Why Froyo is not available for my Wildfire - Wildfire General

Am in India, so is my friend
He bought a brand new Wildfire a week before. Accidentally, he checked for System software update and it said, froyo 2.2 is available to him
But when i checked, it dnt show me nothing. What is the problem.!!!!
I already installed many customs roms and then finally came back to the square one by installing the material from Shipped Rom!!!
some light please!!!!

I haven't got an update either..its still stuck on some 1.14.720 $hit

May be people who bought this phone recently have software version above 1.14... (i.e.. 1.25.. or 1.35...) and they are getting the updates now,.
AFAIK no one with 1.14... version have received this update till now in India.

Same problem here. I am on 1.14.720.2. Got this phone from flipkart.

I had 2.1 rooted & could not install new updates. Only after 1.37.405.1 update i got Froyo 2.2 by air.

It'll prob be the 1.25.405.1 update (we're still on 1.14.xxx) If i install this would I loose root?
flash it through recovery
thanks for the info OP, i've been getting so annoyed with the phone randomly crashing and restarting. Although I think I'll do my research today and backup the original ROM and put on the 2.2 puzzle roms available. Need to root my new PS3 anyway

LG UK Eclair (2.1) available now 15/12/2010

The official LG UK website says now Eclair 2.1 is there now http://wwwstg.lg.com/uk/android/index.jsp
However if I connect my phone it says no update available. Any one else got any luck?
The website is talking about Android 2.1 update. It is not Froyo. It is Ecalir. Your phone might be alreay running on Ecalir. That is why it is saying no update available.
It's Android Eclair (2.1), not froyo (2.2)..
The update has been removed because it was full of bugs and issues. We don't know when LG will publish a new update.
Sorry corrected the title but my phone is running 1.6 and 2.1 is now available according to the website. I know it was withdrawn but this morning it changed to available again.
website is static and still informing that update is available since end of November. The upgrade application is telling you that no upgrade are available because it has been suspended. The upgrade application is the only one able to decide if upgrade is available or not.
The website said yesterday that it was temporary unavailable and changed to available this morning. If I go into the upgrade software It says that V20b is available for United Kingdom (customer support menu click supporting model) . I have V10B. It is there alright.
It just does not want to install might have something to do with that I am currently not in UK even though all setting are for UK in my phone.
Try again. I just updated my gal's phone yesterday night.

2.2.2 streak rom question

I just recently picked up a dell streak. It's brand new with what I'm guessing it the latest shipped rom which is build number 15274 running android version 2.2.2
All I see is custom roms and reflashing back to other roms to root....blah blah blah...is there a way to just root my current rom and not have to flash a completely new one? I'm all for supporting the community, I'd just like to keep this as device as clean as possible and remove all the bloatware.

Download SuperOneClick v1.5.5 and root away. Dont forget to put your phone into USB debugging mode before rooting, its very important that you do that. Or just follow the steps in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925853 good luck.
Wow thanks, I totally skipped over that post!!! I guess from what I was reading I was expecting the whole process to be a lot more complicated.
Thanks a ton!
Anytime.

How come Dell don't push out the 2.2.2 version OTA to their customers?
I check for updates every day, but have just once received any. (2.2)
Their way of saying; "we just don't give a f*ck about our customers"?
You should have gotten that update weeks ago. It's been OTA for probably about a month now. And I don't know how much you've read, but a lot of what happened with not updating from 1.6 was probably AT&T's fault because they wouldn't okay the build (speculated). Dell had the source up for 2.2 for a long time, if I remember correctly.
I'm on unlocked stock EU ROM since day one. Just to clarify.
Do you mean the 2.2.2 was shipped OTA, for EU users too?
Ohhh. Didn't notice you were on EU. I don't know if Dell released one for EU yet (probably hasn't since you don't have the option to OTA). Just remember that it's not just the phone maker responsible for updates, the carrier has some say in it, too. Are you still on 1.6? Because you could always try out DJ Steve's ROM if you wanted to try something different.
No, the one OTA update I received, was the 1.6 --> 2.2 on last October.
Since then - nothing. I guess it's only in America people get the 2.2.2.
Thanx for taking time to reply.
No problem, haha. I hope you get it soon
I really want the update to, I'm in the Uk and I'm still on 2.2, I would do it myself but its just to complicated and don't wanna mess up my phone. Has anyone in the Uk got the 2.2.2 upgrade? And to be honest I really wont the 2.3 upgrade, but seeing as we still don't have the 2.2.2 upgrade, I think we'll be waiting a long time :'(
2.2.2?
If someone updated from 1.6, to the "non official" 2.2, is there any difference between it and 2.2.2?
2.2.2 is supposedly immune to the malware loaded from the 50 or so infested apps that Google removed recently from the market.

Still haven't gotten the Gingerbread update

It's almost the end of June and I still haven't had the Gingerbread update pushed to my Droid Pro. Does anyone know if this update still has additional rollout waves? Perhaps my company has control over when the update is pushed out, once it completes its own internal security tests? Either way I'd rather not flash my phone manually as I've never found the need to root, and I'd rather do an in-place upgrade that retains all my apps/settings.
No update here either :/ I'd much rather have the official GB update than the one that requires root
Good to know I'm not the only one at least
There is no final Gingerbread for Droid Pro for now (27.06.2011)
To make the story short - there has been no final Gingerbread for Droid Pro yet. Check the thread below to read more:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1094588&page=7
The version from this thread does not require root - it's a Motorola beta version that was released to a small amount of people.
Yea ive heard it was just a test release. Only small amount of phones got updated
Thanks for the info. Not having the latest software always makes me antsy, but in this case it's okay since it's not publicly available
I got the update last night sometime. I woke up at 3am to let the dog out and saw my phone had it waiting. Half asleep i accepted the update....
I wake up later pissed because im rooted and now im stuck in limbo again (this happened once during the last update sent out). Now I have to reflash my phone back to a previous stock OS and then reaccept the new updates.. yay lol
ok so i flashed back with an earlier SBF file and updated back to where i was before the GB update. Now i go to about phone and search for update and the GB update is not showing up

Hmmm that's really odd, just try to go to a service center there and just have it flashed manually by them or just root your phone and then flash any custom GB build (which is better IMHO than stock ones).
Maybe the OTA update are available in Indonesia only, root it and flash the latest ROM or latest build, like using Virtuous Unity or CoreDroid rom
Just flash it, it is nicer than the stock roms and you have possibilities.
