Every time I take a picture, it says "processing" for a second or two.
Is this normal?

you have to turn flash auto or on and check your mode is automatic.
when you open the app you see right corner some settings. you can adjust there.
i had the same problem and solved like this. hope helps you too.

I had the same issue when I played with a display unit at an AT&T store.
Team Union ROM LT4 v7, LT3 Modem, Speedmod k5-5, Carrier: AT&T (US)
I do not have mine yet, but I did read elsewhere that you need to shut off the 'low light' and / or 'image stabilisation' (may be the same thing?) settings to speed it up. I have seen demos where the photo is almost instant, and you can take photos almost as fast as you can tap the screen.

I have the same problem. the shutter sound is here, even in vibrate or silent modus.
Thx for your help
In automatic mode with flash auto, the GN3 tries to take the best picture.
In low light environement, flash is not used and GN3 takes time to take the best shot hence the lag.
In bright daylight, with the same configuration, there's no lag.
1. On my rooted N900 there is no shutter sound when sound is set to "Mute".
2. I can confirm that the camera "processing" delay disappears with "smart stabilization" disabled.

when you launch the app, push menu button > settings > window opens
Click on the settings icon on the right tab > scroll down you will see flash setting.
Switch to auto or On.
Enjoy.

I tried all of these and nothing alieved the delayed "processing" after taking a shot. It also would not allow me to take burst shots. I finally tried turning off smart stabilization and that fixed the lag problem. I was able to take burst shots as well after I disabled it
You need to disable image stabilization. It comes turned on by default.

You are probably shooting in HDR mode instead of auto mode.
HDR needs processing
People have been posting in the cm11 forum's that the camera won't show up,so let me show you how to fix that.
There are two ways you can do this.
1st method,
As you can see there is no camera shortcut
So go into settings and click lock screen, then there will
Be a option called camera shortcut click it, now you can launch camera from your lock screen.
2nd method.
As you can see there is no camera icon,so go to settings and click interface, now click Quick settings panel.
Underneath Static tiles is tiles and layout, press this.
Now there are a bunch of squares, press the plus, now select camera. Now when you want to use the camera just swipe down on the left and press camera and you will see a little square that can move, now press it and you can take a picture.
And that's how you use camera!
Give thanks if I helped you

A lot of people have been complaining about stock camera on Moto G. They complain of not having options to touch to focus, control picture size and many other things.
I decided to look at that and come it with a solution. I an not a Dev so I couldn't. But while clicking pics one day, I found advance option in stock camera in moto g to have these features.
To go to advance option on stock camera of moto g, first open the camera app then hold your phone horizontally. Now open settings by dragging your finger from left to right, when settings would open you can see a bug on the bottom on the right side of the screen. Click on this bug, and voila you'd be in advance configuration of the camera app. From here, you'll be able to change the size of your pics, can add face detection in front cam, touch to focus and many others.
Guys, enjoy.
I can't see the bug on the bottom right of the screen. What stock cam version is this tried on?

No go, seems that is a debug mode for the camera, the question is how did you enable it?

There must be a combination of things to endable it...maybe some one can look in te code of the camera app? and find the hidden key combination of things?
just an idea
Many people are not getting the bug so I, myself tried to find it the cause. The results that came out if my outcome is ; if you're on a custom ROM then and then only you can see the bug icon.
From those on the stock, you'll have to wait until I or someone other port the libs of camera and required files to stock ROM to enable that feature.
why i cant see the bug.. seems like a bug to camera or application or the system
Guys, camera libs to Stock ROM seems to be impossible for me as whenever I do that, the stock ROM fails to boot up.
The only way you can get that is try custom took like C ROM or CM11. It is working on both of them, I don't know about others. Try it on other rooms too and see if it works.

I did however install some of the free camera mode features, maybe it got installed with one of them. If you select mode and go to the bottom there is an option to download. I picked a few of the and they installed, then that's when I noticed the location feature. Try that.
Tried that. All 4 modes. Still no go. What mode did you see the option in?

Camera settings is actually bigger than what is shown use your finger to scroll it up and you'll see more options
