how can I do a hard reset to htc hd2 chinese clone T8585?
the phone keeps boots itself and I can't get to windows (6.5) screen.
thanx!
mooki
if its the same as the hd2, then it's pressing volume up and down at the same time while resetting the device.
what do you mean restart?
a soft reset?
or power on the cellphone?
if you mean powering on the cell then it's not working
by holding the VOL - and VOL +
nothing happens that way and I guess it's because this is a clone
and not a real HTC phone. any ideas?

Didn't you got a Manual of your device??
Normally it's explain there!!!
Users here are owner of HTC HD2 (official one!!! No Clone) Things are not the same!!
don't you think I looked over the manual?
it's not explained there and I thought someone
here knows how to do it.
Just for the record, the HTC Touch HD2 T8585 is not a clone, that is the model number that the HD2 is sold under in Taiwan. The attached pic is a translated version of the HTC HD2 that Taiwan Mobile sells.
but how you hard reset it?

Next time you have a question you could first check the HTC HD2 wiki or use the search function. In this case you could have found out that the T8585 is not a clone, and how to hard reset it. Also, when others do your work for you, it would be nice if you thanked them.
before you judge me of things I did not do you can ask me

did you look for this issue on the forum before you post your question?
answer: yes I did!

If you still can not reset the device by following the procedures described above, then it would appear your unit is defective. In this case, I suggest you contact the seller, and demand a replacement.
Edit: After looking at their specs on the website, it does not appear to be a real HD2. Is your screen size 4.3 inches or 3.5 that the website shows? If it is 3.5 inches it is a fake, then you should demand your money back. Even the CPU specs are not right for the HTC Hd2 T8585. Unless the website has the wrong specs, this would really appear to be a case of fraud.

Like I mentioned before sir, almost all users are HTC HD2 users here!
You have a clone; it's not the same device, not the same way of functioning.
So I'm afraid it will not be easy to help you out.

hard reset for hd2 clone bootloader??
Big Hello dear forum members.
If someone can help regarding the Chinese HTC HD2 (leo t-8585 +). In fact, I bought the above mobile phone, and I have a problem with poor signal quality, poor call voice. Many people told me that I need to put a new version of the radio. For me it is 1.07.10061. Now I wonder how it can do, how to find the bootloader on my mobile, how to put HSPL and whether it will be a solution for better sound quality and signal networks.
Other features:
ROM Version: K102_CHS_S00_V0.0.6
ROM Date: 6/30/2010
Radio Version: 1.07.10061
Protocol Version: DV3.0
Model No.: NEXPERIA SY.SOL 5209
Platform: Pocket PC
IMEI: 355037010040775
Thank you in advance

Hi all,
I appreciate any help here as i'm relatively new to this.
I have a hermes with the sprint rom update and that's it. I was recently trying to update to a different rom and I keep running into the same error. I don't know what my bootloader version is, and the ok power and reset button doesn't bring me into that mode. my camera button does, and I also don't see any of the spl information that's asked to be picked. However I just do the force, and it almost works and It brings up the screen where it actually should start loading...however here comes the problem. it keeps telling me that theres a usb connection problem.. I have several chords and tried them all and nothing seems to work. I checked other forums for this problem and found none..although I am horrible at looking. any help would be much appreciated. thanks!
Did you HOLD the three buttons (ok, power and reset button) in until the phone reset?
I'd say to try the sd card method but 1st you need to install Hard SPL to make sure you CAN FIX it if something goes wrong then upgrade your rom. If you haven't flashed any other rom before I'd bet my bottom dollar you have a "dangerous" SPL to try flashing with.
Try the three buttons again like I said then, if your SPL isn't 2.10 olipro (yeah, right), read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
It will provide you with the right tools to start flashing.
Cheers....
thanks for the help. however the ok button still isn't doing it. is this common? I can only assume the mode where the three color bars displayed on the screen is the boot loader. and I see nothing about olipro. I hold the ok power and reset button and it boots upp like a regular soft reset. but with power camer and rese, then its colored screen. I'm not sure if this makes any difference...

Hey guys,
I think there are some issues with the recent clones not hard resetting. I was a very happy jade clone owner until it happened to me as well. My phone stopped booting and I wanted to hard reset but it wouldn't let me. It seems I'm not the only one either;
http://www.dealextreme.com/forums/Forums.dx/Forum.25045~threadid.439141
http://www.dealextreme.com/forums/Forums.dx/Forum.25045~threadid.464585
I suspect the [green + red + on button] never worked for my clone in the first place and this one has a different button combination but I never tested it before running into issues. We know there's a few different versions of the phone. Mine has the following specifics;
- Unlike other phones, when starting up, mine shows the words "smart mobility" before showing the windows boot logo.
- The phone says that it has a QUALCOMM 7225 @ 528mhz processor (this could perhaps be spoofed in windows to make it look more like a real jade?)
- Mine had a menu option called "GPS Setting" in the settings menu while some other people don't (may be pre-installed software, something to do with A-gps)
At least two things that could be done (maybe more?);
1. Would someone with a working phone similar to mine (especially if it says "smart mobility" at boot) to test the [green + red + on button] hard reset method? Someone else will have to tell you if you can cancel out of hard resetting after testing because I have never been successful.
2. Perhaps someone with Chinese knowledge could look on the chinese forums like 999ppc.com if they have something to say about it. Or maybe ask the Chinese sellers. Most webshops seem to be resellers and know nothing about the product.
Just when I started falling in love with my phone, she dies a horrible death. Oh what tragedy I would appreciate any input you guys might have. Thanks a lot guys.
Interesting info
Guys, I found some interesting information;
Holding green + OK and then pressing power brings up the "calibrating" screen.
Holding red + OK and then pressing power brings up the "downloading" screen.
Does anyone else have this too?
In both modes you can connect the phone to USB and Windows will try to recognize the phone but fails. I highly suspect they are both meant for sending data from PC to the phone and vice versa because the phone turns off as soon as you disconnect the cable. Anyone know what these modes do? Can this perhaps be useful for recovery?
Also, wasn't holding green + OK and then pressing power supposed to be the way to install a new Windows Mobile rom? It seems more and more likely that this phone has a different hard reset command but I haven't found it yet...
This is my first PPC so I would really appreciate any input you guys have on this. Thanks.
Solution found
After a LOT of trying out different button combinations, I finally found it. I was convinced that the button combinations on this phone were simply different and they were!
To hard reset the phone to manufacturer settings:
volume down key (on side of phone) + RED key + power button
You will see a menu where you have to press the up-key (not the volume up key but the up key on the directional pad) to confirm. Next it will look like the phone is starting up and hanging as usual, but just WAIT. Do NOT pull out the battery or anything. It is working. After a short while the phone will turn itself off. Now press the red reset button next to the battery and it will start!
BONUS:
You can install a different Windows Mobile rom with the following key combination:
volume down key (on side of phone) + GREEN key + power button
You have to have the rom (SMART.UPR) on your SD card (non-SDHC, fat16 formatted). I did NOT try this but it should be relatively safe as you can always do a hard reset if you screw up. Since these phones are different, the normal roms *might* not work, but I suspect they will. Personally I don't care for WM6.5 so I'm not gonna try it.
Glacius0,
Thanks for the info. I believe I've the same version phone as you do, got mine for a week now - only setup phone, wifi, weather so far.
I see the same features you've listed, i.e "smart mobility" at start up, QUALCOMM 7225 @ 528mhz processor? and "GPS Setting" in system settings.
So that's the reason the various hard-reset button combos in manual and DX forum don't work. Your button combo worked on my 2nd try. By the way this is providing the same result as the "clean boot" routine in system settings for me.
Unfortunately both methods of hard-reset are not removing the pre-installed touchflo version V1. I'm getting errors installing version 2.0 over version 1. I guess V1 was burned/flashed-in with Win6.1 in the ROM? I think my next step is flashing it with a clean Win6.1 in order to proceed.
After a hard reset it will automatically start installing a bunch of software like opera 9.5 and what not. Maybe you can cancel this by pressing the red button or the X in the corner and then it won't install touchflo. Personally I use SPB mobile shell so I didn't run into any problems. Installing a fresh WM6.1 oughta work though. Let me know how it went.
mine work when i press green button + red button + power
but it show an screen saying

1-Update logo
2-Update OS
3-Update Eboot
4-Format User Space
5-Return
i tried every option in the menu
i put the smart.upr in the SD fat16 but it doesn't work

I have the same Qualcomm 7225, initial logo is Smart Mobility and then HTC (or maybe HTC comes before Smart Mobility), clone bought from DX.
Have not tried any flashing yet.
Oh no, after I installed an app, my phone is now stucked at the HTC logo (after the Smart Mobility logo and the little music played).
I have the Qualcomm 7225 version frm DX.
I remove battery and reset, but the phone stucks at the HTC logo (after the music).
Doing ALL the reset keys combination in this thread did not reset the phone (whether the phone is on or off before the combination is pressed and hold down).
Can somebody please let me know what else should I tried to reset/reflash this phone ?
Hey Sintoo,
I just saw your thread on Dealextreme as well. Your phone does seem a little different because I don't get a sound or HTC logo when booting up. Interesting that "volume UP + volume DOWN + power" does something for you. I would never have thought of trying that. It doesn't seem to be the combination to hard reset your phone though. It does however show that there's some functionality to be found if you get the right button combination, so I suggest you try a lot of them. I'll give you a few pointers (the phone should be off btw, but I think you know that by now):
1. It seems that almost all button combinations involve 2 buttons + the power button. So try this first. Later you could try more buttons but it's not likely that this is necessary.
2. The 4-point directional pad (around the center button) doesn't seem to be used too often but sometimes it is, so try that too after trying the other buttons.
3. Some phones also involve the red reset button inside the phone, but I don't think it applies to this one because all it seems to do is cut the power from the battery. You might wanna try it as a last resort.
4. You could write down a scheme on which you mark all the button combinations you can try. This sounds excessive but I had the same problem as you and I almost forgot to use the volume buttons because I was just trying random stuff.
Your next best bet is figuring out how the updating menu that you found works but I think that's gonna be a lot tougher to figure out. It seems like you either got the wrong rom file or the wrong file name. Try placing a dummy SMART.UPR file and see if it does anything different. Also there's a program called TouchRUU which supposedly let's you update your phone through USB in some cases but I've never gotten it to work. Good luck and make sure to report back here for future users with similar issues!
PS: Don't worry too much because dealextreme has a good return-policy, so even if you can't fix it I'm sure they'll take the phone back and replace it for you. I've been buying from them for years.
..
Thanks Glacius0.
I will keep trying.
Hard reset
Hi, I am trying to make a hard reset but nothing happend.
Only, pressing LOW VOL + POWER + Red button (inside) produce a white screen and the USB loader.
But for now I need a simple HARD RESET . With my AXIM X51V the same buttons is SD ROM loader. Hard Reset is only Power and Reset buttons, but don't work wuth the Jade Clone T3232.

Hello!
I'm running the HTC original rom 1.48.407.1 - everything worked fine so far until I've put in a different sim card from an alternative mobile provider.
Since then there is the following behaviour:
Leo hangs at the white screen showing HTC in green letters and the following in red:
R 2.05. 51. 05~~2
G 15.28.50. 07U
D 1.48.71294
The device does not boot even if I put in my original sim or if I entirely remove the sim and microSD card.
In an act of desperation I've put with a pen into the 'void' hole at the back - nothing changed - thought it would be the soft reset button. Did I break warranty now?
What can I do right now? Do I have to send the device to the service?
Thanks for your reply!
hi!
sorry to hear that...
next step would be to perform a hard reset. search the forum for how it's done!
after that everything should be fine (except that the device is resetted!), if not,
then perhaps you'll have to bring your hd2 to a service-centre...
and, sorry, it was not very smart to damage the "void" seal. it's there to indicate
if the device has been in contact with water! eventually your warranty is lost, but
no one except htc can tell you that...
best regards & luck
markus
Hello Markus!
Thanks for your fast reply!
Performed a hard reset using following keys:
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons,
then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it. You will then see a message on the screen.
2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Device started - thanks for the hint!
Concerning the "void" seal: I just looked up the manual and didn't find anything about a soft reset button and a description of the void seal.
It sounds important to me to have a working water contact sensor. Do you think HTC can fix the sensor, the device is 2 weeks old.
Finally, and after a lot of web search and tries, i could discover how to make a hard reset of this chinese clon of the pharos.
it was hard for me, cause im newbie, so if someone else needs to hard reset his phone, here is the anser!
1.- enter the "Calibrating..." screen by turning the device on with the call key (green) pressed, u will see a white screen with an image of a screwdriver and a key and the "calibrating..." letters, here u can release the keys.
2.- then press both red and green keys, and without releasing, press the back "reset" button. then release the reset button, and next release the other 2 buttons.
in this step nothing seems to happen, thats why its hard to find this is the right way to hard reset this chinese device.
and thats all, your phone starts normally as the first time!
u also can do a hard reset from the windows settings, but this time my windows hanged up when loading
i also discovered that turning this device ON with the end call key (red) pressed, it enters in a white screen with an icon of a hdd with a green arrow facing down to the hdd with the "downloading..." letters under it.
i think this could be the bootloader for this device, but i dont know how to go beyond this point.
the pc cant install its drivers when i plug the usb (and in normal mode it syncs well with the ActiveSync).
maybe i should put the rom files in the SD card, but i dont know where (in wich folder) or wich files...
SO if someone knows how to flash one of this devices, please tell!!
hope someone find this util, and sorry for explaining it sooo long, english is not my mother talk, so if someone wanna translate this (and explain it shorter) feel free to do it!
Hard Reset
hello!
I also have a problem with this phone clon HTC P3470. I installed HTCHome 2.1 and since then it is restarting or freezing before I can do anything. And even with yours instructions I can't do hard reset. I think that I am doing something wrong and I beg you if you can provide me a pictures where to push, because I can't make it.
Thank you!
RE: pictures
thats the same i tryed to install, and as the htc intructions to hard reset it didnt work for that phone i thougt it was lost.
i think maybe different manufacturers build this phone, so maybe yours have a different key combination to hard reset it.
did you reach any of the "downloaing..." or "calibrating..." screens? or you didnt reach that screens neither?
i will post some pics as soon as possible to help you, but in the meantime, you can search and try different key combinations for different phones, it didnt work for me, but trying and trying i discovered this one.
i found a page with a list of the most common combinations for different phone brands and model, but i dont remember its address, just google it, maybe that helps you!
Thank you for your help!
Unfortunately I didn't get any any of the "downloading..." or "calibrating..." screens. When do I need to do hard reset - phone is off or must be on (windows are loading, after that it freezes and restarts).
"1.- enter the "Calibrating..." screen by turning the device on with the call key (green) pressed, u will see a white screen with an image of a screwdriver and a key and the "calibrating..." letters, here u can release the keys." I can't turn on my device with call key, only with power key. And (sorry) but I didn't find reset button, thats why I would like see pictures.
I will try more combos.
Thank you for now!

I dont understand this need for "reboot software" whats so hard about holding the power off button for a few seconds then hitting the power off button that appears on screen, then pressing the power button again once the phone is off?
If your phone is so fubar that you have to resort to pulling off the battery cover and poking the reset button, then a piece of software to reboot it likely wont be of any use.
I do remember trying out such software long ago on my MDA, and it always seemed the software just instantly rebooted, rather than doing a graceful shutdown. What are the chances of file system corruption by repeatedly doing instant reboots rather than graceful shutdowns? especially dealing with the larger file storage spaces we have now

Ive not had any issues with mine either, other than the well documented SMS bug that starts slowing the phone down around 200sms messages or so.
Hopefully there will be a fix from HTC for that, in the meantime i just use PIMBackup weekly to backup all my SMS messages, and have created a "blank" message backup file that i use to restore over the message DB wiping out all the SMS.
For normal usage the phone has been great, ive only had to reset a few times after screwing around with some more advanced settings, nothing that would have been a problem for sometime just normally using the phone.
I've only poked my reset button under the battery cover once, mainly to see that it worked lol, basically the day i got the phone, going over all the functions of the phone to make sure everything worked.
