Connecting to an Exchange server - Droid 2 General

I am a Network Analyst at my company. One of our users just got a Droid 2 and it wont connect to the exchange server.
our CEO has a Galaxy S and it connects perfectly fine no problem what so ever.
I have read that this is an issue with the Droid X and the Droid 2 but can not get this working.
We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 and I know all the info I put in the phone is correct.
I tried both by the Name of our exchange server and the IP neither worked.
The error I get is "Could not connect to the server"
Any ideas?

I had trouble connecting the stock corporate email application to our Exchange 2003 server as well. The fix for me was to install an application named "Improved Email". Looks aand acts like stock except it actually syncs the Exchange email. I haven't tried adding to the Exchange calendar with it, but will try later when I have time.
Side note another initial problem I had connecting was that the ssl certificate was bad, just had it accept all certificates and it worked. Maybe not a good idea but I needed to see those emails.

I'm having the same issue as well, works on my Galaxy S but not on my droid 2, exact same server

VPN forgetting its password/settings after activesync :(

ok here is the setup:
domain and exchange setup on a lan with firewalls and vpn gateway.
I have configured the phone to local sync and remote gprs sync.
I have put in exceptions lists to my intranet for my company.com adresses.
it works fine to local sync and after a restart or 2 i can get the vpn connections going.
but after every local sync with AS 4.1 i get a question to re enter my userid and pw for the vpn connection when i´try to remote sync again. its like it foregets it or looses it somehow.
if I enter them again it works..
I have resetted and reinstalled everying 5-6 times always the same story
has anyone had the same problems??
i feel alone here...
Does anyone use vpn on thir WM5.0 devices??
I cant get it to remember the passwords...I am thinking it might be something ralated to AS4.1 but i am not sure...

ActiveSync issues with Exchange?

I've been having a problem for the past week in that I could not connect to my Exchange Server or passthru to the Internet with and ActiveSync connection.
At least for the moment, on the Connections menu, clicking on "USB to PC" and disabling "advanced networking functionality" seems to have resolved the problem.
Anybody else run into this?
And what is this advanced networking, anyway?
I've also noticed that Sprite Backup would fail with it enabled, so it seems I've solved two problems at the same time...
i had that issue as well the work around i did was connect to my wifi connect my device to my pc sync then disconnect my wifi
still a pain
I've always just connected straight to the server over GPRS/UMTS. I haven't even installed Active Sync on my new PC.
hi Folks,
i have the same issue with Active Sync. I am using Active Sync for syncronizing emails, contacts etc ... I have discovered if you installed the device (hardreset) then you may able to sync with the exchange for the first time. After that you are not longer able to sync it.
I used different ROM's (Dopod, Qtek,O2) all have the same problem. I am not able to sync over Active Sync (4.2 latest and prior versions) with my exchange server. I need to sync over 3G Network and thats a bit expensive over the time with O2.
I think this device is more than incomplete since i am using a Wizard too and i have no problems with the same pc on my Wizard device.
I hope there will be a ROM update really soon that covers many issues discussed in that board here...
At least i am really disappointed about the device which HTC sold over the market.
Hi
On mine this works! - nevertheless i am using the IP adress - could be a hint for you guys
BR
Daniel
do you mean the IP address from the Exchange Server? Or do you pair your device with static IP addresses? :?:
Well ...
I got mine to work after i discovered that the proxy server i placed under gprs connection denied the connection to the exchange server. switching all to MyISP resolved the issue.
If you use a firewall try to look which address the RAPI Manager tries to connect to. Maybe that helps for you to solve your error.
Hi
I use the IP adress for the exchange Server name. The connection Between laptop and device is negotiated automatically

email issue on MDA Vario

Hi, I hope you guys can help me.
I've had my MDA vario for about a week now, and ever since I got it, I cannot for the life in me get it to connect to my IMAP server using the built-in email client.
I done lots of testing stuff, which basically comes down to this:
networking/wifi is connected and working. I got an IP address from my DHCP server
I can ping the server's IP and receive information back
I can connect to the IMAP server using Qmail
but When I use the exact same connection details in the built in client, it doesn't work saying "unable to connect to the incoming mail server. Verify that your login information is correct, then try again to send and receive mail."
The other strange thing is, If I try connect to the mail server from outside my network, e.g. from my work's internet connection, entering my external IP, it works fine.
I've also checked out the server logs, and it doesn't seem to register a connection AT ALL.
so in short, the problem only occurs when connecting to my mail server from my local network, using the built in client.
Any ideas? is there a log file(s) I can check for any details of why it's not working?
I look forward to your replies.

Not Synchronizing

Having a i-mate Jasjam, but facing a problem from last two weeks. Problem is that when i connect the pda with laptop with a usb, activesync starts up, even connects and keep synchronizing but nothing is synchronized at all and receives the following error on pda "Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later on enter an IP address in network settings". I am running XP SP2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Exchange connection not working

Hello,
After a little more work i have some more info. While trying to conect my HD2 via activesync to our exchange server i keep on getting the 0x8501004 which is basicly saying that we have SSL inabled. Only allowsing port 443 to connect.
So in IIS i take that out and can still connect my laptop via http:// (not https) but the HD2 still has the same error. Our OMA is working too via IE8 tested on my laptop.
Is there any advice, as im sure our Exchange 2003 server is setup fine but still can not connect. This was the only reason for getting a smart phone.
thanks for any advice.
I'm not sure waht's wrong with your Exchange 2003 connection,
but I can tell you my HD2 works well connecting to Exchange and using certificate authorisation! (german ROM 1.48)
manilla
You must install certificates to your HD2.
Sorry to jump in But I am having problems installing certificates?
How do you install certificates.
Cheers

Your code has only 7 digits. What is the missing digit?
Does it fail only when sync over USB? Have you tried over HSDPA and over Wifi?
