Clockworkmod Recovery Stuck at .pcsync_stream - Vibrant General

Hey people im having A huge problem (took me ALL afternoon to get here) ok so i flashed a bad ROM, Odin'ed back to stock (but when i did that it always said "wipe data failed", and now im trying to restore a backup in recovery and it keeps on freezing at "pcsync_stream" and it also froze one time at "HALGPS_conf.cfg", i replied on a post that had a similar problem but no one answered so i made my own, here is the link to the other post if you need more info:
PLS REPLY AND THANK YOU!

I ran into the same problem today. I'll keep an eye on this post and let you know if I come up with anything.
WAudette...

Did your bad ROM also flash a new kernel? Nandroid doesn't flash the kernel back, so you might need to do that as well. I have no idea if this is THE problem, but it is a common problem.
Good luck.

I've run into this before myself, when I forgot to disable the Voodoo lagfix before flashing something. You could try disabling it using ADB if you know how to do that, but that didn't work in my case. You're likely going to have to use ODIN. The instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8129898&postcount=1 under "Did you flash something before disabling Voodoo?", Fix 1.

I'm sure there is another post about this but I don't know where it is, have looked, a little, but, just want my specifi ? answered. So, have Epic and went to flash from CWM2.5 to 3. Followed all instructions and 1st time didn't flash right, so, reflashed, again, sidenote, I followed all instructions correctly. Anyways, seemed like everything was fine until it rebooted after switching all to Ex4 and from that point only Samung bootup screen appears and nothing else. In addition, have been unable to do 3 finger startup since the reboot. Help, esn swapped to my POS Hero that's slower than slow until I get some advice. Thanks.

I did the samething when I installed cwm 3. U gotta take ur microsd card out and insert it into a computer using an adapter. From there dl a rom of your choice, place it on the sd card, and then flash with cwm.

Yeah, it sounds like the rom flash after the ext4 upgrade didn't "take". Try what the previous poster suggested and if that doesn't help, look up the Odin posts on this forum. Even if you can't "3-finger" into some form of recovery - as long as you can put the phone into download mode (holding down the "1" key while you power the phone on), you can use odin with 99% success.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and maybe I can try to walk you through it without you getting bashed on here! LOL

He doesn't need odin. The CWM3 flash he did was successful. He just needed to flash an ext4 ROM to get past the Samsung Boot screen.

That's my thought as well. What rom is the OP trying to use? Is it ext4 compatible? Using a rom that isn't compatible with your file system is one way to get stuck at the Samsung screen.
Although, if ext4 didn't "take" or was partially completed, it could result in something like this. Reflashing with cwm3 might fix this if it notices a problem and tries to redo the conversion.
If flashing a good ext4 compatible rom doesn't fix it, then using Odin and starting over quickly becomes the best option. Though there is a reRFS dk28 rom that the OP could try to flash from his current situation.
Ok flashed Midnight Standard and goes straight to CWM3 startup screen & that's it. So, am I gonna have to do the whole Odin thing? I really hope not. Oh, and fyi I'm a SHE not a HE, lol!

There's a girl on our website! OMG!
Look for the reRFS dk28 rom. It will try to reformat your phone back to rfs. Then try again. Or just go ahead and jump straight to Odin. Some people seem have a hard time with Odin, but it really isn't that hard.
Ok, thanks for the input. Screw it, just going to do Odin and not mess around anymore. Not having a phone the last day in a half is driving me nuts! Can you point me to a link that has all the stuff I need to do this. I've surfed a couple links and some lead to dead link for Odin. Besides, I want to make sure I've got all the right "ish" to do this. Thanks, so much!

**SOLVED**Help! secure boot: image SOS checksum fail! the sequel..

Hi guys i know Brian117 originally posted this and sc2k helped him fix hes tablet i apologize for not continuing the thread
but its been almost 8 hours since i bricked my tablet. i can't take it anymore i tried alot of things i search Google for answers until i gave up.
Im not a pro but im not new to flashing roms so i originally installed CWM from the "it's Magic" post from sc2k i did it successfully then installed
Dexter's primee rom successfully aswell no problem. Once i discover Virtous picasso rom, Honey Villain rom i decided to test them out aswell
see witch one fit my liking so i did successfully. After seeing Virtous galaxy i decided to check it out i did i got an error at boot so after posting
my error some suggested i update my CWM so i was able to boot into galaxy rom loved it then i downloaded "update-recovery-thor2002ro-rev1.3.4"
from the instruction i gathered im suppose to just flash it through CWM so i did and it said that i succesfully flashed it now reboot into CWM to see
the changes so at this point i thought heck yeah!! then to my surprise i reboot it the tablet and was greeted to " secure boot: image SOS checksum fail!" so i then tried a normal reboot the ACER logo just stood there hanging looking back at me laughing.
Before i originally installed CWM i followed all instruction so i have all my back ups and UID saved on my PC. i Already pm sc2k about see if he can help me
but i thought i post the whole processed of what i did to avoid others bricking their tablet aswell and hopefully in the mean time if any of you guys have any suggestions, tips i gladly welcome them since i cant return it to staples anymore i have to deal with Acer if i cant get it to work. Also I fully understand this is a risk i took and not blaming no one for my error all im asking is for help
u done one wrong step, u didnt run its magic before installing thor recovery i think..
I am pretty sure that thor explains in his thread that you should flash his "update-recovery-thor2002ro-rev1.*.*" files only if you allready have his version of recovery installed.
So you should have installed the full "recovery-thor2002ro-rev1.3.4.rar" as described in 1st post of his thread and not just try to flash the update-recovery file.
Maybe thor or sc2k can help you now..
I think the problem was that your original cwm was an older version that did not run itsmagic automatically on startup and the update package doesn't run it either. I'm so glad to see someone who has backups!
Don't know if this will help.. The hang at the logo is usually an indication of needing to do a data wipe after installing a custom rom. Was the tablet booting normally before flashing the cwm update?
Anyway, this thread from sc2k demonstrates a method to wipe data. You can see if that will help get you past the logo screen. If it does, great.. run itsmagic, then you should be able to get back into recovery.
If it doesn't help, you'll need to ask sc2k how to unbrick via nvflash (that's what mcblk0_start file is for).
Edit: aw man..I just realized I forgot the link.... ah well
Update: with help from sc2k i was able to fix my tablet it worked great.

BTW i did already had the streakdroid on my sd card. someone please HELP me
if this helps i have a Dell Streak from AT&T
V 2.2
Baseband Ver. 2.6.32.9-perf
OEM Ver. GAUSB1A135331

Thanks
Sounds like this might help.

i already know all of this, but thanks for trying, i cant root it eather, i forgot to mention, it keeps failing, and ive tryed all versions of oneclick
Do this - you do not need root to use that method and is you read the previous links I posted you will figure out how to use StreakMod Recovery even if you aren't rooted.
I got same problem when I installed custom rom at very first time from stock 2.2.
Do this if still can boot to stock rom..
1) Rooting with Gingerbreak.apk , this will work..
2) After rooting done, use R.E and change one file in the system as this file automatically blocked custom recovery when reboot so your problem happened... your DS5 still booted on stock recovery even already flashed StreakMod recovery...
Read this.
3) After modifying one system file then flash StreakMod recovery then you can continue....
Hope this can help you.
i tried that too, but like ive said when i first made this post, when i go into streakmode (when i turn it on with both volume bottons ect) and go into mode after that all i get is something like for an emergency restore blah blah , idk whats wrong, ive done the streakmod right and still,
i have att 2.2 rom it wont allow me to install other source apks
Regarding the issues faced by the OP on this thread:
1. If you are seeing mention of an update file when trying to access StreakMod Recovery, then you let the Streak boot regularly once you installed StreakMod, rather than immediately booting into StreakMod Recovery. If you let the Streak boot normally, StreakMod Recovery gets overwritten. If you're trying to install StreakDroid, then you need to hold down volume down and up as soon as you finish flashing StreakMod Recovery via Fastboot to use it.
Custom ROMs do not have the problem with recovery images being overwritten.
2. The recommended method of rooting a Streak is to flash StreakMod Recovery and then flashing Superuser.zip through it. One click rooting methods are not 100% reliable. The OP is attempting to flash a custom ROM, which doesn't require flashing Superuser.zip. It DOES require flashing StreakMod Recovery.
3. AT&T was supposed to permit sideloading on newer AT&T ROMs. Go to Settings>Applications and make sure "Unknown Sources" is checked. If the option is not present in the ROM, then either the ROM must be changed or a PC application such as the Sideload Wonder Machine must be used.
OP, you were attempting to change the ROM to StreakDroid. Did you change your mind?

Gee - the same info was available from my first post in this thread. All you had to do was click on a link and actually read. If you had you would have had the answer less then an hour after your OP.

[Q] How to restore stock recovery?

I thought the GPS issue I was having was app related as it seemed to smooth out but it's once again popped up and I need to return this sad S4.
I've searched and read the threads and have only found how to unroot the phone not restore the stock recovery. Am I missing something simple like "duh, just remove twrp"?
As always your guys help is appreciated!

Flash the stock firmware through ODIN and then do a factory reset.
Or you can use Kies to do an emergency firmware restore, but it doesn't seem to be an option for every one. You can use the "search" function to help answer any questions you have about either method.
Thanks!...I'll give them a shot later today.

P9 Lite booting lock

Hi all, i'm new to Android Phones, so i started a few days with this phone. But now i think i've done a big mistake, i tried to erase everything from the phone, in a hope to "restore" to the factory state. Instead, i think i've deleted everything from the phone, and now, it only says "Your device is booting now..." and it doesn't boot. It's unlocked and rooted, i've deleted it from the TWRP menu.
So, is there anything that i can do, to restore it back? The model i think it's the VNS-L31, i'm downloading a firmware from the L21, can it be replaced or something like that? Thankx in advance.
*Edit* I found stock rom for my phone here in the fórum, but it says i need to have stock recovery but i have the TWRP recovery. Is there any way that i can do it, with that recovery?
*Edit 2* In Erecovery, when i try to download it says "Getting package info failed"
First of all... Why don't you have a backup in TWRP? ALWAYS back up your stuff before doing ANYTHING in TWRP.
Second: there is an option for factory reset within the EMUI system itself. Absolutely no need to mess around in TWRP for something like that. Of course you can "factory reset" in TWRP but this can also wipe your system which then requires you to flash something.
To your problem:
Since I luckily was not forced to flash a stock firmware yet, some more information would be nice.
In which format does the firmware come (link to where you downloaded it)? TWRP can handle .zip files. So if it comes as a .zip file, you can try flashing it through TWRP (really depends on what you downloaded!)
If you only need stock recovery, try accessing TWRP with your phone plugged into a PC.
This way it normally fires up the stock eRecovery.
Hi, yeah, i should have done a backup, thank you for the advice. The firmware i used is this one www .stechguide.com/huawei-p9-lite-marshmallow-firmware-b100/ - i found it here, and a user used it to, not sure why, but he says that it worked.
I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it, because i'm new to this. The TWRP boot, but i can't get my phone to get recognized by the huawei software, not sure if it need to. Even with the drivers installed, it only connects if the phone is on the menu.

Hmm maybe best way is to send the user that made it work a PM and maybe he can provide you a guide on how to do it.
And maybe he or you can then provide a guide here on how to do it.
This device is rather new and the forum is building up so there is a lot of work to do and a lot of things have to be worked around.
Hope you can fix it, like I said, I cannot really help you properly since I never had the problem and therefore do not really understand what's happening on your device.
hi, thank you for the reply. In fact i have solved the problem few minutes ago, and was thinking on do a quick fix tutorial or something like that. Because it's really fast, just need to do the right way.
I'm really happy for the help i got in this forum, all the threads are really intersting. Going to try help others with the same problem that i had. Thank You

Always have a backup of your fresh system on TWRP. Then whatever happen just restore it whenever you think you messed up your device and you should be fine ALWAYS.
