I noticed my SD card was getting quite clogged up with the all the backups ive done with titanium backup it was using 781MB so i deleted it all and backed up the apps again, everything appears to be working ok except 2 of my Gameloft HD games are again asking me to download additional data to run on my phone, seen as i don't have an unlimited data package ill have to wait until im in a free Wi-Fi area to do this, but i already downloaded this additional data twice for these 2 games so is this something to do with me deleting the Titanium Backups on my SD card or do all these HD games always require you to download additional data every so often?
Cheers
I'm having a problem restoring apps and keeping the data (high scores, etc.). I'm running CM 7 nightlies on my N1. I decided to try partitioning my SD card with a second partition (ext) to help with internal storage limitations. Both the phone storage and SD card were wiped.
After getting ext working I then started restoring apps and their data from a Titanium backup. I'm choosing "App+Data" when restoring. The apps restore fine but the data is not there. For example Angry Birds levels are not open and other games have no high scores.
Any idea why this is and how to fix it?
Thanks!
I need someone to give me a course "backing up 101" ... I have so many questions I do not know where to begin. I have muddled through rooting and things are running ok. I have even put CM7 on an SD card and it works but I do not understand about backing up:
Why do people backup individual apps when you could re-download them from market?
How do you backup "everything" (like all your apps at once and/or plus the ROM itself)?
When you backup something that is in internal memory (that's EMMC, right?) where does it back up to (my desktop? SD card? more internal memory?)
What programs (apps) do you use for backing up?
Any backing up info you would like to share would be very appreciated. Thank you.

People back up roms with clockworkmod in case you have issues or want to flash another rom and something goes wrong allowing you to revert back to the old one. That backup is stored on your nooks sd card. People back up apps with Titanium backup from the market. You can save the app plus the data (gmail for example). Those are stored on your nooks sd card as well. If you have a lot of apps, in my opinion, it is easier to restore from titanium than redownload each one. Both clockworkmod and titanium backup creates folders on the sd card and recalls them when needed. You would not have to concern yourself with doing anything but choosing to back up or choosing to restore.
I make backups of the ROM because i'm constantly messing it and sometimes it's easier to restore it then try and fix what i've goofed up.
Using Titanium Backup i do a batch backup of all my apps at once, and if i need to restore even one app from it It's saved all data.
Backup ROM -keeps Angry Birds
Backup Angry Birds - saves all my completed levels.
Hey everybody i just made my account but I'm not a total noob. like the registration video says ............as i know how to root and copy apps to sd and roms and xrecovery and all that stuff......etc.
Anyway the problem i faced is that i have my x8 rooted and all app on sd using "link2sd" and made a backup with xrecovery too then i decided to buy a new 8gb sd card but after i partitioned it and copied all my stuff when i restore my backup my apps doesn't show
so please any one tell me how to copy the whole things from my old sd card to my new one to have the phone just the same but with larger space in sd ?????
thanks for anyone who helped or even tried to.
put in your old sd card, so you will have all apps installed, backup them with titanium backup, then make a partition on your new card, put it in the phone, restore apps with titanium, move them to sd card witk link2sd
i hope that this will help you
Use Clockworkmod-Recovery.
It also backs up your sd-ext and the.android_secure folder.
every thing is screwed up when when i used that CWM recovery it could not restore the backup on the new sd card so i went back to the old one but it restores with no apps appearing in menu they are installed but corrupted or something .....after that i went back to xrecovery with hope BUT no .......the same thing happened restores with no apps appearing so i'm kind of desperate and probably will reinstall each and every app. losing all progress in them and all info so any last suggestions plz.......
AND thnx for anyone helped or didn't

I am used to restore my apps with titanium backup after flashing new rom.
After restoring, I will move all my user apps to internal storage with the function "Move user apps to Internal memory".
Here I have to give sebastiaan15 a huge thanks for his rom "Runnymede 5.3", it's truly amazing!!!!
Let's go down to business. Because sebastiaan15's rom is really too smooth, I was thinking what will happen if I move some apps to SD card with original method?
Yap, my desire crashed. Because I moved apps with function "Move user apps to the SD card" in titanium backup and I forgot that there is some phone only apps.
Actually, I didn't know that function too much. That was the reason why I troubled myself.
Afterward I searched this issue on google. I saw much people had same problem as me and the only answer was reflashing the rom.
I've reflashed my desire without a newer backup. The last backup is few weeks ago. Sadly, my data of angry birds three stars has gone.
Here is what I want to tell you guys....
DO NOT USE TITANIUM TO MOVE APPS TO SD CARD!!!
No offense, but titanium works fine if you use it corrrectly. I have to say, I think this is user error.
But if you're using a rom with a2sd+ you shouldn't be moving anything to SD card anyway.. Because then you are splitting apps accros /data, /SDCARD and /SD-EXT which is just WRONG!

Yes, it's my bad.
Curiosity killed the cat XD
Without a doubt, titanium is the best backup software, that's why I'm still using it.
I just want to tell you guys my tragedy and I think this function is not really often be used, especially we are using a2sd+.
Thanks for your explanation of why we shouldn't move anything to sd if we are using a2sd+, have a nice day
I no longer use an ext partition for a2sd+ and have used titanium to move user apps many times with no problems.
Even with a2sd+ it should work, but its not recommended as mentioned above.
Some advise, when you are playing games and made heavy progress like your 3 stars on all levels of angry birds, if your using titanium you should back up app + data then copy your titanium folder to you PC.
Back when I was a flash-o-holic I’d make heavy progress on a game while using one rom and then I’d change my ROM and lose my data until I discovered that TB actually backs up your progress.
So now when I set a high score or beat a certain level back up app + data then you can flash and reflash and you wont lose the data.
Also if your flashing frequently I also suggest S-OFF and use the CM7R2 HBOOT and AmaRullz AD2SDX script loads of space with no need to move apps anywhere
Of course, you have to be carefully when you are using titanium backup I use titanium backup for longer time and I have never had any problem. All my apps are in internal memory and I haven't got not enought free space. As you may know you can set autobackup of your apps and system settings for every day

Hmm you really shouldn't be telling everyone not to use titanium to move apps to sd card because you made an error. It want the app's fault. I use titanium to move apps all the time and no problems whatsoever.
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
In order to move all apps to / from SD I use App2SD, which is all you need.
Blaming Titanium for a usage error is not fair, though. Titanium is a very powerful tool. Sometimes, those powerful tools can be used to do something "not so good".

Titanium back up..... i am not use this app because i am confused !!
How is it confusing?
