would this be a good, upgrading to x10 idea or should I stick to my x1?
My x1 works still good, but I like to change from time to time
And if I would choose for the vivaz would this be a step back or not?
Regards,
Francis.

i think you meant upgrade lol. I think if your phone still works fine you should stick to your X1, but if not..well it's your choice
i had an x1, and it still works. i had an lg expo inbetween my x1 and x10 b/c i wasn't sure i wanted to switch to android yet. i loved WM, but now i'm quite happy with my x10 very fast and beautiful screen. i still think WM is more versatile. but android is quickly catching up ... i'd keep a hold of your x1 i still play around with mine but the x10 is the bee's knees!

Yep, I mean upgrade, as mentioned in my title
I have my X1 for about 2 years now. As said, I like to change from time to time.
I don't always wait until something is broken to change it.
But if I change it has to be for something "better".
Right now I'm looking at the Vivaz and the X10.
Vivaz and X10? X10 ftw! i know that Vivaz can record HD vids but that feature's also coming the X10 when we get the 2.1 update. I think Symbian is dying soon...so better stick with Google's android but, it's my opinion anyways. Good luck with your choice!

Do you miss the keyboard when typing? Or is it just something to get used to?
i was a dedicated x1 user until just last month until i switched to an x10. the only things i miss from the x1 is:
#1 keyboard & arcslider
#2 custom roms
#3 Starcraft & Warcraft ported games
#4 Optical joystick (makes scrolling webpages a breeze)
#5 Garmin (but CoPilot for Android works almost as well)
#6 the extra bluetooth profiles supported by windows (pbap, rsap, dun, bluetooth pan, etc.)
but there are probably more than 100 advantages the x10 has over the x1. once you get used to the x10 and the OS, you'll like the x10 a lot better..
X10 is my upgrade from the X1! I'm still gonna keep my X1 as a spare telephone. The X10 is everything I expected, but I needed to get used to android. But nowadays you can also flash an android rom on your X1 to see what android is all about!
Yess, I'm happy with my X10!

X1 is a great phone/pda. I loved mine and still have it as a backup. But going to X10 is like a leap into the future compared to the X1.
I am using X10 now, transfering from X1. Im happy with the transfer, in particular, after getting the firmware update of X10. Believe that you wont regret to have an X10, though it may take you some time to get familiar with it.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Whoa there are android roms now or x1? Im gonna check it out. Thanks for the news.
Can I play radio on the X10? Hardware is not added to it, but maybe there is another way? Regards, Francis.
Found the answer in the forum.
A hardware option from se is available.
Francis.
There are a number of radio apps in the market, I use the UK LBC app from the market and can tune to many stations in the uk.
I suppose it may depend where you are located in the world which stations you will get. Oh and you need a data plan because they are net\data stations.
I changed my x1 for my x10 is a weird change at least for me
miss all the apps I installed on the x1 and the weather apps mainly cause they didn't connect by themselves like on the x10
but now you get use to androidit seems to be a good OS but to be honest I miss winmo xD

Any news about new updates/apps/panels etc ?
Things i would like to see:
1- specialized UI for Xperia made by SE. Most WM phones got one, why not Xperia?
Media Panel looks really nice, why not expand that into a complete UI skin ?
2- youtube panel
3- faster panel switching time. Currently its good and fast, but we still need it to be faster....
What do you guys think ?
very annoying and I'm beginning to get very envious of those with iphones
its a waste of time checking for new panels on the SE site.
why are independent developers not producing any to purchase?
When a firmware update will be available?

'coz panel are limited to xperia users as panels interface goues officially only on x1
and panels sucks imho
Well, the guy who bought the first fax machine was a complete idiot. Because there was no one to fax to.
Or remember at the end of the 90? When no one was willing to buy a DVD-Player because there were only around 5 Movies on DVD (which we already had on CD-i ;-) ) and the film studios didn't want to release DVDs because no one had got a DVD-Player?
With the panels and the Xperia X1 it's a bit similar - it will take some time, until creative and talented developers have got a X1 for their own.
im REALLY hoping for a YouTube panel.
any progammer with a lot of spare time??
i like panels there is a free sdk so everybody can make whatever they want
if they got the skills
of cause compared to iphone there is no central place to check and access them
but looking at the very closed way apple handle it and non disclosure agreement apple handle
it developers are not even allowed to talk with each-other
and they have to pay apple to get apps in the store
and apps can only be developed on a mac not a windows or linux computer
i pity iphone developers really
but granted it's bad news for other wm phone owners if programs are only made as panels and not as programs they can use

Its very frustrating that the Omnia, HD Touch, etc. all already have had firmware updates/upgrades/improvements, yet our Xperia is STILL on the original version.
Is this actually what we should expect from SE, because it is actually HTC producing the phone, but HTC cannot directly release a firmware (even if they know about problems)? I would presume HTC is the one that is handling the firmware, and SE is simply adding their panels, so any firmware updates should come from HTC then re-badged and renamed as an "SE" firmware update?
If that is the case, what is SE's track record of releasing firmwares? In fact, do you think SE has to PAY for each firmware update to HTC? Maybe we shouldn't even expect any firmware updates because of this?!

Believe me... Xperia is a far better device than the iPhone. iPhone was a breakthrough device, sure, but Xperia is more powerful. (I have been using an iPhone 1st Gen since it was released, and have literally not touched it since i got my Xperia)
Sure iPhone has a lot of stuff out for it... but you can't compare panels to iPhone's apps and games... panels are something different. If you wanna talk about games and apps, then more and more windows mobile apps and games are starting to support the Xperia/Touch-HD resolution and so we'll see more soon.
What are you cruying for? The other companies had to give fast updates because of the bad first ROM. SE made the best ROM I have ever seen at a PPC. It is the most stable PPC I ever had and even with this first ROM. Not to believe! What to wish more? The more time to wait for the x1 was good used by SE
There seem to be only a very few very small issues (as bluetooth disconnecting at some devices, I am lucky not to have this problem till now) and I am sure there will be an update for them.
Well lets hope that sonyericsson does not treat this platform the same way they treated uiq.. Uiq is more or less dead today.. Had an m600 from se,uppgraded with their very latest (and last)firmware and still buggy like hell..
Hopefully we can get a firmware update with:
a) IE 6
b) faster panel switching
As far as the panels are concerned, SE is going to have to make XPERIA a brand before we start seeing more and more panels created. It's like the whole chicken and the egg thing, but the ball is really in SE's court.
I downloaded and looked at the SDK last night, looked alright. I bet developers are waiting to see how committed SE is to the XPERIA brand.

i'm agree with pf. i used htc phones like elf, nike, kaiser even the blackstone
but xperia was the fastest and stable, the keyboard responds fast not like the kaiser. when you use tf3d its responds faster than the diamond. there are little things but which phone is perfect??
i have no issue with the rom. i have everything original don't need to tweak anything causes only crashes.

I dont know about the whole "SE buying updates from HTC" but I can tell you that at least here in Sweden a firmware update is imminent. The actual update is done and is now being evaluated by the operators before release.
Oh, and about SEs track record for updates... its never been very good.

Wait a sec. If there is an update that you have heard of? please share it!
Honestly the main thing i would like to see in X1 is an UI shell similar to HTC or Omnia. I know SE love to have their phones with top of the line UIs. But with X1, they did nothing..... beside a nice looking media panel.
About the app store, i think i have heard that MS is working on an app store when they release WM 6.5/7 will be similar to what iphone app store.

Sorry, I have no information regarding what's actually in this update. I only know this because that's what SE support have told me in an email reply.
Truthfully though, I wouldn't put too much faith into what SE support says. I talked to them about another matter about a month ago adn was promised that a fw update would come out "any day now, at the latest two weeks before xmas"... nah, don't think so
Sony is not doing ANYTHING bout the xperia.. have they given up with it? im getting soooooo bored with the phone, theres no new panels etc. i'm never getting a windows mobile phone
http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/palm-pres-new-ness-event-video-now-viewable/
seems to be much much much much better than WinsMo will ever get!
There's alot more to WM than meets the eye you know. The Xperia is hyped with the Panels in mind but it's certainly not the only feature there's alot more that can be done.
I, myself have removed the panels completely, I don't like them and never used them. I currently use the Panels button to open my comm manager so I can change what's on and what's not.
Have you installed any other software for you phone at all? Just a few interfaces to mention for instance:
TouchFlo
SPB Pocket Plus
SPB Mobile Shell
Im sure there's more. The bottom two offer a heck of alot of customization for the "look" of your phone. Skins/Icons. You could have it looking like an iPhone if you wanted, or there abouts.
On top of that there's more programs that you can install than you can shake a stick at. It's much like a PC, the amount of things you can do with it is amazing.
I'll agree there are problems with the device, but the problem with the majority is they always look on the negatives and not the positives. Sometimes the phone is a bit hard to use and after showing a few friends of mine the phone, they have really liked it but I have had to put them off the phone because they without being rude don't have the knowledge to use the phone and be happy with it to it's fullest.
Windows Mobile really is what you make it, some like it, some hate it. It's not the greatest of operating systems for phones and it's probably one of the most hardest to use and learn, but the options you have are well worth the effort.

mate, i hated windows mobile before! yes i did, even though i'm a microsoft "fan" but when i used my X1, i started customizing it in a way that really fits my needs, and now i'm using my phone as a computer which is always in my pocket!
you can find alot of cool stuff in the forum, customize your phone and play arround with it, change all default values (be careful not to change something that will make you hard reset, and always backup). Customize the phone, windows is the most flexible and customizable OS ever (sorry Linux fans).
let me know if you need any help
The thing that concerns ME is that SE and HTC have parted ways, and no longer co-operate.
That means the support level for our HTC-made Xperia X1's is going down the tubes. HTC is the one most likely responsible for firmware upgrades to their hardware, so now that SE and HTC no longer co-operate/partner I highly doubt HTC will be making any firmware updates for our phone.
Consider this... the HTC Touch HD has been released after the X1, yet has already receive one or two firmware updates by HTC to fix various issues. The X1 has received ZERO updates.
SE has basically decided to give up on the Xperia X1 from what we can see, since they moved to a new manufacturer.
Of course, this doesn't mean the great developers at XDA will not be coming out with home brew firmwares and fixes, but it does mean that official support from SE is probably going to be winding down and dying...
why else would a simple fix to the bluetooth problem (which MANY people here have found) is not being pushed out? Because SE doesn't want to pay HTC to release the firmware fix since they no longer co-operate.
Oh well. I hope to be proven wrong, but the fact HTC is pushing out firmware updates for all their devices but NOT the Xperia X1 (despite being released longer) confirms this.

Eeek! That's news to me. I was planning on buying an X1 soon (read: early next month?), but now I'm going to have to reconsider after I send Sony a line of questions. If HTC isn't making the phone anymore, who is? Or is it simply going to go out of stock after the reserves sell?

What a load of crap.
All we know is that HTC won't be building the X2 (or whatever they end up calling it) together. We don't even know what OS is going to run on it.
However it's SE responsibilty for the software, they are working on a new firmware, whether those on branded phone will see it depends on their networks (unless you do a DIY job).
And if SE do need help from HTC with some hardware issues, HTC will need to provided it, they will be under contract and most likely will want to build future models (X3).
HTC is not going to produce "next" Sony Ericsson phone.
HTC still produces XPERIA for Sony Ericcson.

Lies.....
I have seen what the new Palm Pre can do...it's a good interface but basically that's all it has good interface.
And yes I am impressed but I told myself, I will never buy a Palm because it looks like it has shifted from pda function to a P.O.S. kid's toy ... a competitor to the iphone.
I am looking for a backup device when I don't have the computer, not some stupid kid's toy.
Also...I really really want the Omnia HD...it's multimedia and out of the box experience is great, but AGAIN, symbian add-on software isn't as good. So if I were to buy a Samsung Omnia HD, I would buy it as a PMP, and I would buy a Toshiba TG01 as a Pocket PC.
But for now, Xperia has some qualities of Omnia HD and some qualities of other good and fast windows mobile phones like Toshiba TG01. Obviously Omnia HD doesn't have windows mobile, which I prefer over symbian (I've used symbian S60 first before switch to Windows Mobile), and it's also obvious that Toshiba TG01 doesn't have headphone jack and keyboard like the Xperia. So Xperia is the sort of the best of both worlds for now.
If I had cash I'd buy Toshiba TG01 and Omnia HD seperate...but if only XDA developed for the Toshiva TG01....
If there was a super godlike overkill hybrid phone that was both the Toshiba TG01 and Omnia HD...I would buy that hybrid instead...

I think we should sticky that comment to the front page. IN BIG LETTERS.
Dears,
I had HD2 and it was stolen, accordingly i started search journey to buy a new phone, I was amazed by Android OS and the best Spec sheet is found under X10 but there is a lot of limitations on the current version and the most important that the market is not enabled in my region (Egypt).
Comparing it to other phones mentioned above (SATIO, iPhone4 and N8) I will be confused.
I want to have stable OS, good camera, Powerfull Web Browser, Exchange program, lot of program to try and no problem to buy
And all the above including the X10 have it all.
YOUR ADVICE PLEASEEEE
----------------
Thanks for the support, I bought the X10 on Thu 24th of June 2010....
Feedback after using the X10
Here is my story with X10 after 1 day of usage.
Since this is the first time to me to use the Android system, so I noticed that it is (from the interface side) a mix between iPhone and WM but it is much better faster and stable.
Network Reception ... Perfect
GPS reception ... Perfect
OS ... Perfect
Phone Dialer ... Similar to the iPhone one
Messaging ... Similar to the WM one
Browser ... Perfect in English sites not the Arabic one
Arabic support ... Very Poor (supposed to be supported in next Update 2.1)
Navigation program ... perfect as a 30 days trials and the 12 month upgrade will cost me 70Euro (costly some how but i will buy it as there is no alternative).
Android Market ... Medium in terms of paid programs (as Document2Go) and Perfect for the free programs (when Google will be able to give us access to the paid market).
Camera ... File size and quality is more than perfect but I've noticed that the image contrast is very High and I couldn't adjust it and there is a problem in the flash must be activated from the advanced menu every time i want to use it (stupid).
Exchange program ... Very powerful since it is for free (Roadsync which is a paid program is VERY powerful than the stock one). The problem is that i cannot set a frequent Sync other than push (which consume the battery to the maximum).
Battery life ... After 12 hours extensive usage there are 37% remaining power in the battery (which is good since i used a lot today , GPS, Camera, WEB, Exchange, messaging and Market).
Build quality ... So Far So Good
This is my initial feedback and will be followed by another feedback soon...
-------------------
To be continued .....

Thanks, I own a MacBook Pro, so I used on Apple crab
but at the same time I don't change my mobile a lot (I still have my Nokia E90 and it is in Excellent shape). so what I'm doing is studying the market very well and take expert opinion and then decide to buy a mobile that will last at least 2 years with me.
thanks for the advice
satio is not so great. resistive screen, old symbian and an apparently laggy interface. if you want a s.e. symbian i'd go with a vivaz pro, if you want any symbian device, i'd go and n8 otherwise x10 is the way to go.
if you post a poll here, surely X10 will win, but anyway
Satio - if I'm not mistaken Satio has a 12MP camera, but the OS is Symbian, from past experience the Symbian OS were great until the N series came along, since then I find the OS quite laggy and somewhat outdated so I decided to stop using Nokia phones along with any Symbian OS related phones
N8 - not much to say since it's not out yet, as you read above I'm not as impressed with Symbian OS as I used to anymore, I'd suggest you should wait until the phone is released and look for reviews
iPhone 4 - to me it's another iPhone 3Gs, with video calling as long as you're connected to a wifi and bits of improvement on the hardware, next thing you know a year after Apple will release iPhone 4G/4s/something with bits of improvement over iPhone 4 (maybe like video calling without the need of a wifi, since last I check, iPhone 4 is only 3G)
X10 - the reason I prefer X10 over everything is because of Android OS, it's constantly growing and with version 2.2 (froyo), it shows that it can be better than iPhone's OS, we'll probably not be getting 2.2 from SE, but recent news that we have root (that enables us to use 2.2 as long as someone is willing on making a custom 2.2 ROM for X10). Hardware wise X10 may not be better than some Android phone, but it's one of the few with decent hardware and design
U can debrand ur Phone, then u will have the market! I know some guys in the U.A.E. have done this!
I was a bit hesitant on moving from Windows Mobile to Android as well previously, but now that I got the X10 and used Android have absolutely no regrets and never looked back since. It really puts Window Mobile to shame I think. Don't like the iphone simply because of all the hype and its closed nature, I like to own my phone not be told what I can and can't use on it. Also, still think that X10 is the best looking phone out there. Camera is great, especially if you know what settings to use and the stock browser is great to use, even though there are plenty other browsers out there. The only thing that annoyed me was SE's keyboard implementation which everyone hates. Using the Android keyboard or HTC's solved that problem. Was never a fan of symbian so X10 wins I reckon. Just be sure to buy it knowing that it takes a while for SE to give updates.

+1 Exactly how I feel. I returned my X2 and got the X10 instead.
I would never give a cent nof my money to Apple. They "re-invent" ideas already out there and put an iSpin on it. Then they have the audacity to try to sue any competition claiming they copied Apple, they even tried to sued a non profit organization from NEW YORK for using an apple on their logo.
BTW, you don't need market to install apps on your phone. Look up "Astro".
if the options are galaxy nexus something im not sure which i ll chose
but with these option x10 is the only answer for me
I have seen some sample HD video's taken by the iPhone 4 camera, and the quality is much better than any phone I've seen, including the X10. Picture wise, the the iPhone and X10 are probably about equal, but the N8 should be better than both. I haven't really seen any video samples taken by the N8, but I suspect it's pretty damn good at that as well, so if camera is very important I'd go for the iPhone or N8.
In a few months time the X10 will get HD video recording as well, so who knows how it will hold its own by that time.
Operating system wise, the X10 probably wins by a fair amount. Plus the hardware looks great.
haha should those fruit seller get a license from apple before they can sell an apple?
x10 is the best choice for now i have both hd2 and x10 ,x10 is much more fun ,and with respect to the limitations x10 is rooted and all issues will be fixed isa

satio is not so great. resistive screen, old symbian and an apparently laggy interface. if you want a s.e. symbian i'd go with a vivaz pro, if you want any symbian device, i'd go and n8 otherwise x10 is the way to go.

Nice choice, will check its review on GSM Arena

if you post a poll here, surely X10 will win, but anyway
Hardware wise X10 may not be better than some Android phone, but it's one of the few with decent hardware and design

totally agree with you regarding the poll issue but i wants the experts opinion regarding the X10 (which i prefer more but i don't want to waste my money)
Are you sure about the 2.2 issue as I read today that SE will release 2.1 not 2.2

I feel the same way as I was using the HD2 and it is the best in its category now I want to change to another OS that is more stable without having any problems as the one i faced in HD2
Today is the day, when i said good bye to my HD2.
It has been qute an experience owning the device and trying all these different WinMo, Android SD and Nand, Windows Phone 7, but i guess i got tired of all those, what is working and not working rom, and now i deceided to get a Xperia X10...
I want to thank all of the developers, testers, and all of the users of this subforum. Great job guys.
Shame... I had an X10 for about a week before I got rid for the HD2 (my second HD2) ... The X10 has a few 'quirks' of it's own but nothing reflashing can't fix.
ithink hd2 its quite good device, since all my friend complaining baout that n this on their soner device...
HTC is more experienced for PDA things than
I've got HD2 with Rafdroid and X10 (updated to 2.1). After using X10 I still come back to my second phone (I find Sense much, much more useful than Sony's firmware - especially these things that decide about phone functionality - adress book (searching is much better in Sense), phone and so on.)
I owned a X10 before but i was disappointed.
lmao. So let me get this straight, you're going from HD2 to the X10? In case that wasn't clear enough...
YOU'RE GOING FROM THE HD2 to the X10?!
lulz
Yep, i got rid of my 9 months old HD2 for a brand new X10, which has everything right out of the box. I wanted to have android for so long and i have tried qute a few sd and nand builds, but still there is something not working. i.e. i must connect to wpa2 enterprise network everyday ... no build support that... sorry hd2 ....

imho, (and i provide phone tech support for virgin), you are correct to say its all the out of the box, but the build quality, mtbf*, useability, screen quality, reception and software are much below the Leo.
Don't forget that SE don't as a rule supply updates for their phones, and don't expect to update the rom on the X10 this centuary.
You would have made a better choice to go for a Wildfire S
Mean time between failures
If I was you, id try and sell the x10 and get a superior phone, perhaps an Hd2, if you need advice on running wp7 and android, we can help

What he said ^
Gosh guys, if he gets a new phone don't kill him over it. Fact is, our hd2 is non comparable to a true android phone. So it's obvious he's got a better android phone than us. Don't trash him about it.
PS. if any of you guys try to tell me that our hd2's are faster than android phones, root the android phone, tweak it, then flash a custom rom / kernel, then you'll see that android phone flying beyond what our hd2's can do.
niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yeah I would think the HD2 the better of the two ?
X10 has locked bootloader - there are few custom ROMs and SE said they won't update the official Android in Xperia.
You wanted Android from the box - why not Galaxy S?

Because the galaxy s is known for it's hardware problems. However I find the problems insignificant in my case and opinion.
Now personally I find you choice of the X10 a bad one, as the desire, desire hd or even desire z would have been a better choice. But hey, congrats on the new device. :3
Hi guys! i'll be going to singapore soon to buy my htc hd2. Missed all the tweakings. Had an xda, then xda exec then got an htc shift (still with me now). Looking forward to have one soon.
You chahged hd2 for xperia? If I were you I wouldn't tell anyone about this stupidity. You are crazy, man!
When i had a Xperia X10 i waited 4 months for an update. And not to 2.2 or 2.3 but
from 1.6 to 2.1.(The first and last update for the Xperia X10 family.)
When i got the update guess what, still no multitouch, no adobe flash player, same laggy Timescape and Mediascape. And did not mention the BIG quadrant score: somewhere around 460-500, with the update.
So i did own a Xperia X10i for 4 months and i can say from experience that the HD2 android it is far better than the Xperia X10i.
This is only my opinion. I was happy to change the X10 for a HD2.
You did the opposite.Hope you will be happy with it.
Hi there, xda people!
I need some help with my decision. I'm looking for a smartphone with a big screen, Wi-Fi, 3G, good camera and a nice design. both of them are ok for my needs and the price doesn't matter. So wonder if you guys, the experts can tell me what the benefits of WP7 are and those of Android. And also: Xperia X10 in Black or in White
What also matters is the compatibility with a Mac and if the device is upgradeable easily and without hacking it.
Wp7 doesn't have many apps at all, and is pretty bland IMO.
It isn't very Customizeable, and for me would be boring only having one homescreen.
You could put android on the hd7 though, so it doesn't have to be a wp7 vs. Android debate
I have an X10i and my wife has the HD7, feel to ask away.
Just a few quick points...
In regards to hardware...
The HD7 feels *much* slimmer but I think it's kind of awkward. I think the curvature of the X10 makes holding the phone nicer. The HD7's curvature is all wrong.
The camera is much nicer on the X10 but a shame that there's no led flash.
The screens are about the same (obviously, HD7 is larger) but I prefer mine as the resolution is higher. But if you're going to use netflix, the HD7 is nice.
The HD7 has a far better touch digitizer.
Software...
You're going to get more Android bias by posting here. If you want to compare stock vs stock, the HD7 is better. No lag, no stutters, no random freezes for 5 seconds (also, not any room for customizing besides the order of your tiles). A lot of common apps I use on my X10, I've begun seeing on the wp7 app marketplace. If you can live without some apps then you would probably be ok for now. WP7 marketplace is nowhere near the size of Android's, but there's a lot less crap software to wade through too.
But with the X10 getting 2.3, I *hope* it changes (and the HD7 getting Mango in the fall). And if you decide to run a different rom, well, then it gets into a whole different scope of discussion.
Upgrade...
As far as upgrading any of those phone on a mac... You can't with the X10. MS has software to do it for the HD7. To upgrade the X10 on a mac you would need to use bootcamp... i'm not sure if there's a flash tool program to load roms for the X10 on the mac (maybe someone who works with macs can chime in here).
u've never thought about the Xperia Arc?

Thanks for the insight. Does your
wife use alot of google services? Im interested in gmail, reader and gcal

I had used HD2 from HTC for a while, and I honestly have to say I don't like WM much, the OS is slow and freeze sometimes.
I switched to HTC Aria (AT&T) few months ago and everything is great!, Android is much better with free apps and the ease to customize anything you like.
I upgraded to X10 today, and still looking for some ways to unlock it, my cell is AT&T.

Of those, I know she uses gmail. WP7 works perfectly with it. I'll check it out later - see how the search works with it (and labels, etc).
She doesn't use google reader but I think there are a couple apps that work with it.
I know she uses a calendar service on her phone but i'm not sure if it's google's or live's calendar. I'll check it out this afternoon but I think it works pretty good with google's calendar. From what I read, if you put something in on wp7, it sets it as an invite and not event. There's a setting on the web based google calendar to display invites.
There is a google maps app that someone made. It works ok, it shows traffic and all the basic stuff. Unfortunately no real navigation option yet.
eizonuts, I'm guessing the OP is on T-Mobile USA. The HD7 and X10i both work on TMO's AWS spectrum.
It's really hard to recommend one over the other not knowing what the OP is looking for software-wise in a phone. Not to mention that the X10 receiving 2.3 in the next month is huge (well, hopefully).
Thanks for the insight.
Im asking because I'm eligable for a hardware upgrade soon and I'm trying to swap my x10 for a win7 handset for a extended trial run.
Once I pick a platform I'll use my upgrade on a top end handset for that os
