Im only scoring mid 900's, is that normal?
Swyped from a fascinating over clocked droid using XDA App
Well it'd help if we knew how many mhz overclocked the kernel you're using is. But in most cases, if you're not on Voodoo and on an overclocked kernel, a 900 score sounds about right.
I'm going to guess it hangs up at the i/o test, correct?
SirGatez's blazing eclair voodoo kernels seem to score low on quadrant. Is that what your using?

You know what, it never did until just today, why's that?
Kernel is in Signature, Geeknik Stupid fast Test Kernel 12.19.10, 1150mhz
Quadrant scores are harmed by rfs, the default filesystem on SGS devices.
Voodoo5 converts everything to ext4, which dramatically improves that section of the test.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Quadrant scores in the 800-900 range are common without the Voodoo lag fix installed. As Alex pointed out, the RFS filesystem causes lots of write lag, which significantly drags down the Quadrant score (if you had the full version of Quadrant, you'd see that). With Voodoo converting the filesystem to ext4, you'll see your Quadrant score practically double. Unfortunately, Quadrant doesn't use tests that are equal to all types of CPU architectures, filesystems, etc., so the results aren't really a fair comparison of real world performance.
Smartbench 2010 is much more accurate, according to everything I've read, although they're having a little trouble with it getting accurate readings on the Galaxy S series for some reason. They're working on it though, and will likely have an updated version soon that will fairly test the Galaxy S series alongside all other Android phones.

along with setup please.
Figured we might as well record benchmark progress as kernels and ROMs get faster. I'll start off.
Linpack -- 56.264 high, 52-55 consistent
Quadrant -- 2090 high, 2000-2050 consistent
Setup:
bcnice's 1.5 OC kernel
NFX's stock deodexed ROM
SetCPU 245/1516 interactive
Dread's GB theme modified
Thanks to all the devs working on this phone. Can't wait to see what else this thing is capable of.
my scores
Running:
Bcnices 1.8 Gingerbread AOSP kernel
Evervolv Alpha Update 3
Deodexed
Quadrant:
Highest: 2968 , 26-2800 consistently
Linpack:
Highest: 60.XXX, 55-58 consistently
Its also important to note which quadrant version you are using as well. Scores vary widely between the paid and free versions.

This is very true. The test that scored 2968 was run using Quadrant Advanced 1.1.1 Rev 1352
New screenshot is the same system as above but run on the newest version of Quadrant Standard (1.1.7) available.
I get about 2000 on Quadrant at 1.8GHz. How is there such a big difference?

Is this any good?
If you have Advanced you can go into the Custom run and disable volumetric shadowing for the hallway. Scores will jump by 300-400. How the hell did you get over 4000?
Can someone explain exactly what it really means?
I know the higher the number the better your phone is working but beyond that i have no clue
I consistently get 2080 to 2250 on cm7 nightly 30 running ondemand governor min 368 max 1.3ghz. Im assuming thats respectable?
I ran it once on performance governor at 1.5ghz and got about 2500 on benchmark.

This is the best score out of a series of three I ran right after flashing Cm6.1.1 and cranking setcpu up to max. I'm sure that this would run perfectly well at these speeds for day to day on his kernel, but I usually only run at around 1113mhz. The g2 is plenty fast on its stock 800mhz with fantastic battery life, don't get me wrong. But what the hell is the point of all this rooting and rom flashing wagoonery if I don't give myself a slight performance bump.
*Epenis waving*
At 1.5ghz max and 368 min (on-demand governor) with CM7 and Pershoot's latest kernel (I believe he incorporated the new GPU drivers), I get 2700-2800. Quadrant tests your CPU, memory, and GPU performance.
As for Quadrant I tend to find it unreliable, for benchmarks I use Smartbench 2011. Seems a bit more reasonable. Makes you realize how underpowered our GPU's is compared to the PowerVR SGX540.
And what is the gpu?

GPU = Graphical processor unit
its the chip in the phone that draws polygons and renders graphics so games and graphic related things run smoothly
Thanks for that info, that's what I was thinking but wasn't positive.
I tried it on smartbench 2011 and got about a 1500.

Got 1500 for what specifically?
Smartbench 2011 outputs 2 bars after the test. One for Productivity Index (CPU performance) and another for Gaming Index (GPU performance). Top bar is Productivity Index and bottom bar is Gaming Index.
from my understanding quadrant isn't all that accurate when it comes to benchmarking...hopefully i'm not wrong but I think it scores the phones ability to handle 2d/3d graphics, how fast it reads and write data, memory and cpu. If you are using the free version you won't be able to see how you score on each test. Even though its just numbers I can't help it...check out my latest and highest bench marks. I barely missed the 3k mark today on quadrant oc'ed to 1.8 got 2997...I just forgot to upload the screenshot.

Wow the Smartbench 2011 results for Liquid Villain are impressive. Might have to give that rom a try.
I think it might I been a fluke lol the cloest I got that again 1600/2400ish.
On all the screen shoots I was using pershoots kernal

If u want to go big use flippys turbo kernel. A phone as fast as u want, lol.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I have used flippy's kernal and oc'ed to 1.9 and got 2997 on quandrant but smartbench score was 1900ish productivity/ 1700ish gaming...phone got a bit hot as well...with pershoots kernal I can get almost the same results and phone stays at normal temp.
I got 3158 on quadrant running CM7rc2 with pershoots .34 kernel. Oc'd to 1516 with performance governor.
Currently on CM7rc3 with pershoots .36 kernel I'm getting high 2900's.
All I know is ›3000 on quadrant is FAST!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
How do I get pershoot's latest kernel?
just over 3200+ on quadrant running the latest CM7 nightly and setting [email protected]
for quadrant, i have noticed its important to run it several times before you get an accurate measurement... personally, i've had the best score around the 3rd or 4th run.... anything more after that just plateau the score or even dips a bit at times. and kill heavy background services (ie: f/b, lookout, juice defender, DSP manager)
FYI: if i set CPU back to stock, i'm still @ 2700ish
Quadrant hasn't been updated for a long time and it is not exactly reliable when it comes to evaluating a phone's performance. You're much better off with Antutu Benchmark.
And this is almost a year old of a post

Most people on this forum have tinkerer with their xoom, and at some point ran quadrant and linpack. I'm curious as to who has the fastest benchmark xoom.
We all know benchmarks don't mean squat in the real world but its still cool to OC it and see what it will do.
So post up your quadrant and linpack scores and at what speed
Mine @ 1.6
Quadrant 4513, it ran 4517 however was unable to get a screen shot.
68.772 linpack. Ranks 124 of all devices
I got 4157 as my highest on quad (1.6 ghz) but I got a 69.4 on linpack (screenshot lost when I had to flash stock images to recover, also at 1.6 ghz) ( its a GIF, so the app doesn't like it)

This is kinda weird for a brag I guess, but I get 3758 on quadrant and 60 on linpack with the 1.4ghz 1.4.2 kernel.
So Qualcomm just released an awesome new benchmarking tool, its quite comprehensive, go check it out:

Curious what kind of scores everyone is getting.
On the bonsai 0.1.6 ROM, OC @ 1.4ghz I am getting 1201
Share yours, along with ROM and OC (if any)!

I wonder why there are such drastic differences between stock and TW Quadrant scores (17xx vs 22xx).

This benchmark focuses more on user experience. Quadrant has very low level tests that are surely effected more by slight hardware optimizations. Also I have never seen consistent scores on quadrant (they fluctuate +/- 200) With this I am consistently getting the same score within 5-10, which is nice.
952 - stock, unrooted
1170, bonzai ROM 0.1.3 overclocked to 1.4Ghz.
Hello,
What is your bench score with QUADRANT BENCHMARK
the mine is 1550 with hc3.1 OTA, Villain_iconia_kernel_2.5 kernel
Quandrant Score : 3423
Acer Iconia A500
Villian_Iconia_Kernel 3.2

I don't know, It might be the Rom.....Its the newest version of the Light Speed Rom....OC'd to 1.4ghz using SetCPU Ondemand governer , with the Honey Villian_Iconia_Kernel 3.2, thats the highest I've gotten but since I've flashed both it has ranged from 2800-3300
[ROM][26/08]Lightspeed_1.0.2[HC3.2]
[KERNEL] Stock/HV/Taboonay V3.3 for HC 3.2 07-09 - 1.64Ghz/UV control
quadrant is very unreliable. to some searching on it, it is easy to manipulate I/O or other factors just get high scores. Doesn't really mean it is a great ROM/kernel combo. I've seen posts where people can get their quadrant score upwards of 20,000. All benchmarks apps have their pros and cons but from i've been told/seen in threads CF bench and vellamo seem to be the most reliable.

I've also tried Smartbench 2011, since it measures both cores instead of one and push around 4400 there.....Im loving the speed on this thing....
