There's not much added to FroYo bluetooth wise:
Android 2.2 release (Froyo)
Platform features
Based on Bluez 4.47 with Linux Kernel 2.6.32
No new profiles added.
Added ability to share contacts using vCard
Added ability to export all contacts - useful to transfer contacts to car kits
Improved compatibility with headsets and car kits.

Are any of those what you're looking to do?
they added hands free voice dialing with froyo.

Greetings,
I ve heard that bluetooth was kind of locked for HTC Hero, and you was unable to send - receive files with it.Anyone tested it?Maybe what i've heard was just for the beta version that sites had for review.
Huh? You really cant use bluetooth to transfer files in Android!
unless you use some 3rd party apps..
and i also want to know if it is working..
there is a free app in the market:
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-androbex-activity-jBFm.aspx
No, Android OS does not support file transfer yet. It only supports HFP and A2DP. thei si the same on all 1,5 devices by samsung as well.
Google haven't programmed it into teh OS yet, and so you need some third party stuff. some work some don't, but native support in android is coming in a later update, either 2.0 or later.
Thanks for replys. This is kinda basic for a phone, isn't it? :S
Irispen is this app you ve linked working Ok on Hero?

im 80% sure since hero is android 1.5..
not 100% sure because no one is confirming it.
Hero
Looks like it's 1.5
being that 2.0 is nowhere near being released, of course it is.
yeh the hero is 1.5.
It does not support file transfer just like the iphone.
If you have a rooted phone you can do this by downloading the bluex app off marketplace.
That allows you to transfer over bluetooth
bluex doesnt work dont waste ur money!!

Blues does not work on the HTC Hero or Donut builds...or any other bt transfer apps on the market as of right now!
Also every developer ive contacted in regards to these bt apps have not responded so i went ahead and refunded the money!
Isthe bluetooth problem with HERO fixed with the 2.0 firmware?
I wanted to buy the HTC HERO for my birthday and when I heard that it doesn't have blue tooth file transfer I was shocked. is it true that it doesn't support file transfer?
if yes is this the problem with the 1.5 android?
have they fixed it on the 2.0 firmware?
because they offer the 2.0 download on the HTC site. I wanted to know if it supports file transfer with blue tooth, I would get it then update it to the 2.0
please let me know. thank you

Don't mix up things ...
You can transfer files from PC to Hero over USB, no problem. Currently with Android 1.5 it is not possible to do it via Bluetooth.
Android 2.0 is not out yet, I don't know, what you're referring to, but it would take a couple of weeks until we see an official 2.0 release from HTC
And these are the 'official' enhancements for Android 2.0 regarding Bluetooth:
Bluetooth
•Bluetooth 2.1
•New BT profiles: Object Push Profile (OPP) and Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
I assume, that the PBAP profile was added by HTC in the Hero_2.73.405.5 ROM, as since I made the update, my Navigon MN|7 Navigation system can access and use Hero's phone book ...
What are the main reasons that no builds seem to support it?
/just curious
I believe it is because no one has HTC's proprietary drivers compiled against the kernel used in the 1.6 builds, but I could be wrong.
Flipz 2.1 pretty much has full bluetooth support. Including bluetooth file transfer.

So there are no > 1.5 roms with both bluetooth and camera support?
all 1.5 roms have bluetooth and camera. Its the 2.0+ roms thats been missing some bluetooth features. No 2.0+ have a working camera.

Sorry > 1.5 as in 1.6 or higher. I was hoping to get the new market, faster OS, new maps, etc. - but it seems I'm SOL if I want both camera and bluetooth?
I managed to sync and use an Apple bluetooth keyboard with my Vibrant using Eugene's Froyo rom! Is keyboard support via bluetooth a standard Froyo feature, or should we all thank Eugene for yet another cool feature added!?
I'm too new to post a link, but a URL of my demonstration on Youtube is youtube.com with the following extension /watch?v=wKNrNirxmGA
I recently purchased a BlueAnt S4 bluetooth device for my car. It works wonderfully with the HD2 for answering calls, and can even dial BING services free, such as movies, weather, etc.
However, this version of Android apparently does not support voice dialing, so to make a call I still have to use the HD2 keyboard, which is awkward when driving.
Any apps in development for voice dialing support? Or is there another version of Android that supports it? I can't find anything definite by searching throughout XDA.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I'm running:
TMOUS HD2
Android Version 2.2.1
Baseband Version 15.42.50.11H_2.15.50.14
Kernel Version 2.6.3.2.15ocm_rl-gb02686c-dirty
Mod Version CleanDROIDv1.11 (based on CMN 2.00 by ocm7)
Build Number FRG83
Thanks,
Ken

Have a look at this video.
http://www.youtube.com/pocketnowvideo#p/u/34/0L_IhqGcRM8
Voice dialing starts at around 8 minutes in but the rest is also pretty interesting.
You might also want to take a look at the google "car home" app from the Android market if you haven't heard about that already.
Thank you. That video was very interesting, but the app doesn't do what I need it to do, namely, allow me to use my voice to dial from the bluetooth adapter. If that google app will only go one step farther and integrate the use of voice commands via bluetooth instead of only via the phone's microphone, I'll be a happy camper!

The last official WWE ROM which has Microsoft Bluetooth stack is Topaz ROM, both for WM6.1 (21042) and WM6.5 (21887). HTC Tachi also has MS bluetooth stack but this is not WWE. Thereafter all I can see that HTC shipped with Broadcom bluetooth stack.
Anyone know if there are more ROM with MS bluetooth stack? I haven't looked at Omnia2 and Sony Xperia ROMs.
Wowser, are you saying that the Topaz actually can use both the MS stack and the Broadcomm stack? Man, I've been trying to put the Broadcomm stack onto my Touch Pro, I think it really is possible now. Thanks!
It is not that easy as moving few files (I know, too bad ). I want MS bluetooth stack on my HD2, as it supports Bluetooth Mouse profile and with proper software it can show you cursor . Plus it has better A2DP sound and less c*aps out.
I have here also HP HX4700 that supports it and uses Widcomm /Broadcomm?/ BT stack, it has some kind of plugin for that. But I doubt it is compatible anyway, as this one is rather old (4 - 6 years).

I actually think it's easier to put the MS stack onto another device than the Widcomm one. What you need is a device like the Topaz with the registry settings for OEMDrivers (for example Serial_btur**.dll) as well as a WM build that has the MS stack, and it should work. Of course what I'm trying to do is add the widcomm stack, so it might not be as easy as it sounds ^_^;
Xperia X1 is one of devices with ms stack.
as well as a WM build that has the MS stack

SYS build doesn't matter btw (if you don't delete anything from it).

For a complete bluetooth experience, it's crucial to have the original "bluetooth" in the "Common" folder (OSKitchen). For example, I've worked with HTC builds that did not include that folder, thus breaking stuff like PAN visibility (because Broadcomm controlled that).
So, I've been looking through some Topaz ROMs, but I can't seem to find any with the Broadcomm stack. These are the ones I have tried:
Code:
RUU_Topaz_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.40.707.1_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.20t.25.10_3.43.25.19_Ship
RUU_Topaz_S2_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.4_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.44etc.25.35_4.49.25.91_Ship
HTCPUREATTOriginalShipROM
I don't have a legendary connection speed, and thus I don't have the capacity to try them all, but which ones include the Broadcomm stack?
The list of ROMs I am able to get:

If its possible to get the MS stack working on the HD2 I would be a very happy bunny. I moved from a Blackstone to a HD2 and although the speed increase was fantastic there are some annoying issues and Bluetooth is the biggest. Other than the speed I was really happy with the Blackstone and everything just worked - slowly but worked...
