Hello
Does anyone know if a NASA Skywatch type application has been or could be made?
Im thinking of this incase anyone isnt firmiliar;
http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/SSapplications/Post/JavaSSOP/JavaSSOP.html
I guess the data is all there and the calculations arnt too difficult to figure out the next pass/sighting opportunities, so i assume it could be done.
The idea being that i dont have to get onto the web to find info out and can just load up the app. Always useful when out camping or something and miles from a computer!
Did you manage to find anything for this?
It's something I'd find handy. I'd considered making my own but i'd need a free data source of some sort.
I'd envisage it would:
Use GPS (or manual specification of location)
List passes from now for the next day or two
Allow you to set a calendar appt with reminder for the time of the pass
Display a "sky" circle with lines showing the pass... and so on.
I havnt heard anything im afraid. From what i understand, there is an awful lot of data involved with it which is updated very regularly.
The best bet i suspect would be an app that could interrogate the actual site and display a result, rather than being standalone. But i know nothing about making apps ( i suppose thats something to learn on my next day off though!). Il update this thread if i hear anything!
I wanted the same exact thing... but since nothing was out there... I just embeded a code on a blank webpage, and I use that. This, has a "Sunl map" as well as a "google earth" bg and -live- cloud cover.
www [dot] die [dot] net/earth
Doesnt show/list sat's or ISS... but its sorta cool.
Its online... But might make for fun code to work with, to build something else upon it?
Hi,
I would like to be able to pre-define certain words and short phrases which I then send out on Twitter as situation updates.
Anyone know any Twitter clients that allow this? I'm struggling a little with the Nexus One keyboard.
Thanks.
I'm assuming you mean something like the iPhone's "Social Beacon" app that they created on The Gadget Show? (Dunno if you saw that or not... but I noticed you're also from the UK, so there's a possibility.)
Don't think there's anything like that on Android yet I'm afraid. But if you're having trouble with the keyboard I suggest downloading ShapeWriter. It can take a little while to get used to but it's free at the moment and once you do get the hang of it it's insanely fast and very accurate.
Say I wanted to send out score updates on Manchester United games (I don't).
I may pre-define the terms 'Manchester United' and 'Tottenham Hotspur' before the game so that I don't have to key them both in in full each time a goal is scored.
I'll have a look at Shapewriter. Thanks.
I noticed an app shortcut missing from the upper right of my home screen today. I called my GF with same phone and asked her what was in the upper right on hers (I set them up to be similar layout) and she had a blank but couldn't remember what it was either.
I know something was occupying that space and I thought it was useful enough not to move it to one of the side screens, but now I can't remember what it was.
It would sure be nice if there was a log of apps installed/removed that one could access after the fact.
I noticed after one of the updates that pandora went away, but I redownloaded it and it even kept my authentication. I removed slacker a while ago because it kept losing my login info.
I think a list of what we notice missing would be interesting, so please chime in (with missing items, not trolls)
dont have a App-Backup?
Google changed some of their package names. This will cause some icons to disappear, it doesn't necessarily mean it was removed entirely.
yeah u mite just need to add shortcuts again...
I still like the topic of the thread though. If OP could update the post with the apps removed and the reason stated it could be one of XDA's great reference threads.

(no name stated)
That's what kills me, I don't remember.
I thought I would use it frequently so left it in a prominent position, but apparently they wiped my brain along with the app (or shortcut).
I have a stock phone. not rooted.
I haven't found a backup app or screen capture app that works with unrooted phone.
Should we guess what it was? My guess is google voice.

This won't help now but one does exist, you just have to install it beforehand. There is an app called AppHistory which keeps a list of everything you have installed and removed. I don't backup my apps and have found that useful once or twice to remember an app that I uninstalled and want to try again or something.
So everthing was fine till yestarday, this morning I open the market place to see if there is something new or exiting that I should buy. Suddenly I noticed I have only two options to choose from either; samsung or all. before it was;
samsung
games
apps
maps
social
etc
How the hell did they downgrade to this. Right now all the games and apps are mixed up. Anyone has any idea how to fix this.
Thanks
Bikram
Have you changed the language or region settings on your phone? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause this kind of behavior.
Does the phone auto update the market based on where you're located?
Might try relocating yourself with the settings. Might have been a GPS error.
This might have been when the marketplace was down, experiencing errors though.
I was rummaging around in the installed applications list looking for stuff to uninstall when I stumbled upon something called IMSLogger+ that apparently has every permission in the history of Android along with an icon that just screams "suspicious".

Never seen it before today, it might or might not have been part of the Malaysian BOA2 firmware update.
Googling around doesn't turn anything concrete up aside from some allusions to possible malware delivered OTA to the Note 4.
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and whether it is safe to freeze and uninstall with Titanium Backup?
It's the application that's listens to your microphone to gI've you ad's based on what it picks up.
