urgent help - Galaxy S I9000 General

hi all
i need someone to point me the right place for a firmware with the modem and csc files. it has to be as stock as it can be, for a nordic country. i am from denmark
i have tried jpk, jpm, jpa, and its all realy buggy and slow even with all the lagfixes' and tweaks.
now i cant seem to find a stock 2.1 nordic firmware (i need danish keyboard) that is capeable of updating to the original 2.2 firmware via kies.
i hope that there is someone who can help me with a link of somekind.
best regards
paw madsen
edit:
i fund this info: i installed the old kies and did a reghack, and it is updating to JPA oficial atm... via kies

Software revision for unbranded UK SGS

Hi, Could someone with a unbranded UK SGS post their current Software revision found in the Kies Registry, eg.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XWJFB/I9000XEEJG1/I9000XXJF5/I9000XWJFB"
Thanks
I'm in the UK and running an unbranded GT-I9000HKDXEU from Amazon UK, and my software revision is:
I9000XXJM1/I9000OXAJM1/I9000XXJM1/I9000XXJM1
EDIT - and after upgrading to Froyo via Kies, it went to: I9000XXJPO/I9000OXAJPO/I9000XXJPP/I9000XXJPO
Any help?
Cheers
Drew
PS - this is in the ...DeviceDB/3 tree, not /4 (I don't have a 4) - does this matter? I'm no expert, as you may have guessed!

Can I install O2 2.2 over unbranded 2.2 JPO using kies?

I have a O2 UK branded SGS, I updated it to the unbranded 2.2 JPO using the Kies registry hack.
Now that O2 UK 2.2 is out, can I trick kies into thinking I have a old JM1 firmware and let it reinstall the branded 2.2?
Or will this cause problems?
Thanks
yes u can.
Is O2 Froyo out? Not seeing it here.

my mistake, seems like O2 is not out yet.
Just wanted to know if it is possible, so I can update to O2 firmware if it fixes battery drain and zip code bugs.
Yes it is possible, using the registry hack but placing the old JM1 values in place of the JPO ones.
Thanks for the replies

[Q] O2 Gingerbread Update From Kies

Hi, I'm currently running Froyo on my O2 Galaxy S (currently unlocked and unbranded to use on Orange) and I'd just like to know if O2 have released the Gingerbread update yet? I've googled it and apparently so, but everytime I try and update I get "The version of the device cannot be updated.".
Thanks.

Yes it has been released through kies, make sure you have the latest kies on your pc, or go to samfirmware and download it from there scroll down to provider firmwares and its I9000XWJVH and flash it with odin. I can confirm the one on samfirmware is the same one you get through kies
I assume it is O2 UK - and not O2 Ireland.
See the following thread for details of how to restore Kies functionality if you need to do that. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179508
You will need to substitute the O2 (UK) product code and PDA/CSC/MODEM/PDA strings to download your latest firmware - but the methodology should restore your Kies functionality. Try the following - I think this is the correct string for you.
CheckFusDownloader_v0.5.exe -c I9000XWJVH/I9000O2UJV3/I9000BWJV2/I9000XWJVH GT-I9000HKDO2U

[firmware][INFO]Official ORANGE RO KG2

I think that the official KG2, around the world, will be 2.3.3 . Yesterday, on a Romanian forum, user vali692001 posted this pictures:
That is not the 2.3.4 KG2, but the 2.3.3 one.
All RO carriers got it these days, including Vodafone.
Do you have the Voda version? I am interested to have it also.
I have it on the phone, yes.
Vodafone RO put it on Kies officially today.
Could you upload the firm. somewhere?

It would most certainly look so because I just checked it with fus downloader (web tool) and for ORANGE version of I9100 it yields the following (country Poland)

Latest firmware :
I9100BVKG2/I9100IDEKG2/I9100BVKG2/I9100BVKG2
will give an update when I will revert to stock to update it via Kies and get my backup bootloader
cheers
I can confirm RO Vodafone branded devices can update too. My phone is not charged though to allow the update

Pretty good update rate for Vodafone and Orange Romania. Didn't see that coming. Wonder if Vodafone UK released this update...

Kies gives me "Kies can't update this phone" - any idea why ?
Previously I've got XWKF3 and then XXKG3 then moved back to original BUKE1 ,
but Kies gives me the above error ... any idea what's wrong ?
[LE] ok I've reflashed one more time with BUKE1 and managed to update it with Kies to BUKG2
Poland Orange and Vodafone Romania KG2 firmware now available in the carrier firmware thread.
It is posibile to post only the voda modem file?
So, in the end this is still 2.3.3 ?
No 2.3.4 for us?

[Q] Omnia 7 firmware

Is there a difference between 2424.11.8.5 and 0222.11.8.5 or is it the same but different numbers because of carrier (t-mo and orange uk)?
222.11.8.5 is from orange .
mine too is 222.11.8.5 and i still wait for the firmware update to 2424.11.8.5
Can we update just this firmware with wp7 downloader.
I don't know what mean the check boxes in wp7 downloader.
If we check just "eboot", will it updated ?
thanks
my bootloader is 5.8.1.9 and i can't update the latest firmware because oit has the same bootloader (i got a error that i have the same name for firmware),
the only solution is to roll back an early version of bootloader than update the firmware manually.
but can i flash only a bootloader without hard reset the phone ?

Yes, using the WP7 Downloader and having checked only Eboot, it flashes only the bootloader without erasing your data. The flashing of the bootloader takes only a couple of seconds BUT... I tried that, flashed several bootloaders (5.8.0.8, 5.8.1.9), and when I tried to update the firmware with WP7 cab sender, I received the same error image. I didn't try flashing older bootloaders (coming from preMango roms, for example 4.12.0.9 from JL3 Rom) though, in risk of bricking the phone.
what would the best combination be if I want to get the Mango Firmware with Tethering enable when doing the Zune Update? I'm not too interested in unlocking the phone, as it seems like a lot of hassle, but I would like Tethering - if i install the UK Retail firmware will that get tethering enabled with the Mango update?

No, if you flash a Rom with UK RETAIL csc, this is an UNBRANDED device, which is NOT receiving a wifi tethering update via Zune, at least for now. In order to have Internet Sharing on those devices, you need to unlock it.
BUT I had an unbranded device, and I could force tethering update of French operator SFR, not via Zune, but using WP7 cab sender. But that branded the device to SFR-FR network (without visible sideeffects though, NO problems with data, boot images or branded search engine). I could then change that tie from SFR to T-Mobile UK, via registry edit, and I could actually receive notification via Zune for the tethering update, but that update fails every time.
It seems that the SFR update (KI3) and the TMO-GB (KI4) are almost identical, and one cannot install one over another. Hopes that is the issue with those specific updates, and not the forthcoming ones.
So your best bet is to install a Rom (either engineer or retail, practice showed that engineer roms can be updated normally) using the T-Mobile UK csc (TMO), and then update it via Zune.
OR you could install an unbranded one using the UK retail csc, update to Mango without IS, and then force the IS update using KI4 T-Mobile firmware (use that over the KI3 SFR fw, it has slightly updated bootloader and firmware, radio is the same, and I suppose it's better to be branded under a UK network)
Thanks - looking at the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131891
It seems the only available firmware with TMU is
Samsung Omnia 7 Firmware XXJJ6 ALL PROVIDERS
this is quite old - is this OK?
P.S My device is currently ORANGE UK
You can:
A. Wait till Orange UK offers IS update. As long as T-Mobile offered it, I suppose it's a matter of time that Orange follows sooner or later. If you can't wait proceed to B.
B. Flash that XXJJ6 preNoDo rom with the TMU csc (os 7008, it would be wise to unlock at this stage, as you made the hassle of going back to preNoDo). Then update normally via Zune to Mango with IS (two stage update)
C. Flash a Mango Rom, which can be found at samfirmware.com (need to create a free sign-up account). There are two roms I8700XXKH2 (with an french SFR csc) and I8700XXKH5 (with a DTM csc). Both those two carriers, french SFR and Germany T-Mobile offer update via Zune with IS. Only one update, that of the IS, as you are already on Mango. You will need to change language/locale and uninstall some carrier apps.
Also you could try flashing those roms using the TMU JJ6 csc. I have tried that in the past (not this exact combination, but different rom different csc) and I didn't face any problem. Beware though that I used preNoDo csc and preNoDo rom, so it may not apply in the case of preNoDo csc / Mango rom.
How about changing the operator in the registry would that help

Yes that would be ok, I didnt mention it though as cm-mojo specifies he doesnt have an unlocked device, so he can't use registry editor
Anyway, change the network id in the registry to TMO-GB, and then update via Zune BUT you should not have applied (via Zune or WP7 cab sender) any extra fw update other than the ''default'' Mango (KH2 or KH5). If u have forced KI2 (Voda ITA) or KI3 (SFR FRA), you cannot update to KI4 (TMO-GB, DTM)
i tried to flash using WP7 Sender, but i keep getting an error that a file exists with the same name - not sure what that means

Since what i know KI2 is H3G ITA and not VODA ITA..Am I wrong?
i have KI2 (000-88)
T-Mobile UK (among others I suppose) is pushing update of the OS to 7.10.7740.16, but my update failed :-/ If only I had never forced SFR-FR with cab sender...

Hi what about to install TMO-UK/DE update and future other operators update? Will I encounter the same problems of SFR-FR update that prevents you from installing other operatos update? Now I reflashed may Omnia7 from 7004 to mango unbranded and I don't want to fall in the same error. Do you think I must wait or ...?

Yeah, same thing here. Had TMO-DE version KH2 on my Omnia, via cab sender, too. Update to 7.10.7740.16 failed several times, finally putting my phone into restore mode, from which it was unable to recover.
Ended up reflashing my Omnia down to JJ6 again (with TMO-DE csc) and then letting Zune do it's updating. It took 5 updates and some two and a half hours, but now everything's fine again, i'm on 7.10.7740.16, firmware 2424.11.9.4
I'm shure this won't keep me from using the next unofficial solution to get the latest version some hours earlier than everybody else, but i'll keep my JJ6 rom & flashing tools warm and dry, in a safe place...
originally flashed KI4 from DE-Tmobile to get IS.. however 7740 update failed repeatedly.. mucked about a bit with Cab updates but no dice..In the end went back to XEUJL3 & then let Zune do it's thing for mango & firmware .. now on KI2 with 7740 (used a cab updater but perhaps I could've waited. Anyhow Compass works great & I think now I'll shell out the $9 to chevron to enable the IS instead of wasting another afternoon..
