hi guys,
sorry if this is a stupid question, only just found this forum today.
I've seen the HTC desire HD running the new android 2.2 and it looks pretty cool. I've also seen this running on the HTC HD2 on you tube.
My question - who is running android 2.2 on their HD2? Is it stable and worth running? where can I find out how to do this (i.e. like a guide for dummies like me!)
cheers

hi,
There's a section dedicated to Android on the HD2.
Check on the "HD2 Android developpement" forum, everything is explained .

yes goto the android on HD2 section of this forum. it explains it all. you will need to flash a custom rom and depending on the android build a particular radio.
im running the Froyostone V3.1 on a cooked rom. its built from the android HTC Desire build and it works fine for me.
OK proceed with caution!!!
Do not brick your device, do alot of reading first before entering or doing anything to your phone. The first step you will have to do is Hard SPL your device and then for Android to run, you will need to change your Radio, for android to run, you do not need to install a custom rom like many believe.

No not at this stage. I can recommend Miri's ROMs for android compatibility but havn't tried many others but there is currently no way to run Android on our HD2s without first booting into WM.
There are also a few ROM builds (see the HD2 android development thread) that have a lot cut out of them for faster operation/boot and there's also the option of using one of the developed Android loaders (boots WM then Android for you).
Not possible right now. The devs are working on a NAND version which will make it possible, but it's not available yet.
Highly recommend Energy's Titanium rom, its very lightweight and is perfect if you reboot your phone and want to get back to android fast.
I use ChuckyDroidROM as Winmo build (very low on all recourses), and put shubCRAFT 1.5 or mattc Froyo 1.7 on top of it.
Using the little boot app in the ROM it runs great now
Almost dont notice its a layer
Its cool to have 2 OS on 1 phone, why not?
Question seems to be answered. Thread closed.
As th question says... i like the stock ROM of my htc hd2 but i also want to have android on my phone... can i use android in that stock ROM.. or is there any ROM that is alike to the Stock ROM 3.14?
THanks!
Just try it. And for the love of god stop posting threads in here. It's the DEVELOPMENT forum.
Sorry it wont happend again.. im just a beginner "non-principal english speaker"
so i get confused in some parts
I would also like to know if there is a good android build that can run on the stock tmo rom.
...as I told you...yeah, you can run just about any distro with some sort of success on the 3.14 stock ROM...please use the search function as this question has been asked many times.
Hello xda community I bought the HTC hd7 the day it came out and I've always been a HTC fan boy. So I decided I want a hd2 to run Android and just Android. I had a Samsung galaxy S captivate and want to know if it'll run stable like it was on that phone. Is it possible to run a rooted Android 2.2 w/ htc sense rom without wm on my phone? Thanks any help will be appreciated.
I can understand asking a question, but you honestly have to know that a guide for this already exists...search is your friend. Here's the link anyway though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732380
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767513
And as of right now...no you can't get rid of windows mobile yet, but you can dual boot running android from the SD card...explained in the above linked post(s)
I have just loaded an Android ROM onto my HTC HD2 and its working really well. Thanks for all the info on this site. Now my friend who has a HTC HD Mini has asked me to android it aswell. Can i follow the same procedure i used for my HD2 or do i have to use an alternative method. Many thanks
Look here How to Install Android
Note: Its in development stage. Not ready for daily use!
Is it so hard to read a sticky topic??
Hello guys,
I'm planning to buy HTC HD2 Mobile from my friend, it comes with Windows 6.5. I will buy it only if I can Install install Android in it. I know it can be installed with Android (I have seen some Youtube videos).

I'm very much interested to install
MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) for HTC HD2
So where do I get this MOD to download (The latest version) ?
Please also provide the Install Instructions
P.S : And also suggest me any best and stable Android ROMS
Please search around and read the forums before posting here. This was one of the most asked questions and there are countless tutorials to load Android on the HD2. And regarding your question, every HD2 is able to run android on nand, android on sd, WP7 and WM. You just have to ensure it has the right HSPL and Radio before doing so. As for MDJ's android build you requested, it has been quite some time since the latest version has been released. Its not safe to say he has left the HD2 scene, but his kernels, gps, etc are still used by current builds. And he was the pioneering developer to bring Gingerbread to HD2 and making many developments in CM7 for the HD2 as well. The original thread for the build you mentioned is closed. But his work has been carried forward and what you see in the NAND&SD forums is partly due to him. So im sure you will be equally home with the other great builds out there.
Recommending the best and stable builds maybe a bit hard. It depends on what you want in your build. I presume you are looking for a NAND CM7 build, since you asked for MDJ's CyanogenMod 7. I used to try many builds when i got my HD2 a year ago. So ive 'settled down' now and have narrowed down to a few builds:
For CM7:
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026), (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951), (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199917) & (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209474)
There are other CM7 builds in the forums, but the only reason ive not listed them here is because ive not tried them. So you should try the NAND builds you prefer and then decide. Inevitably, there will be a slower and more buggy ROMs, but most of the builds should not have major bugs since development has come a long way now. There also good sense builds out there, but there only a few, so there should be no problem in spotting and trying them. Hope this helps.

1. Read the countless guides/watch countless video tutorials on how to do this.
2. The ROM you have requested is insanely out of date, (when I joined the thread had already been closed, I was searching for it for ages) try a newer one e.g Hyperdroid or Typhoon CM7.
3. Nobody can recommend the best or most stable ROM. What works for one person may not work for another, it's a matter of taste. One easy way to see what you really like is to just try them out. As long as you stick to the guides, you won't risk damaging your phone.
In future please read the forums and use the search tool before posting.
