[Q] Help with ubuntu on froyo 2.2 using vnc - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I am kinda bouncing between a froyo 2.2 stock build and HTC desire rom on my HTC hd2. Know I just resently heard some good news bout Ubuntu on hd2 so I wanted to download it and check it out BUT THE DL LINKS ARE DEAD. So I stubled across this thread bout running Ubuntu in a virtual box called android vnc. Finally the question I have is can I still successfully do this installation even tho I don't have a rooted phone.( Meaning nexusone froyo as default os )also I found this information bout Ubuntu on nesuxonehacks.net. dry so long just want to make sure I'm understood.

[Q] new poster - HTC HD2 --> who is running android 2.2??

hi guys,
sorry if this is a stupid question, only just found this forum today.
I've seen the HTC desire HD running the new android 2.2 and it looks pretty cool. I've also seen this running on the HTC HD2 on you tube.
My question - who is running android 2.2 on their HD2? Is it stable and worth running? where can I find out how to do this (i.e. like a guide for dummies like me!)
cheers

hi,
There's a section dedicated to Android on the HD2.
Check on the "HD2 Android developpement" forum, everything is explained .

yes goto the android on HD2 section of this forum. it explains it all. you will need to flash a custom rom and depending on the android build a particular radio.
im running the Froyostone V3.1 on a cooked rom. its built from the android HTC Desire build and it works fine for me.
OK proceed with caution!!!
Do not brick your device, do alot of reading first before entering or doing anything to your phone. The first step you will have to do is Hard SPL your device and then for Android to run, you will need to change your Radio, for android to run, you do not need to install a custom rom like many believe.

[Q] Help with Ubuntu

I just need some information about ubuntu, I went to the Ubuntu forum and all the download links were dead. So does know where I can download Ubuntu for the HTC HD2? Some help would be greatly appreciated. Also I posted a thread about running Android in a virtualbox like app called Android Vnc, I didn't get no reply so I guess I was not understandable. All the information is own nexusonehacks.net just search Ubuntu it the first thread. The question bout that if anybody knows is, Can I complete the installation if I don't have a HTC evo or nexusone. Cause I have a HTC Hd2 running android (htc desire rom) and I understand the phones jaws to be rooted for you can use the bootloader for android. Plz give me some opinions or info cause I'm clueless right now.
The torrent sites work. Or they did as of yesterday.

[Q] HD2 on T-Mobile

Hello xda community I bought the HTC hd7 the day it came out and I've always been a HTC fan boy. So I decided I want a hd2 to run Android and just Android. I had a Samsung galaxy S captivate and want to know if it'll run stable like it was on that phone. Is it possible to run a rooted Android 2.2 w/ htc sense rom without wm on my phone? Thanks any help will be appreciated.
I can understand asking a question, but you honestly have to know that a guide for this already exists...search is your friend. Here's the link anyway though:

or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767513
And as of right now...no you can't get rid of windows mobile yet, but you can dual boot running android from the SD card...explained in the above linked post(s)

I would go for OZDROID Rom for the windows build and MDJ Froyo HD 4.3 for the Droid build. (Radio 2.14.50)
Nice and smooth + Battery life is ok'ish.

[Q] sdk custom roms in ubutnu

excuse me if this has already been asked but i did a search and could not find anything on this forum again a apologize a head of time for it.
I'm looking to see if i can load a custom rom using sdk so i can start working on a rom for my phone since no one is really working on my phone at this point and i am tired of say promised updates from cricket for my phone i pretty much gave up on cricket and sanyo on the promised update and i know of a rom on the same phone on sprint with a 2.1 version.. but im stuck in a old 1.6 android so im putting on the thinking cap and going to try some stuff on my system before i start messing things up on the android phone. so step one for me is to get a good set of instructions for ubuntu sdk eclipse i found some for windows and mac but not for ubuntu all i find is how to install sdk not anything with custom roms. thank you for reading and hopefully i can get started on my project.
