Hello xda community I bought the HTC hd7 the day it came out and I've always been a HTC fan boy. So I decided I want a hd2 to run Android and just Android. I had a Samsung galaxy S captivate and want to know if it'll run stable like it was on that phone. Is it possible to run a rooted Android 2.2 w/ htc sense rom without wm on my phone? Thanks any help will be appreciated.
I can understand asking a question, but you honestly have to know that a guide for this already exists...search is your friend. Here's the link anyway though:

or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767513
And as of right now...no you can't get rid of windows mobile yet, but you can dual boot running android from the SD card...explained in the above linked post(s)

i have been looking for a android setup for the HD2 and have found it for most of the other phones from HTC but not for the HD2, does anyone know where i can find the rom and how to install it or is there not one out there yet.
PLEASE HELP
If you bothered to search you would know from the 5 other new threads posted daily that Android is not on the HD2 and wont be for a while. So if want Android get a different phone.
There is no Android ROM for the HD2 yet.
hi guys,
sorry if this is a stupid question, only just found this forum today.
I've seen the HTC desire HD running the new android 2.2 and it looks pretty cool. I've also seen this running on the HTC HD2 on you tube.
My question - who is running android 2.2 on their HD2? Is it stable and worth running? where can I find out how to do this (i.e. like a guide for dummies like me!)
cheers

hi,
There's a section dedicated to Android on the HD2.
Check on the "HD2 Android developpement" forum, everything is explained .

yes goto the android on HD2 section of this forum. it explains it all. you will need to flash a custom rom and depending on the android build a particular radio.
im running the Froyostone V3.1 on a cooked rom. its built from the android HTC Desire build and it works fine for me.
OK proceed with caution!!!
Do not brick your device, do alot of reading first before entering or doing anything to your phone. The first step you will have to do is Hard SPL your device and then for Android to run, you will need to change your Radio, for android to run, you do not need to install a custom rom like many believe.
im new on this forum, well i was wondering witch android is better, the linux or froyo? i just got my hd2 from tmobile and i want to make it a android phone. also can any one help me out on what i need to do to install android on my hd2???

If you take a look into the Android lot of your questions will be solved by reading the sticky thread.
Important: Fore be able to run Android you need at least a Radio version 2.08.50.05!!!!
Your question about witch version is a little bit misplaced. there is nothing like bad ore good.
All depends on your needs/wishes. Take a look on release date to have the latest one!
Hey guys.
I finally left the iOS world and traded an iPhone 3G for a HTC HD2 .
It's jailbroken and unlocked, but I still use it on T-Mobile. The seller told me he flashed a custom Froyo 2.2 ROM to the device. And..there are 1000 installed apps.
My question is how I can update it, or flash any kind of custom Android ROM made for the HD2 to it..without losing the apps?
I'm a complete newbie at Android (Like I said, left the iOS world after two years)..so please be as simple as you can.
1000 apps, yikes!

Its going to be tough to update without losing your apps, your best bet is doing a nandroid backup (check the HD2 Android Nand subsection). The sticky in there is great, it really helped me out when I first got my HD2. Imo I would say that you should install Hyper-droid CM7. It is the fastest rom I've ever used and its stable as all hell. I wouldnt worry about losing the apps, they can always be downloaded again.
Hi guys, I'm pretty much a newbie to this all and was wondering if anyone could help me get my HD2 back to its original settings of being on WM6.5.
I recently upgraded it to 2.2 by NAND ( no idea what that means) but I was successful on getting it up and running on android.
Im now trying to be more adventurous and see if I can boot the rom to 4.4 but just for safe measures, I'd like to know how I can get the system back. Also if anyone can post the links of what Id need to download to get it to 4.4 and how I need to do that from 2.2 would be great. I don't know if I could just upload another android version on top of the 2.2 or if I would have to remove that first.
Thank you in advance

In future search before posting. To flash a higher version of Android (although 4.4 doesn't exist yet and probably never will) check out the guide in my sig. To flash a stock ROM just download one from the HTC website and flash the RUU in the bootloader.
I tried looking for previous posts that would hep, but this stuff is completely going over my head and I am still determined to get my HTC on an upgraded android version. What android version would you recommend? anything more up-to-date than 2.2 would be great (with everything working, I have read posts where some people have had problems with the camera not working)
I have had a look on the HTC website and they no longer support HD2 :-/ How can I restore it? *confused* I'm a complete newbie and a noob, yup both, but I will not be giving up
Further guidance would be great.
I think a JB ROM would be good if you want functionality and the latest version. If you want stability then 2.3 is probably best. The only real solution is to try a few ROMs out and see what you like best.
