it with skyraider 2.0.1 froyo Rom and it still does change the date.

I just tried it a few times and couldn't get it to advance. Now I have tried to enter an event near midnight and had it advance without me noticing but I can't make it happen like you said. I'm using the latest leak too BTW.
EDIT: after hitting edit I backed out via hitting Cancel and also tried it using just the back button. Neither way altered the date.

ill try this in a bit
I finally took the plunge and rooted/loaded a new ROM on my wife's phone. Everything went smoothly and I figured that the best/easiest choice for a new ROM would be the CyanogenMod ROM 6.0 that just came out.
Since I loaded the new ROM, I've noticed a few things that I hope someone can help me fix.
First, one of the main reasons that I wanted to load the ROM is so I could get rid of that Amazon Mp3 app. The Froyo ROM I installed still had it
Also, I've noticed that when I try and rotate the screen, it takes several seconds (some times close to a minute) to actually rotate. This mainly happens right when I unlock the phone.
My wife says that the option to have separate tones play when an e-mail comes in vs an SMS has gone away. I haven't played with it, so IDK about this. She just wants to know if the message received was an email or a text.
There were some other things, but I don't remember what they were, so if I remember I'll post. But those are the big ones. If there is anything I can do to fix them, let me know please! Also, if there is a better, smoother, faster ROM for MT3G 1.2 than the CYGN 6.0, I wouldn't be opposed to reflashing.
Thank you for any help!

Let's start off by moving this to General.
The best way to remove a system app (Yes, Amazon MP3 is considered a system app) is by installing Titanium Backup and using that app to remove any system app that you don't want installed. I used it recently to remove Street View (Street.apk) and I was able to install the newest version from Market after a reboot.
There should be no reason why it would take any more than a couple of seconds to rotate your home screen. How many widgets and shortcuts do you have? Try locking the Launcher app to memory. That may help.
SMS notification:
SMS app, Settings, check Notifications, Notification Settings, Select Ringtone
Gmail notification:
Gmail, Settings, check Email notifications, Select ringtone
Email notification:
Email, Settings, check Email notifications, Select ringtone
Thank you! Sorry for posting in wrong forum. I debated General and Android... should have gone General!
As per the homescreen, I believe she only has 2 widgets: Analog Clock and some task killer widget. IDK if the task killer widget is the root of the problem, but I will have her remove it and see if that fixes it. I also don't know how to check if it is using a lot of system resources. Is there some kind of Taskmgr app that will tell me if that app is a resource hog?
Thank you for your response!
That Task Killer Widget. Oh My, that is one resource hogger. I tried it on my Tilt with Froyo ... it hogged up badly . I gave up, and got me a new myTouch 3G 1.2 off ebay.
Ok, I got the sound thing all working (really easy. Should have looked b4 I asked) But the rotation is still really slow
I was given a Droid to help develop a mobile application recently, and even though it has similar specs to the MT3G, and the same OS version, there is not lag in the screen rotation. I've installed most of the same apps on the Droid and still there is no lag.
Is there something else that could be causing the lag? Any thoughts?
Thanks
Have you uninstalled task killer yet? they actually do way more harm than good.
Froyo on Mt3g 1.2?
Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but I thought the only Froyo images for MT3g 1.2 were buggy at best and didn't support wifi or camera, among other things.
A guy I work with just put Froyo on his G1 and says it works faster than Eclair. I want in on that action!
As a MT3G user, I've found that the 6.0 Rom from CY is horrible with a Mytouch sadly. It's the rom not agree'ing with the Mytouch that is the problem, not the phone.
I'd suggest the 6.1 RC1 Mod from Cy, or this linked Rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814142
I've had no problem with the linked rom working for me. I had some minor issues with the RC1 not recieving all my texts, though honestly I upgraded my radio at the same time as changing over to the new Rom, so I'm not sure if it was the ROM or the Radio.
I updated my friend's Droid X that was running stock 2.1. to 2.2 today and she is about to have a cow with her SMS program now. She's running the stock messaging app and when she gets a new message it is putting the message at the bottom of the screen, with previous messages by people above and below it. After she replies to the message it moves to the top of the screen. She has a friend who is encountering the same thing. I also tried to see if I could duplicate this in Chomp SMS and I did indeed encounter the same problem. Is anyone else running into this problem?
YES!
I thought it was just me. This has been driving me crazy. I'm on the .15 leak for what it's worth.
Same issue with handsent sms. Just about to unistall it....but I guess i'll just have to suffer with it.
same here .15
I've seen this on the last two leaks and the official 2.2. ChompSMS is way off (still) and Handcent works but is still a little buggy. Sometimes one or two convos are out of order. When I go to the stock SMS app, it's out of order there, too- so I assume it's a 2.2 bug. Along with the constant force closing when accessing Battery Manager.

Hi
Since KP2 is released with Working modem and calls are working I would appreciate if DEV's possibly could give us a few Tips to run this as smoothly as possible.
KP2 although faster has still a bit of force closes so any help in reducing this will be greatly appreciated.
I'll Try to post a few things I find around the forums to get all in one place.
I9100XXKP2 DOWNLOAD
http://www.sammobile.com/2011/12/18/...r-sgs2-custom/
1. Flashing via ODIN
Code > PDA
Modem > Phone
Is all you need to flash via Odin, rest can be remained untouched
2. Trebuchet Launcher by cyanmod
Is an ICS launcher and a good replacement for TW (will try to find the download link. I found TW force closes a lot on me so this works perfect.
3. Remove the Red Click Highlight Box
Go to Apps > Dev Tools > Development settings > strictmode visual indicator > put it in OFF MODE
Nice thread mate!
Just posted these tips elsewhere:
In order to get the best possible experience with these leaked ROMs you need to:
* Install the Bezke XXKP1/2 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393569) - Flashable through CWM and is pre-rooted and also has the RIL fixes for 3G data
* Change the default keyboard to the standard Android one as soon as you can one to stop the keyboard FC's.
* Install the Trebuchet launcher (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=821149&d=1324230099) - and place it in /system/app folder. It should open when you press the home button. Set it as the default launcher.
* Stop the media scanner from running - it's a BIG battery drainer - go to Settings/Applications/Running and stop it there, and also stop the cached process
* Turn off key press sounds and lock screen sounds - having these on causes a continuous partial partial wave lock called 'AudioOut_1' - battery drainer
* Install these Calendar apks (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19448865&postcount=2) in /system/app to get the calendar working. Once in /system/app, click on them both to install them. The Calendar will now work
* If you want to use the Contacts.apk and Phone.apk from the 'vanilla' ICS ROM (instead of the installed TW ones) download those APK's (http://www.multiupload.com/6T0019180O) and put them in /system/app. Don't install the MMS.apk though it will break things!
* Turn off the red border from appearing on some screens by going to the Dev Tools App > Development settings > strictmode visual indicator > put it in OFF MODE - then reboot for this to take effect
Battery life then falls to normal levels. Be aware though that when you connect your phone to your computer to transfer files etc, that a media scan will be run again when you disconnect. You'll have to force stop the media scan again otherwise it will keep running.
This should be a sticky! Is there a way to get the stock ics notification bar?, samsung's bar is horrendous

Nice One @Interfreak some awesome tips there...
I guess I'll leave it in your post as you are second anyway.. will see if we get another leak before christmas which might be better than the KP2
Hi, thanks for this thread, let's hope it build up.
I am using the Sam mobile KP2 leak, flashed using mobile Odin (code and modem) and have removed tw and the hubs. I use Nova launcher and replaced gallery with quikpic .
I am using default hardware acceleration.
I use TouchPal keyboard.
So far, I have not had any issues with media scanner at all.
I get closes occasionally, but they usually start find the second attempt.
I have started playing with the 3g settings in build.prop but have not found any good tweaks yet in there.
Has anyone been able to investigate the governor yet? I can't help feel that it is using a Dev setting that is causing the closes.. .

hey fellas
everything seems to work pretty good now... only thing i noticed so far is i cannot import contacts from my sim card... whats up with that? where are my contacts
thanks in advance
A tip that I just thought of (and enabled):
Download the SlideIT keyboard from the Android market and then get the SlideIT ICS skin in viola - you have a very close approximation of Swype working with your ICS build.
New edition of my mod for Contact.apk and Dial.apk and Mms.apk with standard ics graphics

With these quick fixes in place, is this really workable as a daily? I'm only slightly impatient for ICS love so if there are still a lot of annoying niggles I won't bother...

Was wondering the same thing.. anyone? Is it worth installing or is it better to wait for a more stable build?
Its OK to run as a daily, if you don't mind tinkering with it a fair bit.

Not worth it until ICS is faster/better than 2.3.6, which it currently is not. It's fun to play with though to see what samsung has in store for us for next year!
The room looks nice, here are some problems that I'm experiencing :
- lots of force closes on settings page
- Some random fc with android process acore
- Facebook app doesn't show Any fonts. Really weird this one
- some random crashes with phone and contacts apps (aosp)
One thing that surprised me : battery life is good overall!
Can't wait for devs to tinker with the rom.
Hi guys,
I've been using the HTC U Ultra for the past month and it's been fine, fast and stable, but SMS apps are slow to open, I've tried stock app and Google messenger app, both take a few seconds to open, takes long to open the app and then long as well to open a sms thread, is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I'm running the latest 1.64.400.3 build.
Thank you all =)

Thanks for the reply, I don't have that many SMS right now, I might get about 5 sms a day and that is it, interesting is Whatsapp, which I use a lot more, opens almost instantly, it is just the SMS apps, maybe the database for the sms's is a bit dodgy, I might try and do a factory reset at some point... I saw a review from Damir Franc on youtube and he also had the same issue, just wanted to know if this is the same with everyone, or just some units...
Does the same thing happen when the sms app is still open in background? did you already try a reboot? or maybe there is a thread with many messages or even pictures that you could try to delete.. just some ideas
i have same problem with messanger app in htc u ultra!
any body have a solution?
Ive found using HTCs Boost+ app and "clear Junk" once a week helps sometimes, but not always.... yeah... it can be slow..
Im also having the same problem with the People/ Dialer app... Pressing someones name and it actually connecting takes about 2 - 3 seconds..
Im running 1.64.401.3 in UK... but still on 7.0 with security 1st July 17.... Why arent we getting updates?.... I do realise HTC update over Play Store, so its only Firmware the Ultra gets.... but alot of the apps are being updated for 7.1 / 7.11 and even 8.0 now.. so these newer updates are going to effect older Android builds.... but seriously.... 6 months and still nothing..
Come on HTC.. Show the U Ultra some love
finally i solved this problems you should Wipe data/factory reset and next delete boost app after that!
then just use google store app and update your apps!
i do these work and all app work without any problem...
i hope my answer helps every one have these problems...
