Galaxy S Vibrant won't turn on after upgrading - Vibrant General

Hi
I just upgraded my T-Mobile Galaxy S Vibrant using KIES, and since then it just won't turn on! When I press the button to turn it on, it shows de Vibrant Screen, like it would boot properly... but suddenly it stops, the screen keeps all black forever...
I really don't have a clue of what to do.

i believe you are in the wrong Galaxy S section
Let me send you to the one it belongs to.

were you rooted?

Did you have a ROM other than stock loaded? Did you upgrade to JI5 thru Kies? Did you have a lag-fix installed?

This is a soft brick, you need to find Eugenes non brick froyo and follow the instructions

Thx to you all, my problem is being solved with tips & hints here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809567&page=3

stuck in recovery mode

Hi all,
I have a weird situation here. I have a vibrant and I installed on it the official middle-east froyo ROM for the international galaxy s. Then I wanted to root the device, but the thing is, it thinks I'm using the international I9000 galaxy, so now pressing the power button in the recovery mode isn't working, it expects the home button (the physical one) to be pressed, which is available on the vibrant!
help please!
nevermind, I somehow managed to get into download mode and flshed it.
im having the same issue how did u fixed it?
Yes please how did you get it to go to the download state I'm STUCK!
For you people who doesn't want to search the forums. There are awesome threads of how to get your phone into the Download mode. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737

[Q] Stuck in Samsung Recovery Utils

Hey everyone!
I have never posted anything on a forum before, so please tell me if I do anything wrong. I have searched everywhere to find a solution for my problem, but I found nothing.
Today I accidentally got into the Samsung Recovery Utils of my galaxy 3. I have done nothing to the phone, all original, nothing flashed or rooted. But now I can't get out of this mode, if I restart the phone it automatically goes back into it.
Does anyone know how to get out of there?
Thank you a lot for helping me!
And I hope that this is the right forum to ask this question, as I said, I have never posted in a forum before.
Usually you should be able to reboot from recovery mode. Scroll to reboot Phone with the Volume Keys and klick with the Home Key... Your phone should restart.
Otherwise remove the battery, wait a few moments, plug the battery back in and try it again.
Good Luck
Thank you, I tried both several times, but I always end up in the recovery mode... I have no idea how i can get out of there! Do you maybe know something else I could do?
do the battery thing mentioned above. turn on your phone with vol up+ vol down+home +power (hold them for a while) and then try rebooting from the menu
here's the solution

Hey.. If ur on a Android 2.1 firmware and stuck on recovery every time...
just use the volume keys and chose the option "reboot" ... by the way.. its on default there.
after that just press the central key or called the "home key" two times consecutively..
ur good to go
I tried this several times, but I always end up in the Recovery Menu. When I pull out the battery, restart the phone and hold all those buttons including the power button my phone shows the Samsung Galaxy Logo and then reboots again, and then shows the Logo and reboots again. Only without holding the power button, and only the other ones I get into the Recovery Menu again. I really hope there is a way to get out of this mode! Thank you for all your help so far!
Hey I just saw the post in front of my other one
So yes I'm on Android 2.1 if that helps. And I tried this method several times, but when my phone restarts I always end up in the recovery mode by pressing nothing.
But thank you
try wipeing data and cache
I tried that out, but still rebooted into recovery mode all the time.
Because I couldn't find anything that solved my problem I just decided to flash my phone to a newer original firmware via odin. I just finished flashing and everything works fine as it did before, till now tho. I used the tutorial that is on this forum for flashing my I5800 and it worked perfectly fine, thank you for everyone's help anyway!
Now I hope that they will soon bring back froyo on kies, because it was deleted from the servers again today in Germany so I can't update. Hope that will happen soon!
I would recommend to forget about KIES... I am sorry but this software is a piece of crap!
Keep using the Odin Flasher. If you have some spare time install gsams nice lagfix and be happy about a very fast Froyo I5800
Edit:
Another funny thing about Kies: You can download the current version by using a US Proxy Server, which is also free of these annoying error messages at startup. But still there are much better alternatives, and the newest version (Kies 5 I think) is also incompatible to the I5800 Phone :-/
Yes, I really hate kies, that software is nothing good!
I think I will follow your advise to continue using odin flasher. Which froyo version is the best to install? I still have 2.1 on my phone. and then how do you install that lagfix? Sorry for all those questions, but I'm new to all this.

you are new to this? ok, then go to the development section and see the READ FIRST thread
I have already read through those threads, I just meant that I just started some days ago, I'm not a pro, I'm only someone who just started haha
So today I flashed to xxjpf froyo and I'm having no problems so far. everything is fine so my problem is solved and in addition I have froyo now

[Q] Not bricked, but dead!

Hi @All,
I usually have Ocercome-Roms for my Tab...
Yesterday, I wanted to flash The Original Gingerbread and failed....Bevor that, I got Kratos on the Tab, and I know, what to do, before flashing other Roms, but I tried to flash fiew times, always Failure....
So, after my Tab showed me the bricked sign on the screen, I decided to flash my savest Rom, JMA with repart., Pit and PDA, but the same, Failure, screen switched off, and nothing goes anymore.....
I dont know, if its a hardwareproblem now or only a Softwareprob.....
I can feel at the bottom, that my Tab is on, its warm there...I tried with KIES, Odin, no notice of my Tab on PC....
Maybe someone can give me positive answers
No One, who has some tricks for me?

[Q] GT-i9505 works but screen is black, no splash

Hi people. I have been running a rooted phone for a while and decided to go back to unrooted recently. I decided I would like to use the barclays app and apply the new updates that samsung rolled out recently. However when I flashed the stock firmware I found that the screen no longer worked. The phone seemed to boot up and play the samsung startup jingle but no splash logo. just a black screen. To test I decided to call it and the call came through ok and answered with the home button, speech all functional???!! Just no screen ... completely black??? Would this likely be a fault with the firmware or is it just uncanny timing with a faulty screen??? confused and wondered if anyone else has come across this before I go but a new screen. I downloaded the firmware from hotfile "I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_I9505XXUDMH8_HOME"
thanks in advance

i would say to stay away from new firmwares at this time....you are stuck in the locked bootloader.
can you boot in recovery or odin modes and see the screen?
wipe data and cache and reflash the MH8 then do the wipe. see if that works
can not determine if it is a HW or SW issue.
if you want to use app that doesnt require root like Barcley and you are rooted, you can hide the root with some available app.
It seems I am able to get the device into download mode, although nothing comes on the screen. I just have to do the procedure blind. No matter what I do nothing comes up. It also seems I can only get the phone to read the internal memory through USB once a flash procedure has completed. It seems to force a boot up but when I try to restart manually it does nothing but vibrate and only seems to be able to put into download mode while blind. I find it very unusual that the screen should suddenly stop working the moment I try and flash the standard firmware. Getting worried now. nothing seems to work
Can anyone help here??? I have tried flashing several times. Just vibrates and does nothing. I can get it into download mode but I don't get any warning screen up. I just go through the button combo's blind and it manages to get into communication with a odin com port. I have tried doing a PIT download. What I was then finding is that the phone can bring up a recovery screen with option to reset, I reset but the phone will just be a black screen and play the samsung start jingle without the splash screen. It then seems to boot and receive notifications with a totally black screen. completely unresponsive.
If you can't see a splash screen or even recovery and download mode screens, then I'd say its a hw issue and no ROM is going to fix it, because those mentioned things are not even tied to the ROM.
Your screen has broken some how, it could be as simple as a flexi connector falling out or as bad as your screen being totally gone.

It doesn't look like hardware problem
i am facing exactly similar situation with a 9505, i tested LCD with another of my 9505, and LCD is ok
is just happened after an Odin flash of stock firmware.

[Q] Bricked my Note 3, layman needs help

Hi everyone. I was attempting to update the firmware on my note 3 using the Verizon software assistant when my son unplugged the phone when it was a little more than halfway done. It's unlocked with Verizon as the original carrier, SM-900V is the model number. I've tried to master reset as well but it just turns off briefly and returns to the same screen, the only other screen I can get to is a warning telling me that downloading a custom OS can cause critical problems and to press volume down or up to continue or cancel. When I press up it says Downloading, don't turn off target but it just stays there. I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to rooting or installing custom OS and such things but I'd just like to restore it back to factory 4.4.2 which it was running previously. Can someone help me out with a relatively simple explanation as to what to do? It's much appreciated, just got this thing yesterday and I'd like to get it up and running asap. Thanks again.
Connect it to Samsung kies and perform an emergency repair.
Alternatively go to sam firmware.com and download the correct firmware you require and flash it using odin un download mode ( the screen that you saw that said downloading)
