I installed Titanium Backup and froze Media hub, and now after my phone is locked and screen goes off, it won't turn back on. I have to take out battery and then restart phone to access it. Anyone else have this problem? I just defrost media hub and checking to see if it'll do it again.
I did the same thing and my screen turns on just fine.
I froze media hub and three DRM services for the hell of it. Then I froze the downloader thing and the market died. So I unfroze the downloader and market works. Media hub has been frozen on my phone for about a week now.
hey since you disabled the drm services, are you able to play avatar the movie still?

Hey, guys had the strangest thing happen a few minutes ago to my phone. Had it on for the past couple of days running Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC1. I turned on the touch based security for my login to the phone for added security, included in cyanogenmod. When I hit the power button to look at my phone the buttons were being pressed, it wasn't like one or two buttons, but a combination of five or six and it was going in different random patterns, like someone was remotely trying to guess my security sequence. My screen automatically goes to sleep after a minute and it did so, but when I pushed the power button to turn the screen back on, the strangeness was still going on. My addon apps installed directly from the app store include:
AK Notepad, Titanium Backup, Istock manager, google maps, sports tap, android terminal emulator, robo defense free, the weather channel, passwdsafe, google sky map, gmail, kindle for andriod, astro file manager, listen, rom manager, driod wall, pandora radio, angry birds, documents to go, stargamer, and amazon mp3.
So anything here look malicious or any ideas why this could be happening? Whenever I updated to 6.1 RC1 I did a full wipe as well as cache wipe. Anyone else seen anything like this or recommend anything? I rebooted and everything seems back to normal?
Sounds like a good question to ask cyanogen directly, i know theirs a link somewhere for bug reports on his rom thread.
Sounds to me like your screen wasn't grounded or something along those lines. Disconnect USB, yank battery, boot solely from battery and try again.
agree with drmacinyasha. If it was a rogue app or something of the sort, it wouldn't need your pass code since it has access to the system itself.
The only reason the the pass code is there, is for the user, not the applications that are running, else all the apps would automatically terminate or idle when you put it on standby.
I have an AT&T GS4 with the MF3 update. I rooted it back in October, then tried to un-root it in November, which worked as far as root checker is concerned. It still says "custom" with a lock symbol when I turn it on though.
Anyway, yesterday afternoon it started doing weird things.
-The play/pause button on the headphones doesn't play or pause anything, though if i hold it I still get the voice commands.
-Scrolling in apps and menus hesitates and skips.
-It hangs up when I wake it up before it will let me swipe to unlock.
-Sometimes while listening to podcasts it will just pause them, or switch to google music for less than a second before pausing all sound in the headphones.
-Once when I picked it up off my desk (with the screen off and nothing plugged into it) it started playing google music out loud in my silent office.
All of this started suddenly yesterday afternoon. I had not downloaded any new apps in a while, and I didn't really notice if anything was updated.
I have tried formatting my SD card, closing as many running apps as I can identify, rebooting, removing the battery, removing the SD card, and cleaning out the headphone jack of dust. Oh, and I tried to download wakelock detector, but it will not install. No errors, it just downloads and sits at 100% without installing.
I have very little experience with messing with Android, since I came from an iPhone back in August to this, and didn't get to play with anything before I got the awful MF3 update. So if anybody has any suggestions, keep that level of knowledge in mind.
In attempting to back up my data, it will not connect to my computer. I have a mac with Android File Transfer that I have used in the past, but just says it cannot connect. It did connect once, but it took a few tries and now it won't connect again.
Just today I went to cast something on Netflix and noticed the cast icon wasnt there (I have 2 chromecasts). So I tried rebooting the chromecast but it still wasnt there. I grabbed my wifes phone and she didnt have it either. So I download the official Chromecast app and it cant find any devices. However some apps can still see it... for example Play Movies can see them and Allcast. But Youtube, Netflix and Play Music all do not show a cast button.
I then checked from my laptop and it works normally.
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing its maybe an update or something?
Oddly enough I was chatting with a friend and he had the same issue.... I rebooted my Wifi access point and now I can cast using everything again... very odd.
The only thing we both did recently was install Videostream
So in general I have always had some issues with performance on this phone. That being said, yesterday some weird stuff started. First my phone was getting really hot for no reason, and draining the battery very fast. Even after I killed everything, rebooted the phone and powered off all the way. Even more odd, when I open the gallery, from the icon or from inside any app, (whatsapp, the camera, messaging) my Play Music starts up in the background. I have no idea what is causing this. I have rebooted the phone, powered it off for a bit, removed the battery, and it still happens.
Has anyone else run into issues like this?
I tried to duplicate with other apps, Smart audiobooks, Pandora and Poweramp. It still started up Play Music every time. Even overriding the other apps if I was listening to them and opened the gallery.
Hi, I have a Galaxy S10+ on Verizon in the USA.
Having a few major problems that I just can't figure out:
1. When I try to download apps from the Play store, the download gets to 99 or 100% but never completes the installation. The fix is to go into settings/apps/show system apps/download manager and "force stop." Then the installation will complete.
2. Some apps don't work correctly. For example the CBS Radio News app starts streaming audio, then stops a few seconds later. And the ParKing app sometimes records my location upon disconnection from my car's bluetooth, and sometimes it doesn't.
3. Notifications from all apps are totally unreliable. Sometimes they'll come right away. Sometimes not for hours, and sometimes all at once. And sometimes when tapping on a notification it will bring you into the app. while sometimes it will do nothing.
WHAT I TRIED:
Tried rebooting, clearing data and cache on problem apps.
Cleared data and cache on "Google", Google Play Store and google play services.
Cleared phone's cache partition.
Uninstalled and reinstalled broken apps.
I THOUGHT I FOUND THE SOLUTION:
All these problems went away a month or so ago when I logged out of my google account on the phone. Iogged back in and it all worked great! I thought the problem was solved, but now it's all happening again. Logged of the the google account and back in, but it's still broken this time.
AND:
I had similar problems with my Galaxy S7, and thought the new phone would fix these problems! Is it possible there's something wrong with my google account? How could I have the same problems on both phones?
I haven't yet tried a factory reboot on the S10+, but I did do it on the S7, and after working for a while, the problems came back.
Additional info:
Mobile data and wifi have strong signals.
No custom ROMs, not rooted or anything, just stock the way it came. Only downloaded apps from Play Store. Nothing sideloaded.
All battery optimization is turned off. Power mode set to "high performance."
I've looked everywhere for a solution and have come here to the ultimate experts. You're my last hope!
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
