[ICON] Sense Mail icon for Gmail Unread Count - Desire Themes and Apps

Hi folks.
I wasn't very happy with the Gmail Unread count icons as none of them really looked much like the Sense one I was used to... So I've created a custom image that you can use with Gmail Unread count. It's not perfectly exact, but you can't really tell the difference (my one's the one on the left in the screen grab).
Just stick the attached PNG on your SD card in \gmail-unread-count\ then choose it as a custom image when you start the widget.
If someone can do a better job, feel free to attach and I'll stick it in this post.

Thanks, I'll be using this .e

Iphone-like email?

I am so envious of the Iphone email client. I wish i can have more "touch-ability" with my email. It gets a paint all the micro-tapping.
Anyone knows a better program. I use Gmail as my main mail server.
Cheers
Paul
I use FlexMail 4, pretty "finger-friendly", I have my accounts witha larger font so they are easier to select, and there is awindow animation. SO, if your in a selected folder, you can tap the left bar, and it will slide back to the folder view.
does the new flexmail work with the stock message counter?

Currently it doesn't, but I've been glancing at there forum and it seems it's in the works for future builds. But personally, everything it does makes up for it hands down.
Almost forgot to say that S2U2 v1.01+ has the FlexMail notification.

not enough mail-icons in touchflo

hi,
the problem is simple and the topic says it: I have set up 5 mail accounts with outlook mobile but the touchflo-ui only have 4 icons for me. and and of them is reserved for the fixed standard outlook mail account.
thats a bit uncomfortable... how can i change the number of mail icons, that on on the right side in touchflo?
thanks in advance!
Interesting, I was wondering how I could see the difference between just the two accounts I have... (I have two identical envelopes). Anyone?
I also asked this earlier: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460114
But, I've not had any useful suggestions. It's not a big headache but it would be nice to find a way to differentiate between the icons.
Same here...being able to differentiate between the icons of my multiple email accounts would be an awesome feature.
Maybe partly off-topic for this thread but when I look at my "Programs" screen I'm already collecting quite some programs there. All of these are only identified by their ICON (on the square buttons). Sometimes (especially with similar programs) I simply do not know anymore what is what... (now I know of course that if I'd want to see the actual program names, the file-explorer would do nicely. However, I'm wondering if there would be something out there that first gives the program name when you click a button and only executes if you confirm (that would have the additional benefit that if you scroll down in your list you can no longer accidentally press a button)... Makes sense??
Right or Left?

Is there something I'm missing but it should be in the lower left had corner of the larger envelope, but you guys are probably referring to the smaller icons on to the right, right?

The larger envelope in the lower left (on the bar) does give the number of unread emails but it does not indicate which account you're in. Same for the two identical little envelopes in the mid-upper right. Would be nice if you could make the envelopes different to be able to see the difference between e.g. your Gmail and Hotmail account...

The small envelopes in the upper right do not differentiate between accounts, the mid-sized envolope in the TouchFlo scroll bar shows the number of new emails, but if you have mail in an inbox and select the small envelope for that account, then the LARGE envelope in the middle of the screen showing the message preview will have the account name at the bottom left (e.g. Gmail)
See attached image!
I must admit, because of the limitations of the mail tab in TF3D I find it virtually useless. It's pure eye candy. When I get a new mail notification I go to the TF3D mail tab and then use the right soft-key to get to the normal WM list of all the accounts, where I can immediately see which of my six email accounts has new mail waiting.
That TF3D mail tab promises so much but delivers so little. Even the stocks tab works more usefully than this, and that must be far less popular with the majority of users.

Email notification issues

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the Hero and Android, but loving both! A million miles better then symbian!
I'm having an issue with the email notifications, I have ditched the touch wizz interface and am using the standard one which I find a lot more user friendly, as part of the desktop I have two email accounts listed but with regards unread emails neither update in sync with the phone notificationseg the notifications say I've 6 unread mails the folder shortcut says I've got 2... is there a fix for this?
Also as an aside, is there a radio on this phone or an app I can get?
Thanks

Facebook contact as display pictures ??

Hi,
I finally got some of my friends phone contact to sync with facebook. I can see a little small picture of them in contact, but I don't seem to get the picture to display when I make a phone call. Am I missing something or can you make their facebook picture as dialing display picture by clicking on something ?
Thanks.
Mine does it, I log into facebook through my contacts and it puts all my facebook contact friends pic as the contact pic in my phone.
1) Hit people tab
2) all people
3) 3rd icon should be facebook (updates and events)
4) know tap on Me/ My Updates
Thats how I do it and it works flawlessly. GL.
It should do that automatically. Have you tried with more than one person? I'm having a similar problem, but only with one contact. Works fine for the most part.
When you go to edit contact info, press their picture in the top right and you should have the option to set as facebook picture.
maybe its a manila 2.5 issue. I will try the same thing with a 2.1 manila rom and see if it will sync properly with the display picture when dialing.
Mine is also doing the same thing. It displays the picture under favorite people and in the contact list, but when making or receiving a call it does not display the picture. Im running ark666's rom
I have the same problem with Leo rom running sense 2.5/maxmanilla
I thought I was doing something wrong. I am running art666 Rhodium AF as well.

I will report this on his thread and attach this link to the post as well. Thanks everyone.
it works fine for me, but i have a problem, that whenever a contact changes his picture the picture isn't changed on my phone....i can't find anything to update the pictures.....i tried also to remove the pic and then to add the facebook link again, but i always get the old picture...
i forgot to write that i use the original HTC WM6.5 rom
for the most part the pairing to facebook pics work fine for me, however i've found that some of my facebook friends aren't available when i search for them to link to their contact info. there are about 30 friends on my facebook that for some reason aren't available to link. i'm using the tilt 2, stock ROM. any ideas?
I also have this problem
I found out that the dialer instead of using the picture from facebook, it uses the picture that is on the winmo default contacts...
Does anyone knows a fix to display only the facebook picture instead the one that's on the winmo contacts??
well i had this trouble but i updated my rom and backed-up my contact using pimpackup. it backups the contact and sets the current (facebook) picture as outlook picture. then you reinstall the backup file which will delele all your pim and install your contact with their default pictures as outlook thus end any dialer problems you're having. you should call and see their the picture you had
Hmm, I always use PIMBackup to backup and restore the contacts, and always have the default pictures from the outlook. But what I want is that facebook pictures become the default ones...

It is built in to HTC sense. If you go to all people and then slide over to updates and events then log into your FB account
Ohh, I have the TP2. . . can I download a program that will do this?

You could try this, remember to read the whole thing first
I don't have an issue with the pictures, but stuff like birth dates. For some reason, when I sync contacts with FB, I get their birthdates and with a FB logo next to it. All well and good, except the birthdates won't pop up on my calendar, making it practically useless.
Now, if I type in their birth date manually it automatically updates the calendar.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Have a look here. It is what I use

today calendar point to windows calendar

random question......
unlike many, I actually really like windows mobile calendar, and think its a bit more functional than the htc sense one.
Is there anyway to link the today calendar to windows calendar so that it comes up, instead of defaulting to the calendar tab on sense?
Gracias in advance you clever people!
You're right, htc calendar is eye-candy but basically s***s big time.
I cannot copy/paste calendar item, cannot tap-hold delete them, nor can I move forward one week or a LOT of other things that in the "uglier" PO calendar are easy to do.
Having a calendar tab which points to plain pocket outlook would be nice, instead of sacrificing one quicklink slot that I already use for other things.
I put it in quick links, and anyway now PO calendar looks simply ugly, some interface elements are garbled (the arrows to move one week forward or backward, or missing box to "go to today"), plus opening the dropdown to select the time is hella hard with the small arrow and big fingertip... AHHH software shortcomings are oh so frustrating, and it would have required so little of an effort to make sense calendar better!
