you can't change your spl version 3.03 with HSPL sir, it's incompatible.

but turn back on which stock ROM.

Go on the website of HTC, select the aria of where your device came from (or in case if you have a branded device you need to go on the operator website)
- download with the help of your S/N your Stock rom 1.66 ore 1.47 depending of your aria/branded version.
- Install the new (Previous) ROM.
That's it.

Depending on what radio you have installed on your rom. If you have the correct radio then yes, just copy the Android rom to your sd card and run dual boot. If however you have the wrong radio then you need hspl in oder to change the radio first.
Check here for radios that work with Android if needed.
if you have spl 3.03, most likely your radio is 2.15., so no problems (all one needs is a radio >=2.08) and you have it!! (check in phone software in settings).....put your favourite android folder on sd card...open the folder, click clrcad (nothing happens...this step is necessary to enable sound in android)..next click haret...android will boot..., wait for 5-15 mins for first time boot...will take time..........enjoy
as for jmd dual boot cab..install in windows (cab file=windows )..this will show a selection option at bootscreen when you power on the phone...select between android or windows...enjoy (see also EBL loader...an alternative to jmd...has other options too)
tnks guys for all your help,
i have done it and works good,

I was able to downgrade my SPL 2.10.0000 to 2.08.HSPL simply by us by using one of the earlier roms listed here [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=655653"[/URL] first then running the HSPL2_1024 and choosing 2.08.HSPL from the list.

So i have a few questions you guys could hopefully help me out with.
1. Is HSPL needed to install MAGDLR?
2. Is SPL something you install or come with the phone?
3. If you have a spl newer than what it supported how will you be able to flash a rom or run android from nand?
4. Is windows mobile device center needed to install HSPL when the phone is in bootloader or to update radio?
Thanks

1. Yes HSPL is needed to install MAGLARD (2.08)
2. Yes, SPL comes with the phone.
3. If your spl is higher than needed, download the 1.66 or 1.42 rom from htc and install it, your spl will automaticly get downgraded.
4. Yes

Yes - you need HSPL3, which (confusingly enough) allows you to install HSPL 2.08

SPL is already on your phone when you 1st get it. It's what boots the OS.

If you want to flash anything custom then you need HSPL. If you have a later version of SPL on your phone then you need to get an official ROM from the HTC site (or here, if you can find the correct version for your carrier) and install that from the SD card, using the bootloader. There's plenty of threads on here that can instruct you on how to do that. That will downgrade your SPL version to something suitable that will allow you to install HSPL 2.08 over it.

WMDC is Vista or later. It was ActiveSync before that, but they basically handle communications with your phone in the same way. You need to use whichever of them is relevant when you first flash HSPL on your phone. Other flashes (ROMs and radios can be done from the SD card, as discussed in question 3 above.)
I hope this helps mate. There's a lot to pick up but you're at least asking questions that suggest you've done some reading beforehand. That always goes down well on this forum
Just keep reading, but feel free to ask if you can't find answers anywhere.
Good luck

hi
i have a little question:can i run android from sd card without HSPL?
i mean i have spl 3.03 on my HD2 and i want runing android from my sd card whitout HSPL my device.
ROM:3.14 radio:2.15.50.14 spl:3.03
Hello everyone
I know this is a question that has been asked 100 times before, but a post from mskip got me worried.
Here's my problem:
- I want to install a Gingerbread ROM on my HD2. I have understood everything about how to do that, thanks to XDA.
- My HD2 is currently running a Winmo 6.5 3.14 stock ROM from HTC's website.
- To install it, I had to install SPL3 on my phone. So on bootloader, my phone now shows SPL-3.03.HSPL (Cotulla HSPL btw, thanks Cotulla )
- And to install the Android ROM, I know I have to downgrade to SPL-anything between 1 and 2.
- I know you can do that by installing a stock ROM, but I read somewhere in a post by mskip that you CANNOT suppress HSPL3 by downgrading the ROM.
Anyway, in short, my question is:
Can I suppress HSPL3 and eventually manage to start the install of an Android ROM?
I'm not a complete noob, but not an expert either and I don't want to brick my phone or anything.
Thank you very much in advance
I don't understand what you mean by "suppress" it but basically all you need to do is to get 2.08.HSPL on your phone. How you do that is boot to 3.03 (volume down and power) and open HSPL3 on your PC. Then after it finds your phone etc. on the phone just choose 2.08.HSPL from the menu and flash that. Then after that installs you should be able to flash your radio and MAGLDR etc.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Skellyyy is completely right you need to run the HSPL again on your HD2 and select HSPL version 2.08 HSPL because MAGLDR only supports 2.08 HSPL right now. You will hsve to flash MAGLDR in order to flash a Andriod ROM.
Thank you guys for the quick answers.
But the point is that the ROM I currently have (3.14) only runs with SPL3.
So if I downgrade to HSPL2.08, isn't there a risk that my phone is not going to be able to do anything after that, let alone installing Android?
See, that is a quote from the post I'm using to install Android. It says:
"A: Install HSPL3
Prerequisites
* Windows Mobile Device Center installed on Windows Vista / Windows 7 or
* ActiveSync installed on Windows XP
* You must have any SPL version from this list on your device:
o SPL 1.42.0000
o SPL 1.62.0000
o SPL 1.66.0000
o SPL 2.07.0000
o SPL 2.08.0000
o SPL 2.10.0000
(To check your SPL version, hold the Volume Down button and do a reset)
You should have this SPL version unless you are using the latest 3.14 ROM with SPL 3.03.0000. No worry, just downgrade your Windows Mobile ROM from v3.14 to v1.66 will do. Download HTC HD2 v1.66 ROM. Then downgrade your phone from SPL 3.03.0000 to SPL 1.42.000."
So it says here, downgrade to v1.66 ROM, and then downgrade from SPL3 to SPL1.42. That is not very clear to me. Isn't that supposed to be the same thing?
If downgrading to ROM 1.66 downgrades SPL to 1.42, then why should I AFTERWARDS downgrade from SPL3 to SPL1.42? Isn't that going to be already done?
And more importantly, you guys say I should simply run HSPL and choose an appropriate version, which is yet another method than what is explained above...
Oh boy I'm confused...

No need to worry my friend I am currently running a 3.14 ROM as you can see by my sig. I also have HSPL 2.08 on my HD2 just incase I decide I want to run Andriod or flash a custom ROM. I can tell you my HD2 is working just fine.
No those prerequsites are just the showing you the SPL version that you habe to have to flash HSPL 3. You only have to have ond of those versions but it has to be a version included in the list or you can not flash HSPL 3. If you do not have one of these versiond then the flashing to 1.66 then to HSPL 3 is just MSkip telling you how to get a SPL version needed to flash HSPL 3. But this is not needed now as there is a HSPL 4 version now that allows you to flash 2.08 HSPL when you have SPL 3.08.0000 or SPL 3.10.0000 with out having to downgrade your ROM.
So that basically means I should get HSPL4, run it and choose HSPL2.08 for example, and then I will be able to follow all steps to install and Android ROM?
Correct?

You have a tmous,,, you can't run 3.14 roms on a reg hd2 with any spl except 3.03.0000 or 3.03.Hspl.you get very unstable phone that thinks it has the 576meg ram unlocked but only really has 200 or so,with only 50 or so free for user apps. Unuseable.
OP correct, into bootloader, Hspl 4, 2.08.Hspl then back into bootloader and flash magldr from there.

Samsamuel I do understand what you are telling me here and I was a little concerned about this when I first flashed the HSPL 2.08 to my HD2. But to be honest I have noticed no real change in my HD2's performance compared to before. Also to be fair though I only have 5 nonpreinstalled apps on my HD2 as I found early on with my HD2 that a lot of apps can effect the performance of the HD2. I also never have more than two apps running at the same time as a rule too.
At the OP yes download and run HSPL 4 and choice 2.08 HSPL and you will be good.

because you have a tmous,,,,,, tmous 3.14 rom comes with spl 2.10.0000 and works with 2.08.xxxx, (or it may come with spl 3.03.0000, im not sure, but it doesnt require it, and your phone is proof of that) however the regular 3.14 roms come with and will not work without 3.03.xxxx.
Oh I get what you are saying now the TMOUS can do this but the EU can not. I was not aware of this. Sorry it took a minute for me to understand, I have been sick for like two weeks so my head is a kittle foggy because of it lol.
heh, it doesnt get mentioned often in relation to tmous.
tmous users never get the unstable system/bad ram error when they flash 3.14, regardless of the spl, so they never need to notice what the spl is before / after, so dont notice it didnt get updated.
Im sick too, its the time of year for it. Not that anyone would notice teh difference, i am still sat hunched over the keyboard, swearing under my breath occasionally at anyone who gets close,,,,,
Sam, it wouldn't really matter though would it? As he plans on flashing MAGLDR straight away so there wouldn't even be WinMo on the phone to make it unstable?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Oh no course not, all that stuff is fine.
Thank you very much guys, this is all very clear for me now.
I now know that HSPL4 -> 2.08 -> then droid flash is doable for me
Good night/day to you all.
Hi experts,
I have a HTC HD2, which I want to nand load with Android. Currently, I have SPL 3.03. How can I downgrade SPL 3.03 to 1.42 ? I have already loaded an older WinMo ROM 1.66 on my HD2 ... but, the SPL was not downgraded.
Also, any recommendations on a good Gingerbread Android Nand ROM with Sense 3.0 for my HD2 will be appreciated.

I would recommend re-flashing rom 3.14, then using HSPL4. Select 2.08HSPL from the HSPL menu and it will work fine. Also, this saves you the trouble of flashing a new radio which is, from what I've read, the main way in which people brick their devices. Good luck.
Thanx a ton, guys. It worked. I have loaded HyperDroid Gingerbread Nand ROM .. and, its working fine.
One more question ... after flashing the ROM, can I now delete the temp files and ROM Zip file copied into the root SD card ?
Thanx.

yes u can ...but i suggest u let the rom zip in the sd card ....so even if something goes wrong and u r far from ur computer u can reinstal the rom ...just in case ...i always have 3 or 4 roms in the sd card ust in case ...and i suggest u make a backup
hit thank if we halped u
download the appropriate ruu for your hd2, the rename it to a zip file.
next extract the zip and you should see a file called leoimg.nbh
put this file on your sd card and reboot into bootloader (hold vol down and power until the multicoloured screen appears)
the phone should ask you if you want to install the file, then install it
you will now have a fully reset phone with stock spl, so you can now reflash the spl/hspl of your choice!
hope this helped hit thanks if it did!
I have HD2 with windows mobile 6.5, ROM version 3.14 and radio 2.15.
I am looking to install Android on my HD2. Can someone please advise on following -
1. If I install Android, can I revert back to Windows at a later stage? If yes, would that be possible by simply installing the Windows ROM ?
2. Is NAND install, an installation on memory card? If yes, what is the other type of install ?
3. Can someone point to the latest stable version of Android build that I can install ?

Thanks...Its a very useful tutorial.
To revert back to original WinMo 6.5 or to uninstall HSPL, can I just connect the phone to PC and run the packaged installer I downloaded from HTC site ?
Also, the tutorial mentions HSPL1, I have read elsewhere on this site to use HSPL4 for 6.5 ROMs and HSPL 3 for Android or WP7. Is that correct ?
I am still new and havent installed any custom ROM or Android on the phone yet, so apologies for any naive questions.
Finding 6.5 too restrictive and looking to upgrade to Android or WP7 on my HD2.

flashing stock from usb will reset everything EXCEPT it wont remove HSPL, , that's the whole original point of hspl, to allow flashing without itself being removed.
To remove hspl you could either flash the same stock rom but using the sd card method, OR just use the hspl program again, but this time select an spl that ends .0000 and not .hspl
So, example, , your spl is 3.03.0000, , you use hspl4.exe to set 2.08.hspl so that you can run magldr/android/wp7, , later you want to return to stock 3.14 so you flash the 3.14 rom over USB, and then run hspl4.exe again but choose 3.03.0000
