Just curious, since I have the impression that games run much better on the official ROM than custom ones. IS there a problem with 2D/3D on custom roms?
Thanks in advance,
K.
I'm not sure, but I think that Tattoo doesn't have a GPU! That's the reason that many games won't play so smooth!

Trying to make my Eris as gaming friendly as possible so I can give it to my son when I get my new phone. Are there any ROMs that can play the newer games fairly smoothly? Running Tazz's Ginger Sense, and it can play games like Angry Birds 'ok', but I was wondering if there are any others that are more optimized for that sort of thing.

Honestly, from my experience the biggest issue you are gonna have is the hardware: CPU, RAM and graphics. Although you can overclock the CPU, up to ~768mhz i think is the best you will probably get stability-wise, games like Angry Birds are still going to have performance issues and the battery drain is gonna be much greater. Forget flash if you are going to use Froyo or GB ROMs. Flash is even still pretty limited on 2.1 ROMs like xtrSENSE
If your son loves playing games like that a lot, you are better off getting a used Incredible 1 for him or something like that. The Eris is a good phone once tweaked but even it has it's limits.
Guys,
just 2 quick questions,
I've noticed various Roms which state the GPU+ Patch (2D+3D) to improve the graphics performance, is this already applied on the HD2 Roms, if no, then is it possible to apply it to the HD2 Android Roms?
also,
I've just noticed a HTC Sensation Rom ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
Which states that the 3D engine is Overclocked to boost performance, is this possible for the HD2?
regards
it will be great for ours HD2's!!

any answers Mods/Guys?
issnt Chainfire 3D already slightly doing that, but its more off utilizing RAM instead of CPU though...

I don't think so JCSY ... Chainfire 3D Emulates the functions of Adreno/Tegra chipsets etc
it does not overclock the Adreno 3D Engine/processor speed. and as far as I have found, it is not intended to Boost 3D performance of the Adreno Chip through tweaks ...

Hello Guys can you please tell me which Nand Rom i can play Temple run in 60FPS like this ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBKQKrXJgK0 ? ? I have this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622788 but it s very laggy ! Thank you !
Your using an old rom, try to get aokp m5 se version from the icecreamtoastdroid thread.
And this work 100% ? ? 60 Fps ? Smooth ?
Yes, well, more like smooth 30fps but u can't get faster than that. here is that rom: http://www.mediafire.com/?pt4wtuzzv2joyc9
NexusHD2 or IceCreamTosti are both great, a very decent framerate on those. Comparable to my friend's Sensation and even a One X. TBH 60fps isn't necessary, 30 is the most you'll ever need. Same with quad core processors, dual core is the most you'll ever need.
Hello there, community!
This is my first post on xda forums and I will try to make it quick.
I'm looking for a fast ROM that will run smoothly sacrificing more unneeded features and options. I found stock 4.0.3 rom stuttering and lagging from time to time, even in Contacts section.
With no work in the background, my LG has around 80-100 RAM left, which I'd like to increase. I also plan on running some more advanced 3d games, so a little overclock would also be nice - I know this CPU is already oc'd from 800 to 1000 mhz but maybe it's worth trying to push it a bit more and take the weight off by disabling CPU rendering in favor of the GPU (I mean this great performance boost everyone is talking about when you force GPU rendering). If it works the way I think and with the GPU taking care of all the rendering, maybe processor won't heat so much and could be overclocked above 1 Ghz. What do you guys think?
In short, I'm looking for a fast ROM with a gaming and overclocking potential. Thanks in advance for the replies!
I use Slimbean 4.1.2 and it's really smooth and fast!
It's also perfect for my gaming needs but I don't really know what games you're after though!
Give it a try, you will certainly like it!

Well, I'm looking for overall better performance. For example on this stock rom, in the game Galaxy on Fire sound and interface lags etc. I found it odd that some simple games like Jetpack Joyride often stutter during gameplay, but Rayman Jungle Run with much better sound and graphics runs smoothly.
I'll check the rom you mentioned. Any more sugestions?
You should give a try to PAC ROM 4.3.Even it has some bugs,I found it smoother than I thought. After it will become stable,it will be one of the best or even the best ROM as performances.
Does anyone plan to built a custom kernel for our s3 neo? Would be very nice to get a performance boost especially for gaming For example GTA San andreas, i know adreno 305 is incompatible with the game but maybe it would be more playable with an overclocked GPU? Thankyou for your hard work all of you developers for this device
i think it wouldn't make a big difference...
because the game itself is laggy on most android phones (lack of optimization, for example on an iphone much better optimized) , most other games on s3 neo perform very well so it's probably the fault of rockstar games. however that's my opinion
You are right with low Ende devices but in my friends devices with snapdragon 615 it runs 100% smooth all the time on highest settings everwhere, and Here it lags still with lowest settings. I know its incompatible, but maybe an overclock can make it run with more than 10-20 fps. I think GTA SA got more stable on most devices with its last updates. Unfortunately, even GTA 3 runs "only" good , not very good on highest settings, and GTA vice City even Lage sometimes on mid settings. Maybe you are right and it is Rockstars fault, but maybe an overclock can cause a slightly Vetter performance. Other games like MC5 and dungeon hunter run very smooth. Emulators like drastic and n64 Emulators also, and Ppsspp in most cases well. But it would be nice if wie could max out the performance. I know it will cause battery darin, but when gaming at home it doesnt matter. If i had the abilty to develop a kernel or anything for this device, i would. But i dont own a PC and dont have the knowledge
I searched for that bug and found that it's an Adreno 305 problem, for example the Moto G got a GPU update and made GTA SA run better. Here's the link:

We just need someone to adapt it for our phone.
Yes gta san andreas that work smooth for our device...it would be a dream
Oh this would be very very nice if someone is able to port this
I'm working on a custom kernel but i need time because i'm new in android dev, till now i've worked only on linux kernel

As i got this phone New i flashed an old s3 kernel so recovery die not work which was really stupid
There is a custom Kernel for CM12.1?

Use Flashify. It has a kernel backup option.
