Software revision for unbranded UK SGS - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi, Could someone with a unbranded UK SGS post their current Software revision found in the Kies Registry, eg.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XWJFB/I9000XEEJG1/I9000XXJF5/I9000XWJFB"
Thanks

I'm in the UK and running an unbranded GT-I9000HKDXEU from Amazon UK, and my software revision is:
I9000XXJM1/I9000OXAJM1/I9000XXJM1/I9000XXJM1
EDIT - and after upgrading to Froyo via Kies, it went to: I9000XXJPO/I9000OXAJPO/I9000XXJPP/I9000XXJPO
Any help?
Cheers
Drew
PS - this is in the ...DeviceDB/3 tree, not /4 (I don't have a 4) - does this matter? I'm no expert, as you may have guessed!

Vodafone DE updated firmware

Noticed on Vodafone DE's website they have an updated firmware download
http://www.vodafone.de/business/support_download/59345_90608.html
This is for version 1.20.162.3
I notice that my device is running 1.20.161.5
Other than (I assume) providing German language support, anyone else know what is this firmware update is worth using for a UK device ?

There's already a thread on the upgrading forum about the german voda rom:

[Q] O2 Gingerbread Update From Kies

Hi, I'm currently running Froyo on my O2 Galaxy S (currently unlocked and unbranded to use on Orange) and I'd just like to know if O2 have released the Gingerbread update yet? I've googled it and apparently so, but everytime I try and update I get "The version of the device cannot be updated.".
Thanks.

Yes it has been released through kies, make sure you have the latest kies on your pc, or go to samfirmware and download it from there scroll down to provider firmwares and its I9000XWJVH and flash it with odin. I can confirm the one on samfirmware is the same one you get through kies
I assume it is O2 UK - and not O2 Ireland.
See the following thread for details of how to restore Kies functionality if you need to do that. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179508
You will need to substitute the O2 (UK) product code and PDA/CSC/MODEM/PDA strings to download your latest firmware - but the methodology should restore your Kies functionality. Try the following - I think this is the correct string for you.
CheckFusDownloader_v0.5.exe -c I9000XWJVH/I9000O2UJV3/I9000BWJV2/I9000XWJVH GT-I9000HKDO2U

Unbranded, Three UK
I think Microsoft will roll out this for unbranded phone Much More later!!! Mayb until Tango1...
But anyways, Ive enabled dis thru Registry
The hilarious thing is, at first, make me think, Branded phone is not gud, the update will b later than the unbranded ones, but since Microsoft decided to roll out every update with carriers, (****), luk at dis Thethering Update, we unbranded phones r later!
So mayb, it's gud to use a branded phone mayb....(((
maybe somebody can catch the update and post it here???
so we can flash manually...

Yes it would be great
I find it crazy that unbranded phones don't receive this update ...
I have manually updated my operator unlocked Omnia 7 to the new firmware and am very puzzled.
I am on O2 in the UK and thought that upgrading to this new firmware would enable wifi tethering but after the update, this was not enabled.
I updated to the SFR-FR update available from mobiletechworld.com and everything was ok apart from being unable to hear any calls so downgraded back to the KH5 firmware.
My Specs are now
firmware version 2424.11.8.5
Radio 2424.11.9.1
Bootloader 5.9.1.4
Does anyone know if I am going to have to follow the guide on here to enable wifi sharing or whether wifi sharing will definitely be available to unbranded Omnia 7's via a firmware update anytime ?
Set this registry value. Then try to update your Phone. Then restore the original value.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo
MobileOperator : VOD-IT
MOName: Vodafone
OEMDeviceName: ATLANTIC_VDF_IT
Yes, please extract oem.cab from windows temp files after this tether upgrade and post it please

Got my update last night on T-Mobile UK (branded) and tethering is enabled
Firmware revision number: 2424.11.9.4
Radio software version: 2424.11.9.1
Bootloader version: 5.9.3.0
Is there a way to force the update on a unbranded Omnia 7??
no, there is no way to force the update, because tethering is for carriers only ... i also have a open samsung omnia with a 3 Austria sim - card. we have to wait i also search for a 3 austria CSC / firmware. but nothing ... i only found 3UK or 3 ireland firmwares.
Lol, I forced KI3 fw yesterday (with cab sender), only to find out that the new T-Mobile UK update updates the fw to 2424.11.9.4 (I have 2424.11.9.3) and bl to 5.9.3.0 (I have 5.9.1.4) :'-( I WANT the new OEM.cab The tragic irony is I own a T-Mobile branded device, but have unbranded it, holy sh!t when are branded devices are supposed to get all the goodies first?

[Q] Which ROM can I use to solve my firmware problems?

Hi guys
I have a Omnia 7 noBrand 16GB (from Germany) with some firmware problem (no compass, no bluetooth, no hidden wifi..), and I'm looking for a good ROM. This is my situation:
PDA: I8700XXJK1
CSSC: I8700DBTJK1 (DBT = GERMAN)
SO: 7.10.7740.68
Firmware: 2424.10.11.1
Hardware: 3.15.0.4
Radio SW: 2424.11.2.2
Radio HW: 0.0.0.800
Bootloader: 5.2.1.4
SOC: 0.36.2.0
Which ROM and CSC do you recommend for italian provider?
Can I use again the JK1 ROM for solve the problems?
Tks
You could maybe try the XXKC1 firmware since it includes Italy.
Italian user Camazza flashed it and he reported that afterwards Zune updated the phone to:-
PDA: XXKI2
Phone: XXKI1
CSC: HUIKI2
Hurray for searching the forums!
Anyway, that's similar to my phone in the UK that is fully debranded. UK and Italy share the same XX unbranded firmware.
Hope you can follow the flashing guides in the Omnia7 development section and get your phone sorted

Thank you,
but Camazza said that KC1 is a Engineer ROM, is it real? In other sites, like samfirware, report KC1 as samsung ROM..

I think it's a Samsung Engineer ROM but Camazza said it updates through Zune to a normal ROM so I don't think you have much to worry about
ok,
I have flashed my phone with KC1 ROM and ITV CSC. This is the actual situation:
PDA: XXKK2
Phone: XXKI1
CSC: ITVKC1
SO: 7.10.8107.79
fw: 2424.11.11.2
radio sw: 242411.9.1
bootloader: 5.11.1.8
All seems to be ok. The only missed features are the connection with hidden wifi, and tethering.
Thanks a lot pLUSpISTOL

Great stuff, you're welcome.
Just to double check if you have hidden WiFi or not. Go to Settings>WiFi>Advanced>Add(+) then enter the name of the hidden network. You are allowed up to 3.
To enable USB tethering follow this guide.
To enable Internet Sharing (wireless tethering) follow this guide.
You may already know these things but just thought I would post
yes, hidden wifi is there, you could add 3 networks
check also in diagnosis version that zune should have updated CSC to I8700ITVKI2

Hi DJBlaster,
I checked the CSC but after the Zune update I have the ITVKC1 versione, wich kind of difference are they?
Nice, I'm from Bologna like you
cool! Nice to meet you;
and for the question: I don't know but probably the csc contains updated settings from italian carriers, i just found it was different after updating to first mango version, if everything works but your csc is still ITVKC1, don't fix it
never mind
ciao!
p.s. for usb tethering probably you'd like better checking this post

hi, thank you for try it . can you uplad this cab- the link is not valid. It seems, this firmware are also a mango firmware (8107.79) and the most files are the same in 11.11.2 and when are the same you get this error ...
the firmwares are not compatible with each present firmware. to update the 11.9.4 you need a newer TMO-DE firmware, to update 11.11.2 you need a newer 000-88 firmware. to update to 12.12.2, you need the firmware from 000-FR before on your device .... OR but the firmware is a TANGO firmware

This is strange, i've allready updated in the past from spanish released firmwares and even french ones when i had the original rom using cab sender or zune, just by changing the mobileoperator in the registry. Reports in the past of this error on omnia 7 were related to the faulty bootloader issues of previous versions. Don't know why is happening now...

For those that want to get it from the Microsoft servers, that link already posted does work but you have to remove the spaces between the h t t p and there is also a space between e and 5 near the end of the link which needs to be removed too.

If this was deleted from the update cab would the phone complete the update?

Do you know which firmware you were on before? e.g. KK2
UPDATE:
Having tried setting my phone to 000-88 and 000-GB (from TMO-GB) I can see that this update isn't getting pushed out to UK unbranded Omnia 7s. But it does appear in Zune when I set the string to 000-FR.
Does that mean that its a localized (French) unbranded version and this is why we're getting the file collison?
UPDATE 2:
Done a bit more research using the codes here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14926415&postcount=4
The update cab is xef_i8700XXLB2 i.e.
XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
L = 2012
B = FEB
The colliding file is I8700XEFLB2.cab
XEF = ??
Cross between XE = Bulgaria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and XF = Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania ??
According to SamFit
Xef = france

Thanks.
Looks like this particular cab file is a dead end for handsets running stock ROMs that include carrier modified CSCs, as I'm guessing there is no way to send a modified cab file that removes the 8700XEFLB2.cab.pkg and prevents the file collision (as mirolg has done to secure the compatibility of this firmware with his mi7ROM).
Isn't it strange that this update includes I8700XEFLB2.cab.pkg (i.e. the CSC file), which the KK2 update did not include?
If future unbranded firmware updates from Samsung like this contain this cab package -- or are cumulative and therefore contain everything in this cab file including the package -- then it may be the end of the line for pushing cabs intended for unbranded devices onto branded phones as you were able to do in the past (e.g. I pushed the KK2 update onto my phone, which has a T-Mobile UK CSC).
Some of us may be be stuck with carrier's timeframes for pushing firmware updates from now on...in other words, won't get them unless we unbrand our devices or flash them with custom ROMs that permit re-signed cab file updates.
The reason I'm hopeful to get hold of new updates is the the possibility of them fixing the wifi/3g data timeout issue.

My current firmware. I never flash my rom on this omnia 7.
PDA: I8700XXLB2
Phone: I8700XXKI1
CSC: I8700XEFLB2
No sorry I mean what your PDA was before LB2?
I'm sorry, but i don't know....
EDIT: But this update only affect the bootloader part, doed it change the PDA rom?
I think it does, because firmware goes to 12.2.2 and bootloader up to 6.2.2.9
EDIT:
Having unbranded my phone and sent this update via the cab sender it worked fine..although I did have to set language to UK. It's looking like the wifi/data issues may be fixed (but too soon to truly tell).
