Is bluetooth keyboard support standard in Froyo? - Vibrant General

I managed to sync and use an Apple bluetooth keyboard with my Vibrant using Eugene's Froyo rom! Is keyboard support via bluetooth a standard Froyo feature, or should we all thank Eugene for yet another cool feature added!?
I'm too new to post a link, but a URL of my demonstration on Youtube is youtube.com with the following extension /watch?v=wKNrNirxmGA

Bluetooth for filetransfer locked?

Greetings,
I ve heard that bluetooth was kind of locked for HTC Hero, and you was unable to send - receive files with it.Anyone tested it?Maybe what i've heard was just for the beta version that sites had for review.
Huh? You really cant use bluetooth to transfer files in Android!
unless you use some 3rd party apps..
and i also want to know if it is working..
there is a free app in the market:
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-androbex-activity-jBFm.aspx
No, Android OS does not support file transfer yet. It only supports HFP and A2DP. thei si the same on all 1,5 devices by samsung as well.
Google haven't programmed it into teh OS yet, and so you need some third party stuff. some work some don't, but native support in android is coming in a later update, either 2.0 or later.
Thanks for replys. This is kinda basic for a phone, isn't it? :S
Irispen is this app you ve linked working Ok on Hero?

im 80% sure since hero is android 1.5..
not 100% sure because no one is confirming it.
Hero
Looks like it's 1.5
being that 2.0 is nowhere near being released, of course it is.
yeh the hero is 1.5.
It does not support file transfer just like the iphone.
If you have a rooted phone you can do this by downloading the bluex app off marketplace.
That allows you to transfer over bluetooth
bluex doesnt work dont waste ur money!!

Blues does not work on the HTC Hero or Donut builds...or any other bt transfer apps on the market as of right now!
Also every developer ive contacted in regards to these bt apps have not responded so i went ahead and refunded the money!
Isthe bluetooth problem with HERO fixed with the 2.0 firmware?
I wanted to buy the HTC HERO for my birthday and when I heard that it doesn't have blue tooth file transfer I was shocked. is it true that it doesn't support file transfer?
if yes is this the problem with the 1.5 android?
have they fixed it on the 2.0 firmware?
because they offer the 2.0 download on the HTC site. I wanted to know if it supports file transfer with blue tooth, I would get it then update it to the 2.0
please let me know. thank you

Don't mix up things ...
You can transfer files from PC to Hero over USB, no problem. Currently with Android 1.5 it is not possible to do it via Bluetooth.
Android 2.0 is not out yet, I don't know, what you're referring to, but it would take a couple of weeks until we see an official 2.0 release from HTC
And these are the 'official' enhancements for Android 2.0 regarding Bluetooth:
Bluetooth
•Bluetooth 2.1
•New BT profiles: Object Push Profile (OPP) and Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
I assume, that the PBAP profile was added by HTC in the Hero_2.73.405.5 ROM, as since I made the update, my Navigon MN|7 Navigation system can access and use Hero's phone book ...

Video with Sence 2.1 on htc hero

Here is a video of htc hero with the latest rom on the htc eris hero is a villain video of Rom
part1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgycJ3XPWOQ
part2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMafobLFIps&feature=related
Yeah right, another video of the same custom rom (there are like ... endless amounts of those droid eris leak videos). Would you people at least show new features? No, it's not a new feature if it was shown by all the other videos already. I know what the pinch homescreen leep whatever thing looks like, everyone does. More important are the features inside. Does it have a proper VPN client to connect to professional VPN networks? Are the bugs in the browser solved (You couldn't actually select and copy with the trackball in the 1.5 Senseui)? What about the new features there... selecting words to translate? Any new languages/input systems?
Man, really. Why do people make those crappy videos that don't contain anything new. And why do you post that here?
For me, I would like to know how WPA2-Enterprise and certificates work in 2.1
I know HTC implemented some form of WPA2-Enterprise in Hero, but I couldn't get it to install *.ca or *.cer certificates (Android 1.5 doesn't originally support WPA2-Enterprise)
Also, are there any new widgets?
I heard there's supposed to be new twitter client
GRemote Pro should also work through bluetooth on Android 2.0 and higher

No new profiles added.
Added ability to share contacts using vCard
Added ability to export all contacts - useful to transfer contacts to car kits
Improved compatibility with headsets and car kits.

Are any of those what you're looking to do?

Hardware keyboard for Android

Wondering, with android, if it'ld now be possible to use a bluetooth keyboard. Any news or references to this subject for the HD2? Regards

BUMP.......BUMP........
if you got a keyboard, try to use and report
OK, I'll bite...
Android version 2.2
Baseband version 15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2
Kernel version 2.6.32.9-38116-g3af9a39-dirty
[email protected]#74
Build number 2.09.405.8 CL218634 release-keys
Software number Froyostone Clean
Browser version Webkit 3.1
Keyboard tested:
Think Outside iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Keyboard, testing and working under WM, part number 101867
Shows up under Bluetooth Devices in Android as "Think Outside Keyboard." After associating the keyboard with the phone, reads "Paired but not connected." Typing does nothing. And that's as far as I've managed to get.
Thats too bad.. I'm using swype atm which is also fast, or the multitouch kb, but a bt kb would be fantastic.
PROGRESS!
Okay, so it seems there are no bluetooth HID drivers included in Android by default. HOWEVER. I've managed to get this one sort-of-working-ish:
(damn forum won't let me post links. Google for Teksoft Blueinput)
Using my iGo Stowaway keyboard, I can get it to input text. But if you want it to recognise every keypress, you have to type v e r y s l o w l y. Slower, in fact, than using the onscreen keyboard. So, this software is useful as a demonstration of principle, but not suitable for day-to-day use yet.
SUCCESS!
Using HyperDroid 1.6 build, which contains Cyanogenmod 6, I was able to pair my keyboard, connect to it, and type! TYPE, I SAY!
Cyanogenmod 6, from what I've read, is the deciding factor on whether a HID bluetooth keyboard will work. In short, yes! If you have Cyanogenmod 6, you can use a HID-compatible bluetooth keyboard on your Android HD2!

Native VoIP/SIP Support

Hello,
After the Gingerbread update I was expecting the Native SIP/VoIP Client Android comes with however I have not been able to find it. Did Motorola remove this feature? My EVO 3D has it built in and works fine.
yep use a client or wait for AOSP ROM
