Put in Sztupy's experimental ROM too the one that says NO RFS, its pretty good. I got a linpack 20+ & Quadrant 2000+ pre-rooted, NO LAGFIX.

Sztupy's has an experimental lagfix included. (The lagfix is the whole point of the rom)
Vanilla JPA - Quadrant - 999

It's strange that we call the replacement of a filesystem "lagfix"
This obsession with Quadrant scores is stupid and very misleading. We already know that loop filesystems artificially inflate Quadrant scores even though the device isn't much faster (i.e. OCLF on top of Voodoo gives you 2500 Quadrant but performance isn't truly improved).
It can be useful for doing base comparisons, but it just ends up confusing everybody and perceverating about a number instead of actual performance in the real world and smoothness.
Personally I'm waiting for Voodoo b5.
I'm currently using Doc's Mod for JPM/JP6 and I got 1030 Quadrant with no lagfix. Not sure why the OP said it wouldn't run.
with the same rom, if you run the quadrant test several times, the score varies...
all froyos are scoring about 900 - 1050 without LagFix and 1800 - 2000 with lagfix

Imo none of these benchmarks are able to really rate the overall perfomance of the different firmwares...
Reminds me a bit of DirectX-Benchmarks, same show but different artists

Well it actually does give what it says and it's no quadrant error. It's just that probably no app other than a badly coded touch wiz launcher will ever need a faster memory.
Try noticing differences on your system with a 5600RPM HDD and a 7200HDD.
You won't feel any difference and only benchmarking software will be able to tell.
However if it's possible (because rfs is a crappy file system) why not replace it?
It's like going from FAT32 to NTFS, it's there, it's better so why not use it?
^^ welcome after, there's like three mods trying to accomplish right now..

Just thought about gathering up some info on Quadrant scores and possibly correlate that to ROM/Kernel/MicroSD setup in order to figure out the best combination. I understand that Quadrant scores are somewhat subjective and Kernel code along with HD2 Android Builds are constantly changing, but it would still be interesting to see the tendencies in the performance.
Here is my most recent result:
Quadrant Score: 2046
Neocore Score: 31.8fps
ROM: [Build][21.10.2010][NexusHD2-FRG83 V1.5 PPP + RMNET (Froyo 2.2.1)]
Kernel: Hastarin 7.7
SetCPU: 1152/1152/ondemand
MicroSD: Transcend 8GB Class 6
Please note that I ran Quadrant and Neocore multiple times and I am showing the highest score achieved. I recommend you to do the same. I have seen 1994, 1997, 2015, 2017.
Here is Quadrant Score breakdown:
CPU - 6405
Memory - 1139
I/O - 1958
2D - 309
3D - 418
I noticed that 2D and 3D scores are not fluctuating as much as the other scores, though overclocking does slightly increase their values.
Thanks,
-CJ

that's quite some result!

I think it would be useful for those who have quadrant advanced to post the breakdown of their score to see exactly how everyone differs so much.
Not to be a buzzkill but a synthetic benchmark result from any of these programs doesn't really mean anything. It's more than possible to have a high linpack/neocore/xyz benchmark result and have a sluggish, unresponsive UI. You can do all sorts to Android to inflate your score but what counts is being able to use the phone day to day, with no problems.
how are you guys running neocore. my phone keeps telling me i dont support qualcomm accelerated graphics. then it force closes.
ive tried nearly all android builds, with a variety of available kernels.
none of them seem to allow me to run neocore. however i can get a 2k score in quadrant advanced.

Neocore FC could be a kernel issue (and/or maybe related to stagefright). Try Hastarin's 7.7 kernel and/or make sure stagefright is enabled.

Hello i am new and looking to learn a little bit.My next question for you all is what kernal/rom combinations do you use? what are your quadrant/linpack scores and what is your battery life like??
I am using
Epic experiance rom
With xtreme kernal
setcpu overclocked to 1.2 conservative
Quadrant 1030
Linpak 9.591
PyRo
Heroic Epic w/ Extreme Kernel
SetCPU 1.2 GHz Interactive
Quadrant = 988 (1200 when oc'd to 1.6GHz)
What do you mea by linpack/quadrant scores? I'm a bit new to rooting and haven't seen anyone talk about that yet
quadrant and linpack are available in the market
quadrant benchmarks cpu,I/O and 3d graphics
linpack behcmarks the cpu and looks at floating point operations per second.
PyRo
Im only scoring mid 900's, is that normal?
Swyped from a fascinating over clocked droid using XDA App
Well it'd help if we knew how many mhz overclocked the kernel you're using is. But in most cases, if you're not on Voodoo and on an overclocked kernel, a 900 score sounds about right.
I'm going to guess it hangs up at the i/o test, correct?
SirGatez's blazing eclair voodoo kernels seem to score low on quadrant. Is that what your using?
Rockin' DJ05, Liberty Gingerbread, Clocked at 1.2ghz Voodoo5

You know what, it never did until just today, why's that?
Kernel is in Signature, Geeknik Stupid fast Test Kernel 12.19.10, 1150mhz
Quadrant scores are harmed by rfs, the default filesystem on SGS devices.
Voodoo5 converts everything to ext4, which dramatically improves that section of the test.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Quadrant scores in the 800-900 range are common without the Voodoo lag fix installed. As Alex pointed out, the RFS filesystem causes lots of write lag, which significantly drags down the Quadrant score (if you had the full version of Quadrant, you'd see that). With Voodoo converting the filesystem to ext4, you'll see your Quadrant score practically double. Unfortunately, Quadrant doesn't use tests that are equal to all types of CPU architectures, filesystems, etc., so the results aren't really a fair comparison of real world performance.
Smartbench 2010 is much more accurate, according to everything I've read, although they're having a little trouble with it getting accurate readings on the Galaxy S series for some reason. They're working on it though, and will likely have an updated version soon that will fairly test the Galaxy S series alongside all other Android phones.
along with setup please.
Figured we might as well record benchmark progress as kernels and ROMs get faster. I'll start off.
Linpack -- 56.264 high, 52-55 consistent
Quadrant -- 2090 high, 2000-2050 consistent
Setup:
bcnice's 1.5 OC kernel
NFX's stock deodexed ROM
SetCPU 245/1516 interactive
Dread's GB theme modified
Thanks to all the devs working on this phone. Can't wait to see what else this thing is capable of.
my scores
Running:
Bcnices 1.8 Gingerbread AOSP kernel
Evervolv Alpha Update 3
Deodexed
Quadrant:
Highest: 2968 , 26-2800 consistently
Linpack:
Highest: 60.XXX, 55-58 consistently
Its also important to note which quadrant version you are using as well. Scores vary widely between the paid and free versions.

This is very true. The test that scored 2968 was run using Quadrant Advanced 1.1.1 Rev 1352
New screenshot is the same system as above but run on the newest version of Quadrant Standard (1.1.7) available.
I get about 2000 on Quadrant at 1.8GHz. How is there such a big difference?

Is this any good?
If you have Advanced you can go into the Custom run and disable volumetric shadowing for the hallway. Scores will jump by 300-400. How the hell did you get over 4000?
So Qualcomm just released an awesome new benchmarking tool, its quite comprehensive, go check it out:

Curious what kind of scores everyone is getting.

This benchmark focuses more on user experience. Quadrant has very low level tests that are surely effected more by slight hardware optimizations. Also I have never seen consistent scores on quadrant (they fluctuate +/- 200) With this I am consistently getting the same score within 5-10, which is nice.
952 - stock, unrooted
1170, bonzai ROM 0.1.3 overclocked to 1.4Ghz.
