Is there any company and if yes Is there any experience in dealing with ??
(I know for a alternative market like andappstore, slideme this are fine but not even close Google market)

Hi,
I am in a situation where I really wonder how I will be able to use my Samsung ( or any other android phone) to work ...
I have the feeling that for everything else I will be able to forget the iphone ( I am waiting for some app on android market for aussie users but it's coming soon) and for many features it will be way better than the iphone ( music without itune, video and game on this awesome screen ....)
Regarding the business I need to be able to do something simple : read a mail and reply/forward it
For the moment I have not been able to do so completely.
For instance, if there is a screenshot embedded in the mail, when I reply or forward the mail my apps will either
*put the image as attachment ( the best case)
*let an empty box and my screenshot will not be anmore in the mail
*create an unreadable mail with xml node everywhere
*put the whole mail into an attachment.
Even for the display of the mail receveid only few app will display the screenshot without changing it into an attachment ( it can be annoying if there are several screenshot with text around in the original mail....)
For the moment I have tested the stock samsung app, HTC work mail 1.00.024, K-9 , touchdown, HTC on froyo stock app ...
Do you have any idea if Android will be one day able to do what windows and apple do for years ??
I thought Froyo would be the answer but I am less and less confident on this ...
PS : I knew when I bought the Samsung that the android 2.1 was not supporting exchange but I thought froyo would and that iterce app would also
PPS : here is an example of what my mail looks like when forward with android app :
<html xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:word" xmlns:x="urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:excel" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeowerpoint" xmlns:a="urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:access" xmlns:dt="uuid:C2F41010-65B3-11d1-A29F-00AA00C14882" xmlns:s="uuid:BDC6E3F0-6DA3-11d1-A2A3-00AA00C14882" xmlns:rs="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:rowset" xmlns:z="#RowsetSchema" xmlns:b="urn:schemas-microsoft-
and of course all the text around the screenshot has disappeared
Now my colleague is using Froyo on the Desire and he is still not able to do what I want.
Samsung (the conglomerate) is converting their entire mobile infrastructure to include android powered (specifically the Galaxy S) devices. I'm not sure if the proprietary apps can be ported/moved to other phones or companies but it seems to show that there is alot of confidence in using android for businesses.
Things it will include from what i gather are:
VPN to corporate network.
Access to corporate mail (POP?) from wifi and HSPUDA (secured connection licensed from mobile provider).
what's wrong with installing 3rd party software to connect to outlook/exchange ?
Android doesn't have out of the box support for exchange yet, if that is what you are looking for.
The idea of Android is open source, and a big wide market for all programmers to make some profit by release software that will fill the gap, to gather whatever the people needs.

I am not sure you have read my post correctly ?
I have nothing against installing a 3rd party app that's why I said that I hoped that a 3rd party app would support exchange entirely... but there is no 3rd party app which does the job as the iphone !!!
That's why I tested so many different app
Now one moretime when you say : doesn't support yet ... did you read my post ??
I have tested Froyo and it 's just as bad as android 2.1
So now I have to wait maybe android 3.0 for a potential spport of exchange, is that what you meant ??

Some Options for you
There are many alternatives:
1- SlideMe (application can be downloaded to ur device)
http://slideme.org/
2- Opera Market (accessed thru the opera browser home page)
3- Amazon AppStore (application can be downloaded to ur device)
www.amazon.com/appstore
4- GetJar: http://www.getjar.com/
5- Handandgo: http://www.handango.com/
These are for me the best alternatives for official market. But there are many others. Check the link below from wikipedia citing a list of application stores for various operating systems.

Hope this helps.
I can suggest another: moborobo market.
Hope it helps

I have had A500 for couple of days. I want to get the basic android softwares on it. Later I will root it but first I want to try the normal softwares and tools. I am looking for instructions how to install the basic android applications on it
- android market
- google maps
- gmail
When I got my A500 I noticed there is no google maps, no gmail no android market app. Browser and normal email application is available and several other applications.
Here is the version information of the device. Languages on the device are english, simplified chinese and traditional chinese.
Android version
3.0.1
Kernel version
2.6.36.3-00001-gda2e777
Build number
Acer_A500_1.13502_AAP_CUS4
FLEXVersion
02_AAP_CUS4
Product SKU
Wifi
Device info version
1.0
Model ID
A500
EC version
21010000
on the right up corner you can tap, to see all of the installed applications
Is there a list of applications which should be found on a brand new Acer A500?
THere should already ( maps, gmail, and market apps ) on a stock A500... !
even if you have nothing... at least there should be 1 app ( MARKET ) !!
this is another one of Acer's weird approach to standardize the same device ( 1 device, yet so many different build # )
You should try and get the data connection functional first ( home wifi )... then go into "settings--about device---system update" and push the system update button to see if there is an update available for you
FYI... in order to visit market... you need at least a gmail/google account. ( it is still strange that you don't have market icon/app pre-installed
I have checked, no gmail, only the "normal" email application. There is application called minimap, half of the menus are in chinese, other half in english.
There is some other nonstandard market application. It is gohd something. There is chinese applications on that market. Nothing usefull there.
This Acer is Asia version.
I have android phone which works here in China, android market on that phone works also. This Acer A500 looks very very limited. I guess I need to root it to make it usefull.
sorry I couldn't be more helpful...
You sure you didn't get swindled for one knock-off device ??
It's just sound weird from what you've listed of the device's contents
I puchased Iconia in china and got the same issue : no google market but a GoMarketHD !!!!!!
how can we install google market ?
To the best of my knowledge, Android Market in not available in China.
I'm sure if you had it installed and it was tied to a Chinese @gmail account or whatever, downloads would fail.
The chances are the only option would be to root and ROM the tab ***I'm just guessing*** OR you'll have to find some other way to circumvent the system checks. Your ISP might not even allow it - the Marketplace itself might not even allow incoming connections from China - I don't know.
Others might be more knowledgeable about this issue.
Good luck.
To be honest, it sounds like rooting the tablet and installing another non-Asian ROM on it would be the best solution.
well I have an HTC Desire which I purchsed in China as well and google market is working fine !
yeah I think I am going to root it ......
Look for the honeycomb version of market here on xda and sideload it. Any of the tablet forums here probably have of posted. Then just download gmail once that's installed right from the market.

If you've heard of the psx4droid issue with google's appstore,
then you will know that the program and the developer were locked out of the
android store because of a misunderstanding between google and the developer
(no straight communication line)
He also has an n64droid app.
The developer ZodTTD is now looking for thirdparty markets and other mobile platforms to
to market his apps.
Ive written email to him and he is actually going to look into the BADA SDK.
This is his homepage http://www.zodttd.com/
It would encourage him to know that there is an actual market among bada users.
WHy not email him and let him know that you would buy his psxemu and N64 emu app if it appears
on the samsung store?
If he gets hundreds of emails he wont turn his back on potential sales and customers.
Shoot him an email and let him know your interested.

Hi,
I did some search on Google and ran into one advertising service called MultiplAds.com . It offers developers to earn money by including their FREE tools in developers' applications appearing on websites, desktop apps and apps on iOS and Android devices.
Did anyone already try this service ? What was your experience ?
Any feedback highly appreciated.
