Hmmm that's really odd, just try to go to a service center there and just have it flashed manually by them or just root your phone and then flash any custom GB build (which is better IMHO than stock ones).
Maybe the OTA update are available in Indonesia only, root it and flash the latest ROM or latest build, like using Virtuous Unity or CoreDroid rom
Just flash it, it is nicer than the stock roms and you have possibilities.

I have been searching for the newest version of android along with a working bluetooth connection to my panasonic phone for months now. 1.5 works very well with my home phone, but the "htc" 2.1 leaked version ( the version that supposedly was exactly the same as the official release but with root access) didnt connect at all.
Then the unofficial froyo build came out. That ROM fixed the bluetooth connection that was broke in 2.1, but the problem with this build is, if i leave my bluetooth connection on and walk in the door, it doesnt reconnect manually to my phone. Because of this, i have to keep manually selecting the handsfree device i want it to connect too if it ever disconnects.
So now I am thinking of trying the "official" 2.1 build released by htc. I'm not sure if my results will be any better than the other roms such as fresh or damanged that are 'based' off of 2.1. I'd like to get off of this 1.5 version of android and to something newer. My concern with trying the official 2.1 rom is that I will loose my root access, correct? I can then re-root my phone afterwards?

There r two roms that r using the newest .6 version of the HTC release of 2.1. They r fresh and one other. But its out there. My rom will be using it as well but will be a day or two. All the others out in the forum are all the .5 version of the HTC version of 2.1. There r only one or two roms that r out there now that r using the leaked version anymore
so would you expect the same results within the bluetooth stack for these roms instead of me installing the official 2.1 rom from htc? or is this something developers tend to change to "enhance" the roms?

Comments around the Sprint Community forum seem to mostly say that Bluetooth is terrible in the official Sprint/HTC 2.1 release, so I don't think running the official RUU will fix your Bluetooth troubles. Here are just a couple threads from there:
http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/32489
http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/32193
Also, yes you will lose root access if you run the official RUU from the Sprint or HTC web sites. You could re-root using this method, but I think the better option would be to just flash the nfinitefx45 Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed ROM, because it is the official straight stock release that maintains root access. DamageControl's latest ROM and Fresh's latest ROM are also based from the official stock release, but they have many more changes and modifications to them so they aren't "true stock" anymore.

Nice work. I would have put up the links myself but in on my phone and its not as easy on here lol
thanks for all the help. i just tried the Sprint 2.27.651.6 STOCK Deoxed w/A2SD Update 3 rom and the device paired but did not connect. I assume I should get the same results with any rom based on this correct? So frustrating that HTC screwed this up. I hate being stuck at 1.5.

u never know try out the fresh rom its new also and has a bunch of enhancements
Am in India, so is my friend
He bought a brand new Wildfire a week before. Accidentally, he checked for System software update and it said, froyo 2.2 is available to him
But when i checked, it dnt show me nothing. What is the problem.!!!!
I already installed many customs roms and then finally came back to the square one by installing the material from Shipped Rom!!!
some light please!!!!
I haven't got an update either..its still stuck on some 1.14.720 $hit
May be people who bought this phone recently have software version above 1.14... (i.e.. 1.25.. or 1.35...) and they are getting the updates now,.
AFAIK no one with 1.14... version have received this update till now in India.
Same problem here. I am on 1.14.720.2. Got this phone from flipkart.
I had 2.1 rooted & could not install new updates. Only after 1.37.405.1 update i got Froyo 2.2 by air.

My phone is not rooted .. its on stock ROM {whatever I got when I bought it} and even then its giving me a message saying there are no updates for my phone
help
by mistake i have installed different country android version on my phone
i have updated to 2.22.405.1 instead of 2.25.720.1 how can i change it i have been to every thread
it will be a great help
Does it still work? If so leave it as it is since if you downgrande it is likely yiu will brick it
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
It doesn't matter simply because 2.22.405 is a WWE ROM and 2.25.720 is an India ROM, and, both use English. You are not missing out on any "India Specific Features" by installing 2.22.405
If you have a rooted phone / installed the "Safe" Flash Version of 2.22.405, you can get the "Safe" Flash 2.25.720.1 from the Wildfire Development Forum. It was made by danne. If you got the one with the HBOOT intact, there is nothing you can do about it. (Except perhaps downgrade, but, as said above, it is risky and not worth it)
Exept the indian rom may be in different languages

yes it is working fine but sim card is not behaving properly
some time it says ota not supported and ur sim card is not allowed on this network i have to switch off the phone and restart it
everything else is fine
may be when other updates will come with from ruu 2.3 or else it will get update to indian one i think
anyway thanks for the reply
2.22.405 cannot be updated, since it is already the latest Froyo version for that region. Besides, the India OTA (2.25.720.1) requires 1.25.720.1 as the base, only then will it show. There probably wont ever be an official 2.3 release for the Wildfire.
I just recently picked up a dell streak. It's brand new with what I'm guessing it the latest shipped rom which is build number 15274 running android version 2.2.2
All I see is custom roms and reflashing back to other roms to root....blah blah blah...is there a way to just root my current rom and not have to flash a completely new one? I'm all for supporting the community, I'd just like to keep this as device as clean as possible and remove all the bloatware.

Download SuperOneClick v1.5.5 and root away. Dont forget to put your phone into USB debugging mode before rooting, its very important that you do that. Or just follow the steps in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925853 good luck.
Wow thanks, I totally skipped over that post!!! I guess from what I was reading I was expecting the whole process to be a lot more complicated.
Thanks a ton!
Anytime.

How come Dell don't push out the 2.2.2 version OTA to their customers?
I check for updates every day, but have just once received any. (2.2)
Their way of saying; "we just don't give a f*ck about our customers"?
You should have gotten that update weeks ago. It's been OTA for probably about a month now. And I don't know how much you've read, but a lot of what happened with not updating from 1.6 was probably AT&T's fault because they wouldn't okay the build (speculated). Dell had the source up for 2.2 for a long time, if I remember correctly.
I'm on unlocked stock EU ROM since day one. Just to clarify.
Do you mean the 2.2.2 was shipped OTA, for EU users too?
Ohhh. Didn't notice you were on EU. I don't know if Dell released one for EU yet (probably hasn't since you don't have the option to OTA). Just remember that it's not just the phone maker responsible for updates, the carrier has some say in it, too. Are you still on 1.6? Because you could always try out DJ Steve's ROM if you wanted to try something different.
No, the one OTA update I received, was the 1.6 --> 2.2 on last October.
Since then - nothing. I guess it's only in America people get the 2.2.2.
Thanx for taking time to reply.
No problem, haha. I hope you get it soon
I really want the update to, I'm in the Uk and I'm still on 2.2, I would do it myself but its just to complicated and don't wanna mess up my phone. Has anyone in the Uk got the 2.2.2 upgrade? And to be honest I really wont the 2.3 upgrade, but seeing as we still don't have the 2.2.2 upgrade, I think we'll be waiting a long time :'(
2.2.2?
If someone updated from 1.6, to the "non official" 2.2, is there any difference between it and 2.2.2?
2.2.2 is supposedly immune to the malware loaded from the 50 or so infested apps that Google removed recently from the market.
Alright, so I'm quite cautious before I proceed with the update but I've been hearing mixed results with the 2.3.5 update. I pretty much have the update ready to go in the ext SD card.
I was wondering since my phone is fairly new and stock, have the problems experienced by users who updated to 2.3.5 (such as null IMEI and touch screen issues) only affected those who have rooted and are running different roms? or could it affect me if I do an update to 2.3.5?
As for null IMEI, what significant impact would it have on my phone?
I'm really keen to go on Gingerbread as there doesn't seem to be any OTA updates to 2.3.5 here in NZ...
Current Android Version: U8800 V100R001C00B136
Cheers
I have been upgrading from stock 2.2 and did not have any problems at all. All went smooth and everything is working as it should. I am using 2.3 beta 1 update, because it has unlocked bootloader, otherwise it is preety much the same as final 2.3 release.
oh, do the problems people experience persist in beta 1? or over the official one?
Like I said, I did not have any problems with it and I had stock phone just like you (no costum rom, no costum partition). I know people have reported many problems with these updates but it works for me. If someone has different experience please post it and write in what state your phone was before update ( costum rom, partition, etc...)!
when I got my brand-new phone from the store, it was 2.2 but rooted (!) and no g-apps.
The update to 2.3 was no problem and everything works fine.
no root any more, but I don´t need it anyways.

did you update to the beta builds or the 'original' build? I guess I won't have to back up if its only a rare minority experiencing these faults.

I have a U8800Pro so I can't offer you an answer as to whether you should upgrade, but all I can say is:
If your phone is rooted, use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325036 to back up your IMEI. It's worth it anyway, even if you don't plan to upgrade
From what I've read, touchscreen issues seem to be occuring for those with Atmel screens (and there's a report of an Atmel screen going bad on its own anyway), not those with Synaptics ones. This is what I've gleaned by reading U8800 threads; again, I have a U8800Pro (which all come with Synaptics screens). You can use the tool Elixir from the Market or dial #*#2846579#*#* and navigate through the menus to find out what touchscreen you have
