More specific please.
When/how are you dragging files to SD card. are you in WinMo and you in Android. IS this from your PC to SD or while in one of the OSs?
How old is this Skinny EVO?
Did you ask in the Skinny EVO thread?

run HARET not in the android folder?

Dear all the rooting professors of mine ^^,
I have try many time, as if I run my android n windows mobile on the same SD card, the android system will try to make a lot of folder which make the card become messy can not organized, so when ever runnung the win mo again, very difficult to seek for so file on SD card, so, is there any method can make that solve?
I think of some possible solution,
1. make a partition for my SD card, then run the android from storage card n windows mobile files on storage card 2 but that make my android always restart , seems not stable.....
2. try to put android folder inside another folder i.e. sdcard\ABC\android to let the android make up floder stay inside the ABC, but android didnt run...
I cant think of any solution anymore, and i have surf around XDA but cant figure out how can it work .... hope all the lovely guys here can help ^^
cheers

You have to change the startup file to reflect the extra folder that you put the android folder in in order for it to boot.
do you mean if I have sd card\ABC\android for the HARET,
then I need to change the startup.txt ?
sorry to be annoying, but may I know how can I change the txt ??
thanks x 1000000000
just copy and paste the whole android folder to your sd cards root, no any folder.... go to file explorer open up android folder look for CLRCAD. click on it and nothing is gonna happen but dont worry this is normal, make sure your keypad lights are on and run haret and let the magic work,,, oh make sure you turn automatic backlight of and kill all tasks in WIN MO settings before doing all this.... good luck .... >

sorry matutemhn, maybe u got some misunderstanding on what I mean, actually I can run android on my HD2, however, I want it to be inside another folder , i.e. sd card\ABC\android\HARET.exe , then the files create by android system will not on the root of SD card and mess up my card ....will be more organize^^
cheers
"rel_path=ABC/Android"
i think that would be the way you have to change the startup text for it to work the way you want it,,,,.,... ;0

Your SD card is going to pick up the pictures and ringtones no matter what folder you put them in.
i think that will be the right way if im not wrong, but i was checking my sd card just now and dont see any windows files on root of sd, all i have is android stuff..... wander where all the WINMO stuff is being stored,,,, anyone can tell me...?

Well considering Windows runs off the system and Android runs off the SD card, that should give you your answer.
BTW @rose5hill We all now have a Q&A forum so that would be the place to ask questions like this or they will delete or move your post.

hahahaha... that was a dumb question, yes all files like music, pictures, ringtones will always be shared between both of the OS's no matter what folder you place them on and apps over winmo are installed inside of device's memory,,... right...?

So is there no way to keep winmo from reading all of the (thumbnails.) example when i slide over to the pictures tab in winmo it says i have hundreds of pictures. All of the album art and any other little pictures android decides to save.
i know, just came out,,,......... wasnt thinking bout it...>> :?

theres a new forum Q&A we can take all this kinda questions there,,,
ya. thats what i said//// reason why i said i was asking dumb question,,,, lol
I dont mind to see the android file from WM file manager, what I want is , the android-created-file will not show on the root of SD card, thus the SD card root will not be too messy .... will be more organized ^^

Right but you do have the option of installing on your SD card but you will not see the apps scattered all over the place from Windows apps being installed on the SD.

Sadly, I haven't found a way yet. The thumbnails get very annoying to flip through and trying to find a song in the middle of hundreds of ringtones is even worse.

Im sure a MOD will move it for you when they have time.
I try to put the rel_path=ABC/Android under the startup.txt ....but it stay at the HTC logo after press HARET.exe..... it seems not working or I am wrong in some part ?

Not to be a smart a$$ but why say the easiest to install. You install SD card builds the exact same way. You just download the build exstractcthe files from the zip file to a folder if it does not create a folder and then copy the folder to the root of your SD card. Then open the folder with File Explorer on your HD2 and open the folder you copied to your SD card and touch on CLCAD first then touch on HARET. Not really hard at all.

I think he means because on some builds, like the DHD or the MIUI you actually have to edit the config file to reflect how you're booting (haret, magldr sd, nand) and sometimes you have edit the startup.txt. You might also have to change the gps location and once the build is loaded modify some settings.
The above mentioned CM7 build you just load clcrd then haret like you said, the only thing being if you want the stock 240 resolution you have to replace one folder in the root folder

[Q] Can I have more than one SD Build?

Hi, I have just setup dualboot of wp7 and americanandroid sd through magdlr, loving it, but would like to have even more choice, i.e. have more sd builds on my sd card, so can switch between say americanandroid and deshd build. Is that possible? Please advise...
Can I have more than 1 android folder on root of my sd card, e.g. Android1 for americanandroid and Android2 for deshd build, then boot into magdlr, and manually change the android folder under services to the one i want to boot...would that work?
I don't think MAGLDR has such an option built in. If you were using winmo then you could run different android builds off one sd card, but MAGLDR cannot.
Yes it would, you just need to edit the config.txt and change the rel path I think it is, as long as the folders are obviously named differently shouldn't be a problem, been ages since I even touched an SD build!

which config.txt file should i change? where can i find them in sd builds?
lol i know everyone uses nand builds nowadays, but been flashing and reflashing every single day, at least with sd, i can have wp7, cyanogenmod, deshd, and miui all in one, so no more flashing daily or rather hourly lol

Um let me try think lol.
I think in the folder usually called 'Android' it'll be in there. If you open that there will be a line saying something like rel_path=Android
If you change the folder to say Android1 and make the subsequent change to that in the config.txt it will then know to load all relevant info from that folder. If I was at my pc I'd happily try for you but currently in the local beer garden. Have a go and if no luck I'll look into it tomorrow evening for you after work and pm you all the necessary instructions.
On some buids, it's startup.txt instead of config.txt

Dual OS's one SD

Hi guys
One question, i have a 16GB micro SD. Is it possible to run 2 different SD Android Builds on one sd, without having issues.
I am currently testing two, but would like both on the 1 SD.
I have read somewhere that you must just rename the "Android" folder, when you run the other version?
Thanks!
Ya just rename the second OS a different name other than "Android" and when your in Magldr you just point to that folder instead of Android

no android boot

hi that is my problem.
i can't boot android
for 2 month had worked correctly then 3 days ago stop...
i don't want format because i don't want lose same sms.
there is a mode for restart android without format?
i click on haret or android, and appear the window android boot but the nothing...
sorry for english i m from italy, and thanks who help me,or also try
absolutely you need to format, or if not... which class, Brand, Spaces.
1.Copy from the micro SD card to PC "data.ext2" in a folder, give folder name "Backup" or whatever you want...
2.Format SD card
3.Copy new Android files to the root of SD card (as when doing a new installation)
4.Replace "data.ext2" with "data.ext2" from folder Backup
5.Eject SIM card
6.Run Haret
can you see the SDcard in the file explorer of WM?
sometimes I can't see the card in the file explorer.
if that is the case, just plug the card out and put it back, then you should be able to boot android.
@¨K¨ : can you see the SDcard in the file explorer?
@ furious84: i click on haret
i think he see otherwise how he can click on Haret?

@ 15MA1L: can't you see your SDcard in your file explorer on your mini?
I have a shortcut in WM and I can click on it even if there is no SDcard plugged in (of course there is no reaction after), maybe furious84 has a similar shortcut?

you're right! stupid me
well guys thank-you for answering.
yes i can see sd from wm,other program installed on it are working.
if i backup the ext,i backup all of android?i mean sms, settings ecc...?
ps yes i have shortcut on the home, but o tryed from home, and also directly from sd but result was same
uhm...well i think i did something of stupid before read yours suggest...
i moved some files from device to pc(haret,system,data,fsck0000,and folder data in folder android),and then erase that files on device.
then i start new haret, without sim,and stat ok,but how a new installation, without old home ecc ecc.
so i pluged device with pc,and i copyed files, into device, but one for time,i mean copy one and boot copy another and boot, searching to have old things...but nothing....then...i lost all?
another question,i see there is a new release,of android, with froyo.it s that stable?which are good and bad?can have some pics of that?
sorry guys for long post, and thanks.
There is more than one version of android for hd mini. All are still in dev-stage.
I am using this one (google code release) and it works nice for me. Seems to be near to "ready for all day use"
