Hi guys, I am a recent convert from iPhone 3G. Whenever Apple releases new OS update for the iPhone, it will be available for the users, how about Google's Android OS? Will the update be made available to all the Android phones?
I have a 'HTC' branded HTC magic and I notice that my phone does not have the OTA feature. How do I update my OS?
Please advise. Thanks.
You can update it manually. I think you get problems if your phone is rooted though. I personally think that the custom ROMs released here are a few steps ahead anyways
Where would I be able to download it?
from the Android page? HTC or?
I would also like to know where i get the OTA updates offline
help
by mistake i have installed different country android version on my phone
i have updated to 2.22.405.1 instead of 2.25.720.1 how can i change it i have been to every thread
it will be a great help
Does it still work? If so leave it as it is since if you downgrande it is likely yiu will brick it

It doesn't matter simply because 2.22.405 is a WWE ROM and 2.25.720 is an India ROM, and, both use English. You are not missing out on any "India Specific Features" by installing 2.22.405
If you have a rooted phone / installed the "Safe" Flash Version of 2.22.405, you can get the "Safe" Flash 2.25.720.1 from the Wildfire Development Forum. It was made by danne. If you got the one with the HBOOT intact, there is nothing you can do about it. (Except perhaps downgrade, but, as said above, it is risky and not worth it)
Exept the indian rom may be in different languages

yes it is working fine but sim card is not behaving properly
some time it says ota not supported and ur sim card is not allowed on this network i have to switch off the phone and restart it
everything else is fine
may be when other updates will come with from ruu 2.3 or else it will get update to indian one i think
anyway thanks for the reply
2.22.405 cannot be updated, since it is already the latest Froyo version for that region. Besides, the India OTA (2.25.720.1) requires 1.25.720.1 as the base, only then will it show. There probably wont ever be an official 2.3 release for the Wildfire.
Wanna sell my DHD but it currently has a CM7 build on it and I want it returned to stock with the option to still root it if necessary (make it more sellable).
Can anyone point me to a 2.2 RUU version that puts it in the still rootable version range please? It's originally UK SIM-Free model.
Failing that, how about a pre-locked HTC original 2.2 ROM that I can just flash to the rooted phone?
Thanks for any assistance.
The easiest rootable build is this one HERE - 1.32.405.6
Just download, and run.
Exactly what I was after, thanks a bunch.
I assume I need the HTC drivers installed before using this?
Yeah, just install HTC Sync before you run the RUU.

Hmmm that's really odd, just try to go to a service center there and just have it flashed manually by them or just root your phone and then flash any custom GB build (which is better IMHO than stock ones).
Maybe the OTA update are available in Indonesia only, root it and flash the latest ROM or latest build, like using Virtuous Unity or CoreDroid rom
Just flash it, it is nicer than the stock roms and you have possibilities.

Which version of 9.0.XX did you flash? I believe you have to be on 9.0.17 to be able to go to Android 10 as it has improvements to upgrade to the later versions. If you are on an earlier version of 9 it may cause that error.
Like the other guy stated. You must be on 9.0.17 to upgrade to 10.0.1.

Thanks this worked!
Pay attention that your phone will be not Google certified so Google pay will not work as well as Netflix and some other apps will not show in Google market.
