Hi,
Can you set the language to "Danish" ?
How is the feel/ build quality ?
How is it in the menus - fast/acceptable/slow
Thanks!

Sound Quality
How is the sound quality for music over headphones?
Does it have the dolby SRS enhancements?
Thanks in advance!
Ash

The only thing I really want to ask is battery life, but you won't be able to give me a detailed answer on that before I get my own

As for the hinge - in the HTC shop there was a Desire Z to show for customers and when I was playing with the hinge I was little bit afraid ... it was just too free. Fortunatly when I unboxed by device the hinge was pretty good. The build quality looks very good for me. However I am afraid that hinges will get overused by time and i will have to take it for warranty repair. This is just my opinion and may not happend. Summary: first expresions was afraidness but after now I am satisfied with it.
I come from TP2 where the keyboard is definitly better. On Desire Z its little bit smaller and there are function keys on the sides - I mean on TP2 I had 'p' and 'q' at the side of the keyboard ... here is 'tab' and 'backspace' on the side... but this is just matter of habit.
As for the hinge - when you turn the device upside down - it opens by gravity. This was afaik already discussed about G2. It is not issue i guess ... and actually i dont find it annoying at all.
As you could probably see on youtube videos the frame of the phone is metal and the back cover of batery is metal. The rest is plastic - very same as on the classic desire.

I am from czech republic and I cannot change language to Danish. This will be probably country specific. I have there: czech, english, magyar, polski, romania, slovak and some azbuka written language which i dont have any clue what is

Actually they are super fast... I have installed only like 10 apps so menu is not full of apps but the device is incredibly responsible. This is probably due to new generation of procesor used in the opposite of the old on in Desire (even Z is 800mhz and classic Desire is 1ghz). What supprised me was that I held today even HTC Desire HD and i had feeling that Z is smoother... but who know what was with that HD

Cant say yet :-/ I have it first day ... now i am recharging it to the full battery. I use my phone heavily and TP2 lasted one day with problems. When I didnt have time to play with phone (twitter, web browsing etc) and i was only calling it lasted 2 days. I will report my experience with Z asap.

I dont know anything about dolby SRS ... if you could tell me how to try it I would.
I've just plugged in my KOSS Porta Pro and the quallity sounds well... Or lets say its not catastrophic Depends how much audiofil are you I still think that it depends more on headphones you listen. Atm I am playing pink floyd high hopes and I hear there all details i know so I guess the quality of playback is ok. In the comparison with qualite repro I feel here how my porta are overbassed. I will investigate equalizer in new days

Check the NAM version thread:
Bell has released the NAM version D-Z today too

I wanted to ask you about the hinge, again: if you don't slide out the keyboard (so the keyboard is "closed") and you turn the phone upside-down, will the keyboard still open by itself? In the videos posted above I can see what is happening when the keyboard is already open, but I wonder if it happens the same when the keyboard is "closed".
I fear the keyboard would open by itself in my pocket and I could break it, if I wear some loose clothes. Also, flipping the phone to mute the ringtone seems silly if the keyboard is opening like that.

I wouldnt be afraid to have it in my pocket. Yes it opens itself but only by some little force - for example gravity. Actually to let it open by the gravity you have to hold it by the bottom side of the phone and not holding the second one. Since they are rather thin its not so easy. I am used to hold my phone by way it doesnt close when i type.

Thanks for the answer! Maybe it looks worse than it is. I hope to find it in the stores in one or two weeks, and I'll try it myself.
If you find more interesting stuff about it (good or bad), please post. When you have some time, maybe you could upload some pictures and video from the camera.

I just got a Bell one and the hinge is a little slippery but (as mentioned) it only slides on mine if I hold it upside-down by the base, or at a bizzare side-ways angle that's un-natural.
Be prepared for the slide though, as you will have it if you get the phone. Great phone though.

the desire z has LED Notification??
i think the desire may have led notification unlike the t-mobile g2... if you watch the video you can see the red blinking LED due to low battery. can anyone else confirm this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ0iH_hHchg

Don't know about notifications, but my g2 has the same led notification when it is done charging or charging. My g2 has never had less than half the battery remaining, so no clue on that. I hope the g2 lits up that led when a missed call/text pops up, that would be a sweet upgrade.

yes, there is LED diod undead the speaker grid. It is blinking not only when battery is low but also when you recharge (red for recharging/green for fully recharged) or when you have missed call. It doesnt blink for email i think ... i will notice today hopefuly.

Is the emmc/ nand locked down like in tmo g2?
Ie no perma-root/ custom roms?
I have a tmo g2 which I could gladly sell/ trade for the desire z provided the dz could be perma rooted...

Def the HD2. Better processor, no stylus needed and harder screen, not to mention HUGE SCREEN and just downright sexy.

what do you mean by harder screen? is the touch sensitivity better than the tp2?
TP2 is resistive, meaning that you have to apply pressure on the screen. The HD2 is capacitive which means that it responds to heat/infrared signatures, so you don't have to press on the screen to use it.
Since it doesn't require pressure, the screen can be made of harder material (like glass). The HD2's screen is fairly thick and makes the entire phone seem stiffer with a higher-quality build.
I prefer the HD2 over the TP2. I was in your very same position. The only thing I sacrificed was a hardware keyboard, but the HD2's screen size makes typing fairly easy once you get used to it.

hawc1506, how is it turning out for you right now? is it running smoothly or are you experiencing problems?
I have both at home and I choose HD2. But only because of screen size – I often watch movies in subway.
TP2:
HW keyboard is much more faster to write, don’t have to check for misspelled words.
Dual microphone (noise background canceling)
Stereo speakers
Can record calls as mp3
Resistive screen – big plus (there is no way how to comfortably use windows without stylus)
HD2
Big screen
No noise canceling option
You have to always check for misspelled words
Cant record calls !!
Very poor speaker !
Capacitive screen – very easy to break, no stylus possible – im missing stylus all the time
Faster processor and bigger RAM/ROM - big plus

makind, there is a tweak that enables this on the HD2, but is wma only. If that's adequate for you, I'll see if I can dig it up (I think it was a manual regedit, not a cab)
I loved my TP2, I've been using WM for over 7 years now and the HD2 is the first device I have had with a capacitive screen. I loved using a stylus. After getting the HD2 I tried a the capacitive stylus from Pogo. I eventually stopped using it and I've gotten really used to just using my finger especially with Swype. I'm loving it, HD2 all the way.Its faster, more memory, the screen is gorgeous and the camera is amazing!! Flash too which the TP2 doesn't have.

You know, it was a little buggy for the first couple days but then once it got going it was smooth as a Bentley.
...until I installed the T-mobile update.
But if you go with a custom ROM, you will likely have no trouble at all. I highly recommend the phone.

I don't think there is any way to record calls with the HD2. You can record your voice, and recording programs may pick up the other person softly if you have the speaker loud enough.... but it's only picking up the sound from the speaker. It doesn't record calls like other phones can.

have you flashed yiour phone with a custom rom?
Great thread, since I am having the same issue. One of my main concerns is whether the HD2 will work well with some of my old apps. The main ones I want to use are Listpro, Pocket Informant, and Phatnotes. I assume that PI shouldn't be an issue without a stylus, but how about the other ones. Would appreciate your thoughts.

No, I had the Tmous stock rom 2.10.1 and then I upgraded to 2.13. The upgrade screwed up my screen sensitivity so bad, I downgraded back to the stock 2.10.0 (no stock bootloader on 2.10.1).
So I've made "unofficial" rom flashes, but I haven't used a custom ROM yet. I don't even have HSPL.

i traded my TP2 for the HD2 and i kinda regret it because my HD2 crashes a lot and my TP2 never did that but who knows it might get better soon
If you can live without a keyboard, then hd2 all the way. MUCH faster. Installs apps a lot quicker. Great screen. So used to using a stylus so i really miss that but i am getting used to not using it. If your cool with no keyboard, by all means.. get the HD2! You won't regret it!

Day with a Droid X

Well Hi All. Madhouse here. A buddy of mine who is a firefighter is also a part time Verizon employee, he was gracious enough to let me carry a droid X demo for the day here. It's currently 12:37 pm here and i will have access to the phone for a few more hours here. I made a few videos and took some pictures, i will try my best to answer any requests made in this thread while i have the phone. A few basic principals apply. Obviously i will not be demoing any rooting or hacking type activities on the phone because it is not mine.
Look forward to the questions! Enjoy!
(Will be editing and putting links to the videos in a minute here)
This is a test sample of the droid x's video capability in 720p

I'll check into the launcher thing for you and the screen is AMAZINGLY accurate, i'll have a video of the multitouch vis app test up in a minute. It makes the Evo (My phone) look terrible as far as touch responsiveness.
how loud does the "loud" speaker sound compared to other smartphones? Also do you feel that the dual leds are very bright? Do the hard buttons on the front feel like they are good quality?

So you can't install Launcher Pro from the market?! I don't care about the default one, just need to know I can replace it with something else from the market.
This is what should happen (in case you don't know):
->Install Launcher Pro
->Hit home
->A box should come up asking what launcher you want to use (if you get to here it works).

Does this necessarily mean Launcher Pro is running instead of Moto's default? Or can it be on top of the original (i.e. wasting mem/cpu, running both)?
The choice it gives on pressing the home screen is just that it recognizes there are 2 registered apps that handle launcher requests, right? It doesn't necessarily kill one for the other, does it?
Only had Android for a few weeks, so sorry if silly question.

X10 is Good ... can an X20 be Great?

I've been going through so many posts about the good an bad features of the X10 I thought maybe we should have a thread where we could actually agree on something?
If SE were to release a future device based on the X10, say the X20 what should they change?
I would say:
Give up a little sexy and go for a 1800-1900mAh battery.
USB connection on the bottom (docking station would be nice to use)
4.3 inch AMOLED screen (may help the battery issue right off the bat)
Front facing camera
Better battery cover (not sure how many times this one would come off before breaking one of those tiny tabs)
Android 2.2 at very least
Better colors .. Deep Red or Steel Blue. Yup, Pretty Pink for you ladies.
How could I forget, In-Call volume
i think x10 actually got the space to hold a bigger battery.
maybe SE just doesn't want to develope a new battery and simply give BTS-41 which is used on x1
the xperia x10 is a good device if you know how to use it. So far many of the problems have been fixed with third party add ons except for multi touch and the in call volume.
If the X10 2 does comes to Canada am going to my Rogers store and gonna ask for a discount.

You guys forgot the most important thing...access to the bootloader .
Also, I've seen some aftermarket batteries for sale for the X10, I don't know if anyone here's tried them though...? I know there was an 1800mAh battery that is the same dimensions as the current 1500mAh one, and there was a 3600(?) mAh battery that needed a special case so it could fit.

The way I see it is that 1.6 is a great platform to learn from and work on. The x10 suffers from software flaws.. pretty much nobody will critisize the hardware capabilities of it. The x20 doesn't even have to be released, just an x10 with better software and way less bundled stuff like mox

And yeh Rogers is an ass but lets see, they did it for the G1 users so who knows
I would have:
- a back microphone (like the Nexus One) for background noise cancellation
- a Sony Ericsson original table stand (like the Aino)
- no cover over the USB connector
- USB connector not on the top of the device
- optical zoom
- a real flash
What I really don't miss:
- multitouch
- front camera

I thought that TB backed up "everything" ?

My thoughts on the Arc and why im going to sell it (read if your thinking of buying!)

Hi all,
Now im generally not a fan of people posting 'hate' threads, but this phone has dissapointed me so much that i feel it necessary to point out why i turned to hate it and why im selling it and getting the Galaxy SII in order to help people that are thinking of buying this phone to make an advised decision.
1. It constantly lags, and almost every app force closes (and YES i have reset the phone and used both .181 and .145 versions of the firmware.
2. When the phone starts syncing accounts in the background it renders it unusable. The phone takes up to 5 minutes to load the Facebook app and longer for anything else.
3. Sony Ericsson's stupid decision to reverse the ground and mic wires so you cant use any other wired headphones with an inline control but the ones it came with. As discussed in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045973&page=1
4. The camera takes too long to open.
5. The USB socket is on the side at the top so you have to have a landscape dock which takes up more room (obviously only applies to people that use a dock with their phones).
6. The USB/Power lead that comes with it is angled up instead of down which i find just gets in the way.
7. The headphone jack is on the side (ok this is not a major issue but is annoying when getting it in and out of your pocket when you have headphones in.
8. The headphones that come with it only have a play/pause button and no volume or any way to change tracks. (i hear theres an app that can change what the button does but it really should be there to start with!)
9. I bought a sim locked version which at the moment means i cant root or install custom roms.
10. The Sony Ericsson UI is awful and downright ugly (again you can always install a different launcher, but thats money for an app that you shouldnt need in my opinion and it just covers the home screens, as soon as you enter the Settings, Dialler or Contacts your right back in the SEUI).
11. Recording in 720p is super laggy and jolts all the time making it useless.
I will go on to say though that the camera is the best phone camera i have ever used by far! Stunning photos everytime. And the same goes for the built in speaker.
UPDATE!!
Ok so i thought i should update this post in case anyone was still undecided on which device to buy. I have since sold my Arc and bought an S2 and WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!.
The S2 solves all the little problems i had with the Arc (the headset wiring is the right way round, the headphone jack is on the top of the device, the micro USB is at the bottom PERFECT)
PLUS it solves the big problems i had. The S2 is lightning fast, fast like you wouldnt believe! Everything opens instantaneously including the camera which literately takes just a second to open and be ready to shoot.
Speaking of the camera the built in features are better (panorama up to 8 pictures, cartoon mode and beauty shot, as well as all the stuff the Arc has) and it films in 1080p!!! The quality is superb you just would not believe it was recorded on a phone!!! Oh AND you can use digital zoom at the highest quality setting by pinching the screen! Cool feature the Arc doesnt have at all let alone with a cool multi touch gesture!
I have had the phone running for about 3 days now and used it heavily (games, video, intensive browsing with heavy flash sites usually for 2 hours at a time) and not once have i needed to force close stuff with a task killer or restart the phone, the S2 just keeps on going with whatever you do to it. I have never known a phone capable of such use!
With my Arc i would of had to have run a task killer after EVERY task in order for it to be responsive enough to do something else at a reasonable speed. For example with the Arc if i watched a few flash videos in the browser and then pressed the home button, the Home Screen would be unresponsive for a couple of seconds and all the app shortcuts would have missing 'transparent' icons. After a few seconds the icons would come back and i would need to run a task killer to be able to do anything else or it would take up to 5mins even to load the FB app!
With the S2 i can just keep using it, task after task and it never slows down even a tiny bit, everything continues to be buttery smooth and instantaneous even after using several intensive apps!
The S2 never laggs at any time even when using a live wallpaper, its always buttery smooth and just as responsive. The Arc used to lag a bit when using a live wallpaper.
The S2 boots up in less than 15-20 seconds!!! The Arc took nearly a whole minute! Nothing so far has force closed and everything has opened almost instantaneously! The build quality is so much better, much sturdier and no wobbly buttons made of cheep plastic. Everything on the S2 is rock solid and built to a really high standard!
There are little bonus's with the phone too, the ROM and UI is much better designed. Theres a CM7 style settings widget in the notification tray, the music player looks and works brilliantly and includes a widget in the notification tray when its in use for album art and music controlls. Theres a 2MP front facing camera the Arc didnt have one at all and the battery seems to last longer. Theres loads of built in gestures, like pinching the screen in the browser when zoomed out brings up the tabbed windows screen, holding 2 fingers on the screen and then tilting the phone forward or back zooms in or out on photos and in the browser, holding an icon or a widget then tilting the phone left or right moves across the home screens and turning the phone upside down when you get a call silences the ring! Watch them here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxCW7U2m8dk
Theres also a wealth of handy built in apps from Samsung including a photo and video editor!, unlike the usual useless rubbish manufacturers put on phones plus even more handy stuff like built in screen capture by pressing 'home' and 'power' buttons together and it has that nice 'bump' effect the same as the iphone when you get to the top or bottom of a page or menu. Personally i find Touch Whiz 4.0 much better than the Arc launcher however i am using Launcher Pro (i had to buy i to replace the Arc's homescreen so i might as well get my moneys worth haha, plus i really like it)
All in all, reading peoples comments, i might agree that i had a faulty unit but even so, the S2 is miles ahead in my opinion. It just eats any task you give it with no hassel. Its never rebooted itself. It never laggs and has so many more built in features. The Super AmoLED screen is just breathtaking, the picture quality and colour depth must be seen to be believed!
Each is to their own, and im sure all the owners here love the Arc, but in my own opinion, especially if your a heavy user... GET THE S2!
P.S. For LiveView owners, disconnections are far and few between with the S2! With the Arc i would have to reconnect the LiveView every 1 or 2 hours whereas with the S2 i can sometimes go a whole day without needing to reconnect!

Hi all,
Now im generally not a fan of people posting 'hate' threads, but this phone has dissapointed me so much that i feel it necessary to point out why i turned to hate it and why im selling it and getting the Galaxy SII in order to help people that are thinking of buying this phone to make an advised decision.

I am not sure what world you are talking about, but want to comment on your points..
1. It constantly lags, and almost every app force closes (and YES i have reset the phone and used both .181 and .145 versions of the firmware.

Really??? I have more than 100 apps installed from Market & not a single app force closes & there is no lag. There are a lot of videos on youtube of ARC running smoothly with loads of apps, without lag or force close. Every review statets that & even it runs almost as sommth & fast as GalaxyS2 (Youtube Videos)
2. When the phone starts syncing accounts in the background it renders it unusable. The phone takes up to 5 minutes to load the Facebook app and longer for anything else.

I just can't believe that. 4 Arc in my house, and not a single has a similar problem. My phone runs normalls when it syncing..
3. Sony Ericsson's stupid decision to reverse the ground and mic wires so you cant use any other wired headphones with an inline control but the ones it came with. As discussed in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045973&page=1

I have never used a mobile where a camera opens as fast as it does on ARC..

i dont expect anything to be bug free, but after using several S2's to me it seems a lot less buggy than my Arc, again perhaps mine is faulty, but none the less for me personally i prefer the Samsung UI and features (built in gestures, settings on the notifications tray like in CM7 and all the little things that the Arc seems to be missing)
I do admit that my misses Arc keeps force closing and randomly rebooting but she still loves it I prefer the I9000 as u can see....can do more with it in regards to CM7....it works wonders on the I9000 but I'm not so sure about the Arc due its complexity of inner workings I.e bravia engine etc and the galaxy s 2 is pretty much the same as the I9000 just a faster processor and more ram...everything else is the same lol....personal preference....I9000

I have to agree with the video recording...BUT, when you play it back on another device/player the jittery lag is non existent. good luck with your new phone anyway.
Hmmmmm... I have been tossing up between the Arc and the S2 for several days now. I know the S2 is higher spec'ed but after reading reviews about the arc I decided that for my needs, the arc would be fine. After reading this though I just don't know...
The only one of those issues that is real is the headphone wiring one.. Everything else is either personal preference or faulty unit.

So the force close thing is a faulty unit? With a new baby on the way this is going to be the last phone I'll be able to buy for a while so I want to make sure I make the right choice. I'm upgrading from a Samsung Captivate so if the force close thing is a faulty unit, then everything else is going to be alot better than I currently have?
Of course it's a faulty unit.
Or some **** software installed.
Normally Arc is super snappy.

IMO you have a duff phone or dodgy apps installed. If youve reset and it's still doing it it sounds like hardware so you should take it back for an exchange. Seriously, my arc is rock solid and it *flies*.

Couldnt disagree more, i think it's a million miles better than anything samsung or htc have produced. But horses for courses innit. As for 3rd party launchers - the ability to change launchers is one of the joys of android, and plenty of good ones are FREE.
The dialer is pretty crap though (i recommend dialer2 from the market).

AFAIK this has been fixed in the recent firmware, probably related to your hardware problem in 1.
Cant really comment on your headphone issues, but they sound like reasonable things to have a problem with. Personally i think you have a faulty handset so i'd take it back if i were you. If the headphone issues and UI style are a dealbreaker i guess then the arc just isnt for you, but if not try again with working handset - dont dismiss the phone as being laggy/buggy because you got a duff one.
The Arc isn't really a bad phone....if your having problems with FCs etc then as Davey said it probably a dodgy app or a hardware fault. The only thing I don't like about it is the bootup time....it takes forever lol other than that its really snappy

However i havent even touched the supplied headphones, so cant comment on those either way.

[Vent] Sound levels

Hoooolllly cr*p. The volume in the X10 is totally unacceptable! I had an appointment today I was waiting for a very long time and I set up 3 reminders/alarms. They went off. but I heard not a single one! Appointment missed, pushed back another month.
What is the point of an alarm function that you can't even hear!
All my volumes are set to max. I can't hear text messages going thru, I can't hear notifications going thru. My ears are fine, the phone whispers. God it's driving me nuts.
I've never had this problem with any other phone, could hear those things a mile away. Am rrreally starting to lose faith in something I can't rely on.

I second this. Sexy shell, but lousy internals.
Dunno what to say.
Mine is set to below halfway and it wakes me up just fine. Sure it's not the loudest phone I've ever had but it's more than acceptable (even without xLoud for most things).
BTW, did the snooze function work? I mean, if 3 alarms were set and if they kept on going, then they keep on coming back on every 10 minutes (default unless changed).
Maybe your loudspeaker is busted? Did you ever try any of the roms with xLoud?
Have mine set up with xloud and latest dsp manager app, combined, my phone now has the same volume as my friends galaxy s2, just about. However the speakers will die soon at that rate I expect. But my contract is up in 4 months so I dont care if I kill it!

You must either be a heavy sleeper, you're going deaf, or you have a defective phone.
I have my alarm go off on workdays at a bit over half volume and I can hear it no problem.
Seriously, all this X10 bashing is incredibly old.
Another question.
Was it an alarm or a calendar reminder that you were using? The reminder function for the calendar just uses the SMS tone.
xLoud is your friend. Huge difference with it opposed to without, just use some common sense though.

"bad gsm radio" !!!!!!!!!!!! You must be crazy.....SE has the best gsm radio in the these companies....or did you forgot that whos making the gsm radio and antenna is Ericsson itself....btw...ericsson is the best in the bisness.....plus did you forget that the x10 is a 2009 phone....its old...dont compare it to today's phones.....also the sound is just fine...i hear my phone ringing from miles away.........god damn.

with all due respect, I still don't get why people **** so much about the speakers.
Maybe I've been lucky, I don't know, but I don't have any issue with the sound.
Granted, you need to put an appropriate ringtone... you won't here anything if you put a ringtone of rainfall
That said, If I had to complain of a similar functionality on the X10, it would be the phone's vibration, which I feel is very week compared to my old SE W810i.
I'v gone over three X10i (hugh...thank god for Orange France's insurance) and all have been exactly the same for me. No sound issue, but ****ty vibration compared to my old phone.
Just a thought guys and gals but it also depends on your ring tone. IMHO i find most of the standard ones a bit dull, but i found somefree mp3's and midi's online and the other morning when my alarm went off i nearly hit the ceiling! even woke up the girl
Pvy.
Here is my alarm tone. give it a go see if it helps

Personally phone speaker volume, vibration, hardware...I find spectacular. Phone speaker is exceptionally loud without dsp manager or xloud or any other programs. Vibration intensity seems to be fine for me. Hardware...I don't understand what is wrong with it...perfectly good to me...and GSM and WIFI work perfectly...always have H signal RARELY I have to use 3G I mean RARELY...maybe like for 2 minutes in a month. Always have phone signal...btw I have ATT. ONLY issue for me is SONY not providing proper phone SOFTWARE. GB update was a tad disappointing from their kernel, 16 mil, fps uncap, and everything else... was not a well done job.
OK...the IN-CALL VOLUME is something that bothers me; the only hardware related gripe. It is extremely quiet...barely can hear person on other side...when in average loud environment. BUT I suspect that with DSP Manager installed the IN-CALL VOLUME could be louder.
I am using "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" for ringtone/alarm.
I am using "Altair" for notification.
Your phone might have an issue. OR you...haha; deep sleeper.
Anyone know what the best option is, dsp manager or xloud?
The main thing I need is call volume clarity. I tried some versions of DSPManager.apk but they didn't seem to make a difference... Tips?

Aaah, the w810... probably my most favorite phone that i've owned. That phone had one hell of a speaker for its size.
I don't mind the vibration of the X10i. Yeah, it's a tiny-little-bit weak but it's good (really good IMHO) and really comes down to preference. I like how varied the vibration can be (mild, medium, high). I came from an N85 and that had only 1 setting: seizure. That thing would vibrate like nuts at anything. On a scale of 1-10, it was at '11' all the time. LOL
I find the speakers to be satisfyingly loud enough with xLoud. I use the Beep-Beep-Beep sound for alarm. never fails to wake me up.
Vibrations on large phones like this are hard as it's absorbed by the phone's weight itself but i find it rather pleasant to have than annoyingly skidding over the table.

I am running both, but if you just want one take the dsp, gives you an equalizer to adjust for clarity of sound. Yesterday someone posted a brilliant version of dsp in wolfs 2.3.3 thread. The apk is in a rar file so just use root explorer to install it
The sound is noticeably improved

Turn on 3G in a location with low signal and charge it, now browse online and watch the battery heat.
Don't cheat by putting the phone in LN2 first. try it in a nice 27*C summer ambient heat.
And tell me it's awesome. you can cook food on it. and the battery goes dead in 1 hour from there on, you can cook some meat by then and make some coffee on it.
Then once the power circuits have completely nuked you can use it as a paper weight.
people using xloud should be careful.....
mark my word, people are going to start blowing their speakers. You can hear it cracking/getting damaged.
