no, there isn't... next time take a look at the full specifications before buying or intend to buy a product.. saves much regrets and troubles later..
but SE has this headset, MW600 that has built in radio, and you can use it with the x10. i believe one of the SE answer team guys said this somewhere. also on the SE website.
The interresting thing is, if the X10 have the hardware inside for FM-radio....
Many if not all BT chipsset actually have FM radio build into the chip...
Why SE didn´t eigther use such a chip, or why SE decided not to support the FM radio that perhaps allready is there hardware-wise, is the question...
Can someone confirm if or if not the BT chipsset in the X10 also contain a FM radio ?

I understand that the current Bluetooth version on all Wizards is 1.2 but that it is widely expected to be upgraded to 2.0 with the next ROM update, which will come with the MSFP features hopefully this month.

No, there is no FM Hardware...
It comes with an MW600 stereo BT headset w/ built-in FM receiver: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/pro...erview/xperiax10?cc=us&lc=en#view=accessories
It's better than having it in the phone - it does not use the phone's battery and you can use it without your X10!
would this be a good, upgrading to x10 idea or should I stick to my x1?
My x1 works still good, but I like to change from time to time
And if I would choose for the vivaz would this be a step back or not?
Regards,
Francis.

i think you meant upgrade lol. I think if your phone still works fine you should stick to your X1, but if not..well it's your choice
i had an x1, and it still works. i had an lg expo inbetween my x1 and x10 b/c i wasn't sure i wanted to switch to android yet. i loved WM, but now i'm quite happy with my x10 very fast and beautiful screen. i still think WM is more versatile. but android is quickly catching up ... i'd keep a hold of your x1 i still play around with mine but the x10 is the bee's knees!

Yep, I mean upgrade, as mentioned in my title
I have my X1 for about 2 years now. As said, I like to change from time to time.
I don't always wait until something is broken to change it.
But if I change it has to be for something "better".
Right now I'm looking at the Vivaz and the X10.
Vivaz and X10? X10 ftw! i know that Vivaz can record HD vids but that feature's also coming the X10 when we get the 2.1 update. I think Symbian is dying soon...so better stick with Google's android but, it's my opinion anyways. Good luck with your choice!

Do you miss the keyboard when typing? Or is it just something to get used to?
i was a dedicated x1 user until just last month until i switched to an x10. the only things i miss from the x1 is:
#1 keyboard & arcslider
#2 custom roms
#3 Starcraft & Warcraft ported games
#4 Optical joystick (makes scrolling webpages a breeze)
#5 Garmin (but CoPilot for Android works almost as well)
#6 the extra bluetooth profiles supported by windows (pbap, rsap, dun, bluetooth pan, etc.)
but there are probably more than 100 advantages the x10 has over the x1. once you get used to the x10 and the OS, you'll like the x10 a lot better..
X10 is my upgrade from the X1! I'm still gonna keep my X1 as a spare telephone. The X10 is everything I expected, but I needed to get used to android. But nowadays you can also flash an android rom on your X1 to see what android is all about!
Yess, I'm happy with my X10!

X1 is a great phone/pda. I loved mine and still have it as a backup. But going to X10 is like a leap into the future compared to the X1.
I am using X10 now, transfering from X1. Im happy with the transfer, in particular, after getting the firmware update of X10. Believe that you wont regret to have an X10, though it may take you some time to get familiar with it.

Whoa there are android roms now or x1? Im gonna check it out. Thanks for the news.
Can I play radio on the X10? Hardware is not added to it, but maybe there is another way? Regards, Francis.
Found the answer in the forum.
A hardware option from se is available.
Francis.
There are a number of radio apps in the market, I use the UK LBC app from the market and can tune to many stations in the uk.
I suppose it may depend where you are located in the world which stations you will get. Oh and you need a data plan because they are net\data stations.
I changed my x1 for my x10 is a weird change at least for me
miss all the apps I installed on the x1 and the weather apps mainly cause they didn't connect by themselves like on the x10
but now you get use to androidit seems to be a good OS but to be honest I miss winmo xD
So, I've been from the Motorola Droid 1 to the Samsung Epic 4g, now the tmobile g2. I've had it for 2 months now and until I installed CM7 R1 I never realized it had an FM radio. I saw the app, but I know CyanogenMod is meant for many phones, so I humored myself and opened the app, plugged in headphones and what do you know? Denver NPR!
I guess I never RTFM so I was wondering, did anyone else miss this feature or am I the only one?
BTW - I think this is a great thing, because some places I go I don't have data or even voice on t-mobiles spotty coverage.. so it's something to keep me company
A lot of the qualcomm chips and radios have have had FM radio in there but they never took the time to make it work. Cyanogenmod simply just made it work. You often see them in htc sense devices but nothing on stock.
Sent from my HTC Vision
The radio works on the Desire Z version in the UK. Don't use it much myself cause my mp3 player does the same thing and let's me record to the sd card. In fact, most HTC's in the UK have radio since at least the WinMo Touch series.

When an stock Rom will have an FM radio for Galaxy S4?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
For I9505 version never because it doesn´t have the appropriate hardware for it (the FM chip). If you want radio install TuneIn Radio application or buy quad core version of S4 (I9500)
There won't be as it does NOT have the radio module.

Really?? Didn´t know that.. I thought that i9500 has an FM but no 4G (except in S.Korea).
In my country (Croatia) they sell i9500? 32Gig version without 4G and advertising in specs FM radio ...and i9505 16Gig version with 4G and no FM ..it must be their mistake.

Since the actual hardwares missing, this could be an option:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-MW-600-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B0038M3H4S
You can pick them up on ebay for £30-40. Pretty good value really and gets good reviews also.

It could be possible that they sell a different variant of i9500 in Croatia. But i9500 does not have FM. Although S3 (i9300) had FM radio but they ditched it in S4.
In fact, I never missed it. I never listened to FM radio on my S3 either.

That really sucks. The FM radio module uses very little battery power and doesn't require data. Sadly because the service providers are not going to make money off the option it's been disabled or nixed all together. Sprint is the only service provider I know of here in the states that enables that function. My old back up Nokia has FM stereo on it so there is no reason it should not be enabled and functioning on all Samsung phones. It's actually a very good safety feature in times of emergency.
Samsung dumped the fm radio feature because they couldn't figure out how to monetize it. (That is direct from Samsung)
Unfortunately...you are one of like 12 people who care. So there is no mass protest to get Samsung to reinclude it on future models.
great phone, i don´t understand why i9505 doesn´t include fm chip
Read the post above yours. @Skipjacks spells it out quite succinctly.
I think it's quite stupid myself.
From various reading around the traps I'm under the belief that there actually is an fm chip on board (I think it's part of the broadcom chip that incorporates the bluetooth and stuff) but hasn't been connected and no android binaries developed. Well that is speculative at best.

Er not really though. Samsung say they don't implement it because they can't get money out of it (as already mentioned) Yet they still produce phones that have a FM radio feature. So which is it?
Think about it. The S4 Mini has a 4.3" screen running at 960x540 qHD resolution. The processor is "only" a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon. An 8MP camera rounds out the huge differences between the Mini and the standard S4. These differences are sufficient to lower the cost of manufacture, thus Samsung could easily toss in the FM Radio and still make money.
However, the fact the S4 Mini has an FM radio and the S4 doesn't is irrelevant. Samsung's official position on not offering it for the S4 was stated, and there's nothing else that need be said about it.

Err...the s4 doesn't have FM radio. Which is what this thread is about. Your point is moot and still irrelevant
